I posted on here a while ago about a Swedish band called 'The Halo Effect' comprised of ex-In Flames members. They released their debut album a few days ago and it's sick, here's one of my favourite tracks from it:

 

I would highly recommend the entire album to anyone who is a fan of the Gothenburg melodeath sound.

I've been lately listen to Dead End Finland a lot, they play melodic death (although I think their music is quite soft for that name), but I really dig the atmosphere they're building in their music!

I'm pretty bland with metal, I think most of it is crap and I don't want to indulge the entirety of the genre, but I still think I have good tastes.

To me their atmosphere is one of cold winter and emptiness, so to say. It's so ironic, that their playing style definitely falls into more "pessimistic" tones, yet somehow they actually spark the opposite reaction in me due to how authentic they are in what they play. Overall the sheer intensity of their music is what gets me.
