movies/tv RIP Robin Williams

My suggestion would be that everyone go watch their favourite Robin Williams movies when they have the time. Try not to focus on his death, but rather his life. He gave us all his immeasurable talent, made us laugh. I say we should continue to laugh, rather then cry.

Although I never watched many of his movies, I'll remember him. My dad was always a big fan of his, and when I did see his works, I liked them. He will be missed dearly.

I now remember one of the strangest things: we happened to have spinach for dinner yesterday. My brother being himself, started to sing the Popeye theme then later asked was there ever a live action Popeye movie where my mom replied yes with Robin Williams. All of this was at least 1/2 hour to an hour prior to finding out about his death.

What a genius that man was.  Most people think of him as a comedian, but he was equally brilliant at drama.  It's a rare talent that can make you laugh and cry in the same scene.  One of my favorite performances of his was Sy Parrish in One Hour Photo.  It was rare and amazing to see him as a psychotic villain.  Typically, actors will either play heroes or villains.  Most actors are not versatile enough to bounce back and forth between the two.  Robin Williams made it look easy.  Such a genius and such a rare talent.  He will be missed.

I wanted to come and pay my respects. Williams is the man and I was at my dinner table last night when I found this out. I googled it and people are spewing 'illuminati murder" which has made me angry. Actors and actresses are people like us, and they get depressed. I hear that they haven't ruled it a suicide though. I hope some crazy person didn't commit a crime. Robin Williams was always such a happy person.

My favorite movie from him was Dead Poet's Society. Jumanji is also a classic we all remember.

If there was no better a person to see an example of an amazing person, it was Robin. I've always adored his acting and comedy. The world will never forget him.

Robin Williams was without a doubt one my favorite actors, more my favorite comedian. With the likes of Aladdin, Jumanji, Hook, Bicentennial Man, Jack, Popeye, Mrs. Doubtfire, Flubber, Dead Poets Society, Night at the Museum, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Robots, FernGully: The Last Rainforest, Happy Feet, Happy Feet Two, A.I. Artificial Intelligence (movies I have seen)... he was my childhood.

It came a somber suprise when my father told me Robin Williams had died. More that he had committed suicide, a confusing and frustrating regulation. He had been such a seemingly joyful man, quick to smile and laugh, to helps others look on the bright side of this... but this is depression we are talking about. I have learned no matter how happy someone seems on the outside, pain can be hidden within.

I have nothing but respect and appreciation for Robin Williams... and I am perhaps sadder now then I have been for as far bad as I can remember.

Rest in peace, and find eternity Robin Williams. I will miss you dearly.

I suppose I'd best pay my tribute to such a fantastic fellow. That man has brought many great memories with his marvellous acting.

Aladdin is one of those Disney classics that I'll never forget. The Genie was my favourite character, he just made the experience of watching the movie fun, bouncy and overall memorable.

I've yet to see a lot of the other movies he starred in, but he is truly a magnificent guy! I also liked his role in "Night at the Musuem"! Excellent stuff.

Rest in Peace Robin Williams.  :)

I was in shock when I heard about this. So many movies, so many TV shows, so much humor and gone much too soon. RIP Mr. Williams and thank you for all your best work over the years. :(

Apparently he hung himself with his belt after his wife went to sleep.

Also, lets not forget flubber and Casper the friendly ghost! What dreams may come is also one of his movies too.

And another great person goes :(

Thank you Robin, for getting me through a rough childhood, and a good part of my adult years. I have a feeling that he's visiting newly passed on children. Either as himself, or possibly Genie :)

I can't seem to find a good YouTube video of the ending of Bicentennial Man, so I'll present the song heard over the end credits, Then You Look at Me performed by Celine Dion

I do have the movie and Aladdin too, so if you'll excuse me...I need to go pay my respects to him. :(

the most beautiful movie I have seen and funny to boot well he finally gets his well deserved rest and you chose a fitting song. :-) he may have died in a sad way but we wont remember that well remember how he lived.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KQTOrS8z5DQ his greatest scene ever and to quote I would rather die a man than to live forever as a machine unquote he has now died and as a man.

When they first broke the news, I could not believe it. It's very sad that yet another icon from my childhood has passed away. :( I am old enough to remember when Mork and Mindy originally aired. I watched as a kid with my mom and dad.  That was my first exposure to Robin Williams. But of course Good Morning Vietnam, Mrs. Doubtfire, Alladin, Good Will Hunting and more all added to his legacy. And despite some wrinkles here or grey hairs there, he didn't seem to age either. Robin was an incredible one of a kind actor and an all around great guy.  He will be deeply missed.
