My most obvious answer would go to Shinx. Luxray is my favourite Pokemon afterall. Other choices would be Aron (fucking love Aggron) and Bidoof (for shits and giggles).

I'm tempted to say Caterpie since Butterfree's my favorite Pokemon, but starting off with a Caterpie would probably make life much more difficult than it needs to be. With that said, I'd probably pick Azurill. Azumarill's always been one of my favorite Water Pokemon, and with the addition of the Fairy type, it got even more useful.

I've done this a couple times replaying games to get more legendaries and trading a level 1 themed team in.
