{BETSY VIOLET}

Betsy simply does a curtsy, preferring to think on the information, and takes her leave. "Thank you for the service!" She adds a small smile to her sentence as she exits the building, walking calmly and efficiently towards her place of work and living place - the mansion she'd worked at for plenty of her life. She was sure she hadn't neglected anything.

{MATRIX TWANG}

She nods, smiling as she accepts the flask. "Thank you, sir!" She turned her back to the others, which was when she poured a bit of the powder into the stew. As she exited the building, she swished it about to dissolve the powder into the liquid.

Her intentions were not so innocent as they might have seemed.

Like previous occasions, she barges into Button's house. She joyously yells, "Hey! Got you some stew! I know you didn't ask, but...take it anyways!" She smiles, thrusting it into Storm's grip.

{STORM BUTTON}

Storm smiles. "Thank you. Stare, meet Matrix Twang, a good friend of mine." She takes a long glug of the soup, watching the two meet one another. While she does, something feels...wrong inside. "now. UH..Stare...bandages are in the bathroom under the sink."

Something, she doesn't know what, causes her to gag violently for naught five seconds before going unconscious, spilling the stew to the ground.

{MATRIX}

Matrix realizes her dilemma. Stare is present which interrupts her plan. She decides to stop playing nice. She just stares, smiling at Storm, who isn't dead but immobile. "So. Your name's Stare...eh?" Her expression is still smiling, but almost...sinister. She doesn't directly admit to her actions...yet.

Minty stood back up and reached down to pat her detective on the head with a smile.  With the closing of the case, her fears that he was being held captive by the dark wizard she sent him after melted away.  Although that didn't explain the strange backwards town she came to found him in.  Other than the side effects of the power pill, he seemed in good enough health and was able to see that Rising Dusk could approach her unhindered.  It was at this point though that she could look past the midnight blue unicorn to see the effects of her entrance.  The residents of Harrowmark only had half the reaction she was use to seeing.  They were terrified, expect for the pale ghostly looking one that seemed more upset.  Now that reaction she was a little more use to.  "Too much?" she whispered to Rising Dusk through clenched teeth while trying to smile at the scared ponies of the dark land.  To be fair, she appeared trying to catch the attention of the dark wizard likely holding her detective hostage.  The beacon he sent out didn't exactly inform her the condition he was in.  And well, attention she got.

"Maybe a little bit more room reading," he advised before Wisp came in to address The Captain and speak of the error in her introduction.  The confirmation of her worry made her drop her forced embarrassed smile.  It was so much easier to get away with these kinds of things in Equestria, especially Manehatten.  "I'm sorry.  I'm sorry!" she expressed to Thistle and Wisp.  Her horn ignited with a glow and she pranced in place with worry, addressing the whole town with her amplified voice, "I APOLOGIES!  I'M SORRY!  MY BAD!"  Fences not so easily mended, but not trying was worse.  Rising Dusk put up a hoof to signal her to stop, which she promptly did and stood still again.  "Sorry..." she whispered.  Sometimes it was like foalsitting he internally sighed.  Tussle was the true hero of the O.M.I. to keep their captain reined in, but they still all loved her, quirks included.

Regaining her composer, she cleared her throat.  "A pleasure to meet you both.  And please darling, only my agents call me Captain... Call me Minty," she smiled and offered the small mare her hoof.  "Please accept my gratitude for taking care of my darling detective.  If there is anyway I can repay you all, I'll do what I can," she informed the pair, her tone taking on a more serious tune as she slipped more into her role more fittingly.  "It appears both our lands benefited from the fall of this dark wizard Twisted.  His assault on Manehatten from so far a distance raised troubling concerns."

Since there was only total of five chests, it would take only one return and both of them had only one box to carry.

Ruby just hummed in agreement to Spicy's comment, and only reason she made any sound was because Spicy couldn't see her nodding. She waited her to get down and put the last box on her back before leaving again with her own box, and right after dropping it, she got the shovel and started breaking the rusted-through locks, not opening any of the boxes yet.

"There's not too many details to share." Nada said "It was a rock formation surrounding a pond with a opening allowing one to see and go to the pond, somewhere in that direction if I remember right." she pointed to a direction "Any other recognizable thing would be the chairs facing towards said bond, but I really doubt they are still there after this long." she stayed calm the whole time, making her best to not worry the two creatures who would come with them.

(the pond thing is something like this but the rock formations being lot bigger (more like cliffs))

Both Ziggy and Fah'lina would enter the home and sniff the air, soaking in the delicious aroma that wafted through the air. It made Ziggy realize how long ago it actually were since she had last eaten, and with her metabolism, she tended to need to get something in her tummy rather often.

"Smells really nice in here."

She'd get a confirmation squeak from Fah'lina on this, although the mimic were able to pick up on a few extra things that the zegasus's naturally limited sense of smell couldn't pick up on. Steel, oil, and leather had a distinctive smell that were pretty subtle compared to the other smells, but the mimic were a predator, with the senses befitting of one, so it didn't get past her. She didn't care about it in the slightest though, and kept focus on the good smells, like the fresh made bread. She liked gnawing on the crusts more than the actual bread itself when it came to this, depending on if there were anything on it. Usually she could be enticed if there were something like honey that overruled the taste of the bread itself, depending on her mood, and if there were other options.

Scarcity were not a mare who considered herself among the most narcissistic ponies in this town. The nobles were far more suitable to a claim such as that, and barring a few stand out exceptions, their stuck up and pompous ways made her secretly find most of them to be insufferable, despite her on the outside doing what she could to stay on good terms with them. It were just bad business otherwise, considering the prices of what she tended to hold in her store, and there were something to be said for having some favors to call in, should the situation arise.

That being said, much like them, she did have a sense of vanity and adored the right kind of attention, and this stallion's gaze were hardly leaving her when they were near him. Some may find this kind of ogling to be creepy - to a certain degree - yet she considered it to be rather endearing in its own way, and a refreshing change of pace. Mostly when she were given full attention, it were because she were making a deal, showing her superiority towards others, or other things which hardly harbored more positive emotions than relief and potential gratitude. Adoration and an almost transfixed gaze were quite honestly a rarity, and she would lie if she were to say that she did not find Tock's poorly hidden thoughts to be welcome.

Of course, she could use this against him, and wrap him around her hoof to be used as a simple play thing, but he had done nothing but honest, promising work, and a desire towards Scarcity that whilst poorly hidden, were not forced upon her in any sort of way. She saw no reason to use him in a negative way such as that, though she would certainly be thinking of him, and how to approach him at a later date.

Of course, she would also gather some backstory and medical records, just to be on the safe side, but one could never be too careful when it came to approaching somepony who may have a more permanent placement in ones life than others had, hmm?

As Tock's eyes went to meet her own, Scarcity would not turn her own gaze away from him, where she did allow herself to show some adoration towards this quirky, yet delightful stallion herself. A rare sight, as she usually tried to keep the same neutral face towards most she dealt with, as to not show what her intentions or thoughts were.

"I'm certain that such a driven and focused stallion as you, would be more than capable of creating such a device, Mr. Tock. Though perhaps if you wish for a little assistance, I could ask around some beings I know, and hear them if they have some expertise to lend? It would be my pleasure to do what I can to aid you."

Her gaze lingered on him for a little more, wherein she never blinked, but kept her sight fully on his eyes, before slowly turning towards Penny.

"As for the Everwood, if it holds properties akin to a few others specialized kinds of wood, such as Geyser Willow, I would assume they too would need a permit for whatever part of it you wish to work with. Perhaps once we are done with our current endeavor, I can put you in contact with somepony whom I know that deals with permits, and put in a good word for your competence? I'm sure you would adore him. He's a delightfully quirky little thing."

"Perhaps more than dragons once inhabited these islands..."

Karmic having visions of Atzy roaming this place, seemingly not as forced labor - as he couldn't imagine her being happy in that situation - were a strange turn of events that he weren't sure what meant yet. Perhaps she were planting memories or visions within Karmic's mind to try and garner sympathy, or distract the mare enough to take over the body for a time. Though there were of course the option that this were actual visions of her past, before she had ended up as a kind of invasive goo, which prompted several questions. Not only on how this were, as far as the sphinx were aware, these were dragon territories, but also how she had ended up in the state that she then had.

A paranoid thought entered her mind about how the two things were connected, including some unknown magical means, and an invading force of flying, scaled creatures wanting dominion over the other small islands near where their eldest had once gone to find their final rest. He would not speak of this thought yet, but it were certainly roaming his head for now, and would stay there as this evolved further in the strange direction that things had taken.

