I have a shimmery green Beetle that I named Gaia, because a total hippie car needs a total hippie name

My previous car was another beetle; a black one that was also given a name. Her name was Betty, also at times referred to as Batterwitch (if you get that reference then you qualify for best friend-ship). Betty and I were pretty much bffs, we went on adventures and journeys together and she was my safe space to fully be myself, the only one I had before I moved out of my parents' house. She is greatly missed <3

Well, we only got a new one recently which hasn't been named yet, but our old one was named Bertha after a certain TV show from back in the 80's.. I can't even remember it that well anymore but apparently I used to watch the heck out of it as a 4 year old. :derp:

Eh, kindof but not really. I have a black Mazda 6 Sport. An ex-girlfriend called it Zorro a few times but it never fit

Yeah, my sister used to own it before I did. It was a Dodge Intrepid, so she nicknamed it "Darth Trepid" since she's a big Star Wars fan.

Of Course SHE has a name:

Sheila

When she had car troubles I said "Come on Sheila you can do it." and BOOM she got fixed.

Now I will go in hiding since I'm a freak..

I've never actually named a car, but some of my friends did.  My brother owned a Subaru & he named it GUS (for Gutless Ugly Shit box).  Back in my 20s, a friend of mine bought a really suped up used car because he wanted to take the positraction & some other stuff from it.  That car had been hammered half to death.  The tranny was shot, you had to go from 1st gear to 4th.  The shocks were so shot, the front end of the car didn't even lift up when he took the engine out.  The damn fool drove it around town for a few weeks before he cannibalized it for parts.  We called it "The Death Mobile" to piss him off.

My vehicle, my daily driver, is a 2007 Toyota Corolla:

and I honestly haven't really thought of a name for it, other than referring to it as "The Riceburner," or "That P.O.S."

However, my baby is a 1971 AMC Javelin SST:

It's not that exact car, but it is in similar shape. It's a work in progress, but I call it "The Widowmaker."

  • 6 months later...

My car, a 2006 Ford Mustang that I love dearly, is named "Rocinante" after Don Quixote's horse from the famous novel. Here's a picture of "Rosie" I took a couple months ago:
