M.A. Larson Tweets about hidden messages in Art of the Dress

Title says it all. Apparently, M.A. Larson says that Art of the Dress has hints to later episodes in the lyrics like:

"Fluttershy some thing breezy!"

"Rainbow won't rely on tank!"

So do you think this is true or could it just be him trolling.

Discuss away!

i think that it´s just trolling.

i HIGHLY doubt that at the point of season 2, they had anything in plan for season 4 whatsoever.

the rainbow line makes sense, considering she gets her pet tank a few episodes later.

umm maybe just I think the words are "Rainbow wont look like a tank." not "rainbow wont rely on tank." not that it matters that much. But I think that it was just a joke anyway.

I believe this is called reverse foreshadowing, but there may be a better name for it. It's where you take something already written, and *make* it foreshadow by deliberately coming up with references in the new stuff you're writing. You didn't plan ahead, so it's not truly foreshadowing, but it looks like foreshadowing because you're making it work.

For example: Say I write an episode and a song has lines like 'Make it into a party/paint it up so arty.' (God I suck at lyrics) And then a year later I go "oh, I've got an idea!" And write a new episode all about Pinkie Pie turning a Applejack 'paint the barn' chore into a hootenanny. The song from the earlier episode might as well have been foreshadowing from the audience's point of view, but it really wasn't.

Season 1, actually. ;)

Anyway, this has gotta just be Mr. Mitch Larson being silly, no way they actually planned for things like the episode with Fluttershy and the Breezies this early, for instance. :P

Unless Rarity is Equestria's all-powerful prophet or something, would be totally okay with that headcanon...

oh darn,season 1 ofc^^

but as i said,i highly doubt it is more than just a troll.

now that you reminded me of that episode being from season 1,i also doubt that the RD line was foreshadowing either

We'll think about it. The cast do their voices WAY before they air it on television. Maybe they were working on season 3 and 4 way before we (the bronies) knew about it, but on the other hand it could be massive trolling if M.A. is just NOW telling us. Edited by Pegasisters Unite

TV shows like this dont usually have more than one season planned out, unless the publishers know that they are gonna be popular.

seing as MLP was never meant for the demographic it ended up with,i really doubt that they had more than one season planned.

there is no guarantee that the kids are gonna like it.

imagine if they wouldve worked on the 2nd season(or even the 3rd season) in advance and it suddenly turned out as a massive flop.

those are thousands of dollars worth of manpower spent on a project that wouldnt´ve brought any income.

EDIT:about the voices part:

usually the voices for the episodes get recorded even before they are animated, to get the lip synchronization right.
