  1. I was looking for this topic because I've wanted to make a comment so here goes. Applejack and Pinkie Pie clearly show that Earth Ponies are not inept compared to the other pony types. Season 2 Episode 8 The Mysterious Mare Do Well is a very good example. Applejack as Mare-Do-Well was able to perform feats that Rainbow Dash failed to do and Pinkie Pie with her Pinkie Sense (seems like a lot of people are forgetting this particular ability) gave Pinkie superpony reflexes and a kind of Spiderman spider sense to avoid objects. This might explain how Pinkie was able to keep up with Rainbow Dash even if it was just for comic relief in that griffon episode.
  2. Actually I thought how cool it would be if every of the six mane got a powered up form based on their element. I'm sure this could happen.
  3. Well I never thought he was bad to begin with. He is still true to what he was since Secret to My Excess as in he was being greedy again in the new one as well but with a different moral that one shouldn't do something for personal gain. And I like his episodes much better than the CMC ones that seem like boring fillers to me.
  4. Power levels or who is stronger than who is not important in a girl's cartoon show. But by Chrysalis' surprised reaction and how she said "Shining Armor's love has made me more powerful than Celestia" this can imply that she is weaker than Chrysalis in a horn magic standoff without the love boost.
  5. I wonder about this because that would mean Shining Armor would age and die before her unless unicorns too have long life-spans (though so far only Earth ponies have shown to age like Granny Smith).
  6. They were all equally nice looking. But what stood out to be me was Rainbow Dash because it was very unexpected for her to wear a dress.
  7. Rainbow Dash has a unique voice with squeaks and cracks that is fun to hear. She is also a good friend for Fluttershy and makes a good pegasister duo for fun.
  8. So... your friend went out to buy pony merchandise? That would be bold for a closet brony to do but for someone that isn't even a brony he must care about you or actually like the show even if it's just teasing. I still don't understand why he was naked out of the shower though @_@
  9. Was hoping Trixie would end up an Element opposite of Twilight and Lightning Dust would be a good counter for Rainbow Dash. But since Trixie is no longer that way I guess not. On another note the case of Glinda the Griffon is not resolved with Rainbow Dash either.
  10. Fluttershy bestpony!!!!!11 :DDDD j/k But in all seriousness when Fluttershy turned Discord around it made me realize how strong she really was not in a coercive force kind of way but because what she had was the ability to have someone like Discord become her friend something Celestia and Luna couldn't do. She just seems like she can end wars without having to fight, the best answer to end a war imo.
  11. Unless you don't think she's a good leader though I think she makes the best choice so far. So for me I think Applejack would make the best leader when Twilight isn't around because she's very frank, probably knows how to deal with responsibilities with other people (like her Apple Family). When she first saved Twilight Sparkle from that cliff on the first episode I had this feeling that she would end up Twilight's closest and most dependable friend like her first mate on a ship or something.
  12. I think Hasbro did a good job on Twilight. Usually the leader type personality would stay calm, collected amongst all the zany masses of characters but Twilight does have her weird moments like how she's always organizing things but can't even find her books or she's crazy about deadlines and stuff like that.
  13. When Fluttershy kept her word that she wasn't going to use her Element against Discord and how Discord became saddened by his loss. Twilight Sparkle's resurrection during Discord's triumphant was pretty epic as well.
  14. 1. Fluttershy: Cutest, pretty funny, lovely voice and main reason I even started watching MLP. 2. Twilight Sparkle: Her bookish nature is cute and funny especially when she freaks out about deadlines and is so uptight. Best voice so far. Usually when you hear sarcasm it's very scintillating but for her it's actually fun to hear. 3. Rarity: Possibly the funniest of the six. Her exaggeration and snooty nature on everything is hilarious. Her voice is awesome as well. Her voice actor should get more credit. 4. Applejack: Possibly the most friendliest of the ponies and able to make strong bonds with others. Very trusting. That's what makes her great. But she can get a bit boring sometimes. 5. Pinkie Pie: Her humor is too predictable and not really funny to me and just kinds of comes out annoying. Kind of like how certain people regurgitate the same humor and you're like "uh huh I've already heard this joke. This kind of leaves her as a character that is just thrown in there to make a full circle. Don't go much for her voice either. 6. Rainbow Dash: I guess I just have a bit of a pet peeve for braggarts. That's the main issue I have with her. Her voice and cracking is the only thing that makes her fun to watch.
  15. I'm thinking middle school as the Cutie Marks does seem like a metaphor for puberty. Spike seems to act older than them (he seems to be in high school).
  16. The test wasn't passable I missed that one. So that would mean Spike could be sort of a mystery and a unique character of his own kind. Wow I just had a sudden thought that Spike could actually get a season finale as a "link" between ponies and dragons. After all he was born from that Rainboom of Friendship that awakened the other ponies cutie marks. So like a friendship bond between some kingdom of dragons with Canterlot could be a possible episode. And maybe he was imbued with some of Twilight Sparkle's magical powers (which is also quite a mystery on it's own and possesses some kind of vast property)
  17. There are episodes that come out as a surprise and those that don't. Like mentioned in over 5 posts it's a children's show and the writers aren't expected to make it any more complex than they should. The thing is even adult shows are pretty predictable nowadays. Watching an episode isn't to always be surprised but to just watch something lighthearted like throwing a ball back and forth isn't something new but it's just done for fun. Some episodes do reflect new personalities of the characters as well and could just glean on that. Oh and I did predict there was something wrong with Cadence and I knew she was evil. But I actually thought she was from another kingdom using a marriage to distract the court as an insider to allow her army to invade Canterlot as there was tidbits about how Shining Armor was using his shield to keep a possible threat out. I didn't think she was someone else in disguise but her actual self and that she wasn't the Cadence Twilight used to know. But I guess that's even darker than what we got. One thing I noticed is as a children's show they haven't had a trusting character that has been around for a while turn out to be a traitor or evil yet. That would be a serious plot twist.
  18. So anyone wonder why the ponies have little to no information about dragons yet the unicorn magic academy examiners uses dragon eggs as an entrance exam? How come Spike is the only dragon that lives with ponies anyway? I was kind of wondering this since Spike might get a spotlight on the last episodes of season 3?
  19. Spike was hero of first episode and then there are two episodes dedicated to him on season 3. Is this a premonition of Spike becoming the star of the final episodes of season 3 as well?
  20. Doesn't matter Fluttershy won because Discord couldn't have his fun. And he got angry in other words he was counter-trolled hard.
  21. It's interesting to note that Fluttershy was the only one that frustrated Discord in Season 1.
  22. One guess is that Celestia had a theory about Fluttershy's abilities and put it to the test. She may have researched a bit on that before giving Fluttershy the trial (Celestia may have witnessed Fluttershy counter-troll Discord on Season 1). Celestia may have tried reforming Discord in the past and failed and finally found the pony that could have a shot at it.
  23. I wonder if anyone thought about how that episode correlated with the relationship between bronies and trolls. Trolls will always troll and bronies will love and tolerate... or in my case just ignore them. Is that where they got the idea for the episode? What do you think?
  24. I also forgot to point out how Twilight Sparkle would of been able to relate to Rainbow Dash as she too was very ambitious to enter the Magic Academy and succeeded, why wouldn't she try to help Rainbow Dash fulfill her dreams too?
  25. Stay Calm and Flutter On was my favorite episode of all Fluttershy episodes. I just don't know how to explain this in words. Fluttershy you're the best.