And speaking of directions, he would mostly follow Karmic now, and see where her visions would take her, only interfering to ensure she remained safe, but otherwise simply holding aloft the torch to light her path. It seemed more prudent to see where this would go for now, and then see if they found the diamonds later on.

"We still have some way to go, but you're darn straight, we're gonna go see him and get this sorted."

Happy really wanted to join her in flying around, when seeing how fun Aurora had it, but he had a cart to drag right now sadly, which didn't fly around well.

Looking at her go, he remembered the first time he had flown. Not the first time he had tried, which also stung in his memory, as that had been one in a long line of falling and finding out what pain felt like in an entirely new set of appendages. No, the first time he had actually flown for real, and felt the wing flow through his feathers. An indescribable feeling of being complete somehow, and where he were meant to be, rather than chained to the ground.

It had been something that made it hard to accept his disguise being an earth pony, rather than a pegasus, but he were supposed to blend, fit with the role, and not seem too remarkable, and earth ponies just fit the whole scheme better than a pegasus. He still had enjoyed taking flight whenever he had the chance though, and really, he had to try out his new, membranous wings eventually. It were gonna be a strange one, he were sure of it.

"Come on, let's save some time and have us a bit of a race. First one to use magic's a rotten cheater."

With that, Happy would run of as fast as he could with the cart in tow. He could get some pretty good speed going regardless honestly, though he knew he were gonna lose to Aurora. Flying beat walking any day, but that didn't mean they couldn't have a bit of fun.

Last looked towards the flower with a tentative look going over her open eye. It were certainly a remarkable sight, and the light made it look more dramatically than a piece of nature had any right being. It honestly seemed almost setup, like a photo shoot or trophy kill, and how she had not seen this before the princess actually surprised her a bit now that she thought on it. It weren't exactly well hidden, even if it were in a relatively unremarkable place near the cliff.

"Looks similar, though something's off. Can't put my hoof on it though."

When it came to these creatures, she'd honestly rather set a forty foot pole on them, rather than an extremity that could be chomped down on, yet the metaphorical expression were more meant to just highlight that this one seemed odd somehow.

She had only met these creatures very scarcely before, so she weren't sure what it were, there were just... Something about this that didn't seem right. Like they were looking at some sort of altered version instead of the ones growing on the humongous, worm-like creatures she had run upon to begin with.

Times like these she really missed having Hedge Trimmer here. Sure he had been of little worth in the fights they had at the shrine, but the exile that had stumbled across their shrine as he fled from the manetids, had been a great botanist, and could have helped them spot whatever were wrong with this picture in no time. Sadly he had met his fate a few weeks before Princess Luna returned to them. A victim of some of the plants he tried to cultivate to work as an extra line of defense for the shrine. A nice idea, yet seeing how it had ended, their leader had ordered them all to burn down the plants and if something tried to grow later on, to destroy it on sight before it reached maturity. Perhaps if he had stuck to just helping the infirmary, he would have still been alive and reachable for consultation on this sort of thing. Guess they had to try things on their own.

"It looks fine enough... Are you sure it isn't just a plant?"

Cherish were more curious and were floating closer to the flower, wanting to see it in more details. It were a rather pretty one in her eyes, though there were some strange, dark spots lower on its stem. Looked almost like a pearl of some kind, or a somewhat shiny fungus?

She'd reach the end of her bonds about a meter away from it and leaned down to look directly at the middle bead, trying to figure out what it were. It didn't look like a fungus of any kind she knew off, nor a beetle that were standing there for some reason. Honestly, if she didn't know better, she could've sworn that this almost looked like some kind of eye...

“Thank you. I… I’ll try my best to always be straightforward with you.”

There were no doubt in Omen's mind that Lin meant what she said, though her actions after that certainly made the Ki'nathar tilt her head a little in confusion. She weren't aware of the significance of the room, which hampered her understanding of why Lin gazed towards it after giving her reply. To Omen, it just seemed like Lin for no apparent reason wanted to look at a random room. A desire which she had participated in several times before, whilst waiting for something to happen.

On 7/9/2019 at 4:20 PM, EQ_Theta said:

“For example, the strands of hair from your mane. Not sure what you wanted to do when you pulled them off but someone in the village could help you come up with something. I can show you where or we could just go out and grab our supplies. It’s your choice.”

"...String?"

Omen were somewhat sure that these had been meant to be used for something, and string made sense in her mind. It were strange hair, that even now wriggled a little as if still alive on the top of her head. Seemed to be enough to make some string from that could be around Lin's or Sen's neck then, as some sort of necklace or something, Yet omen were drawing a blank on why exactly this had happened. Perhaps it were something with the scale that she wore around her neck, which had come from Lin? Like, she had thought that if Lin gave part of herself away, Omen should do so as well? That made sense in a way.

"Part of you, for part of me? Reason somewhere, but I do not know where. Sound like they are yours though. So you decide what to do. With them. With us. I will follow, and try to learn again."

Taking decisions weren't something Omen were all that good at doing, as she were still more of a servant than anything else, and as such, she'd rather if Lin made the decision on what they should do now and then just follow troop on that. It seemed too complicated to chose between going into the town and trying to form new memories of a place she had apparently forgotten, whilst searching for use of these strands of hair, or be on their way back to get their things and transport them to this place.

She had some desire to go and learn from this town though. It sounded important, and Elder Ghilan for one appeared to really want her to remember. If she couldn't do that, then perhaps she could figure out how things fitted in from the others, and hearing what they had to say about whatever had happened. Lin could tell her if it were true or not, and then, Omen would have at least some second-hoof memories to go with. That were something, yes?

Stare watched the whole scene unfold within seconds. From this strange mare going in and being oddly pushy on giving Storm some stew from her workplace, to the small introduction where she had waited until a there would be a silent moment to give a retort, and then to seeing Storm keel over and collapse after seemingly having an attack of some kind. Right after eating the stew no less.

Through it all, Stare had just stood there and watched, not doing much else than turn her head to look more on Storm than Matrix, as the bakers helper mare were collapsing on the floor. It simply happened too fast to really react, plus, Stare were not a mare who reacted with big emotions and the like. She felt concerned and wanted to do something on the inside, but from there to doing as many others would and rush over to try and help Storm, were a far way from her, and as such, she might appeared cold or indifferent to the whole situation.

And as for the new arrival, she didn't need to see the changing appearance in Matrix's face to know what were going on here, though it did help to just confirm what she had stood silently and observed were happening.

"Friends shouldn't poison eachother."

She expected that something would happen from this, and her horn began to glow a slight, pale hue as she were preparing to do what she thought had to be done. A little something which she had yet to have use for, though now it were starting to seem like the *better safe than sorry* approach that had convinced her to accept this, were truly in effect.

Before she got the chance to do anything though, the sound of the outside door opening would be heard, and a few seconds afterwards, Alonsus would stand there, smiling towards them.

"Terribly sorry to disturb, but I must ask Stare wh-at the hay?"

What sentence he had started to utter were disrupted as he saw Storm laying on the floor, and quickly wandered past Matrix to get over to her.

"She needs to go to the hospital. Can you take her?"

"Certainly! Hang in fair mare, for I, the great Alonsus, shall save you from your perils!"

With that, he'd start to scoop her up, and unless he were stopped, would rush past Matrix and gallop towards the hospital, with outbursts at random towards those in his way speaking of an urgent matter that he were let through. Matrix would have some time to respond to things before that though, yet if she didn't, she'd soon find herself with only Stare left in the building, though she would have been heading towards the door right after Alonsus, to try and use him as a sort of cover to sneak out, in case nothing happened prior to that.

@Rising Dusk

The loud, awkward apology, along with another bout of theatrical ways from the outsider mare, actually managed to calm the locals down some. There were several of their protectors over at the mare who had not tried to attack, and at this point, they could resign themselves to thinking that this mare were potentially dangerous, but not to them, and were simply just... Eccentric, to put it in a kind way. Long as she were not attempting to cast darkness upon them, they could live with another one that were strange in their area. Especially on this, most glorious of days.

One of the locals - a burly diamond dog with a small vest, necklace of bones, and about a dozen deep, old scars running on his muscular upper body - even raised a mug towards the mare and gave her a deep, echoing bark of approval. It seemed he were in a festive mood at least, that were for sure, though anyway to get even the first step of approval were good. others would follow soon as that first brick had been laid.

4 hours ago, Rising Dusk said:

Regaining her composer, she cleared her throat.  "A pleasure to meet you both.  And please darling, only my agents call me Captain... Call me Minty," she smiled and offered the small mare her hoof.  "Please accept my gratitude for taking care of my darling detective.  If there is anyway I can repay you all, I'll do what I can,"

"We are ever grateful that you sent our great savior, Minty, and it have been a great honor to tend to him. I'll uhm... Keep your word in mind, if I ever get to Equestria."

She had nothing that she wished for at the current time, for in the future? It were hard to pass up potential help from a mare that seemed to hold both power and position like this, even if the polite thing would be to just say that they were square, or something of the sort.

Yet, in Harrowmark the beings were practical, and often traded in favors, and there were already a half dozen things Wisp could imagine that she could use this one for, were she ever to get to Equestria, including some sort of travel pass for Chirpy, so that she could have a familiar face with her. She wouldn't be able to bear it if anything were to happen to him again. Especially not in another land, where returning from beyond were likely not happening. Not without some foul magic at least, and it were kinder to let him rest, than to put his spirit through that.

Touching the outstretched hoof gently, Wisp would make a deep bow with her hoof still making contact with the captain. Shaking on things weren't really how they did things around here, so she tried to meet the mare halfway and add in her own greeting, along with this physical contact with a mare who had the softest hooves she had felt in her life. Truly a mare who took great care of herself it felt like, or just one with a naturally great coat. At least compared to here, where Wisp were about as soft as you got, which by Equestrian standards were rather rough. Not Wisp's fault there weren't a spa to find in the entire country though, nor paved roads to avoid the dirt and nearby swamp muck that were impossible to not have contact with throughout the lives of the locals.

4 hours ago, Rising Dusk said:

"It appears both our lands benefited from the fall of this dark wizard Twisted.  His assault on Manehatten from so far a distance raised troubling concerns."

"𝕋𝕨𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕕 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕓𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕒 𝕡𝕝𝕒𝕘𝕦𝕖 𝕦𝕡𝕠𝕟 𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕕𝕤 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕤𝕚𝕩 𝕔𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕤. ℍ𝕚𝕤 𝕞𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕓𝕖𝕪𝕠𝕟𝕕 𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕤𝕙𝕠𝕣𝕖𝕤. 𝔼𝕧𝕖𝕟 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕤𝕦𝕡𝕡𝕠𝕣𝕥 𝕠𝕗 𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕘𝕠𝕕, 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕡𝕣𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕠 𝕓𝕖 𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕕𝕠𝕨𝕟𝕗𝕒𝕝𝕝, 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕨𝕖 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕘𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥 𝕤𝕒𝕧𝕚𝕠𝕣 𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕜 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥. ℝ𝕖𝕤𝕥 𝕒𝕤𝕤𝕦𝕣𝕖𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕟𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕝 𝕔𝕒𝕣𝕣𝕪 𝕠𝕟 𝕚𝕟 𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕝𝕖𝕘𝕖𝕟𝕕𝕤."

With things simmering down, Thistle too calmed, and released the magic she had been preparing to use against this outsider. She were still not too pleased with how things had gone, but she would attempt to move past it, and appraise this mare more fairly, rather than only judging on her boastful nature. For all she knew, this were perfectly reasonable behavior where she came from, though that would mark Equestria as quite the strange place in her mind.

As it seemed like there were some need for Rising to report to Minty, Thistle assumed that a brief overview of what happened from here were a fair thing to bring to the conversation. It would perhaps give some insight into how they saw the situation, rather than how this modest hero would present it himself.

"Hey, I love the spirited approach, but calm yerself a bit, would ya? You dunno if these are laced with some sorta trap that'll pop up once the lid gets opened."

Sure, her paranoid ideas of what could be with these had not gone through so far, but this were one anomaly in a sea of traps and tough lessons learned the hard way. Folks who buried their gold were none too happy getting robbed of it, and not trying to keep outsiders away were frankly rare. But hey, perhaps they had actually gotten a lucky break? Well not her, as she were blinded, but y'know, besides that.

"I might have some idea where you are speaking off. I saw no chairs there, yet what else you describe are familiar to me. Please follow."

It truly weren't long from here, but it would still take them about eleven to twelve minutes of walking.

"So... How do you know about it?"

Berry tried to get some conversation going here and get a bit more of an idea what sorta mare she were dealing with here. Lyriel wasn't really mixing into The Conspiracy the way that Berry had imagined yet, and since Nada liked her, she guessed she had to try and make a connection? Rather this than the changeling at least, that were for sure.

"When first I arrived here, I scoured the forest for a safe place to mark my grove. The pond were one which I considered for a long time, yet ultimately, I decided elsewhere. I'm afraid I cannot tell either of you were that may be though. I need my safe haven."

"Everypony can use that. The world's dangerous and full of robots, brain eating amoeba, and techno music. Real important to have a place to escape all the horrors of this world sometimes."

"Ox-ford."

A drum riff marking how incredibly lame that joke were bashed through the air, as they finally reached to the place where the screaming had been before, to find a soaked pony curled up into a ball and shaking. She seemed to have some small bite marks on her legs, likely to do with the really thin shrimps on the ground. Or rather, the ones who had escaped, not these. The ones here were flattened, courtesy of the four legged stone creature standing above the pony and licking her mane with his rocky tongue like some sorta over-sized dog. Just again, made of stone, and with the head and face remarkably similar to a certain actor from the human world.

"Hey look, Datt Mamon handled it for us. Kinda? She seems sorta... Catatonic I guess the word is? I bet she needs a pumpkin latte."

Summoning a wooden cup, Anomaly would pop the top of her head and dip it in, to retrieve a big ol' cup of delicious pumpkin latte, which she handed over to the mare. Poor thing were shaking profoundly and didn't care at all where this were from as she just took the cup and started to slowly and methodically, drink it a little by little, whilst starring somewhere beyond the trees with a harrowed look on her face. Poor thing could properly use a little mind erasure about the last five minutes or so.

@Blitz Boom The dining room has two large tables, that can easily hold a dozen ponies....each. One table is filled with bread, veggies, and fruit. The other has to Fah'lina's senses the better choices. Meat, and lots of it. In the middle is a circle of bread, topped with sliced meat and some fruit. "Dig In" Harmony says just as Serenade comes in with her father and the intern. Sunrise takes a seat at the first table, and starts to grab dishes with his magic, filling his plate. Serenade graviates to the meat table and soon has a plate filled with stuff.

“Okay, we have some time to spare. I will show you around and introduce you to someone. He’s with the artisans and could help make something out of this hair. I gave you that scale and necklace because Sen and I want to show you just how grateful we are. It is a gift and you didn’t need to do something like it but if it makes you happy, whatever becomes of this hair, I’ll wear it with pride. Besides, the fact that it is still moving is impressive in a creepy sort of way.”

Just the idea of it still moving on its own is already enough of a talking point for anyone to take notice, and it isn’t hard to avoid looking at it. Omen wearing a scale necklace is breaking tradition but the symbolism behind it isn’t completely lost. It serves as a reminder to always strive to be better, remembering who you once were and aiming to surpass old limitations. In a way, Sen and Lin want Omen to be better than them, to have the knowledge and skills to carry on when they themselves are no longer with her. Of course they will always find a way to stick together but with the assumption that they won’t live as long as Omen, it helps to be prepared.

Lin chuckled as she took one more look at the hair before putting it away. The overcast weather darkened the surroundings, indicating rain was to come. A light drizzle likely but it is the rainy season after all. It wouldn’t be surprising if this one becomes a thunderstorm later on. Terrible time to go out foraging but everyone’s got to eat and Shrimp will really need something healthier. Their first destination on the tour was a large hut, probably big enough to fit a the majority of the village under its roof. Located in the middle of the village, it was a sight that couldn’t be missed no matter where anyone is at any given time.

“This right here is the communal hut. Every village has one and it is where everyone gathers when there is something important to discuss or when there is a wrongdoer whose case needs to be decided on. Otherwise, the elder and the council does their work here. I don’t know what it is they do exactly but I can guess it involves a lot of talking. For the most part, they make sure the village is running well."

"Many homes are usually built on the trees with the ones on the ground reserved for elderly families. Wouldn’t want them to risk their health by climbing up and down all day. Otherwise, small specialty huts are found here: artisans, gatherers, and traders. Around the village are the hunters towers. They’re the ones watching out for trouble at all times.”

At the end of the very brief tour, they would eventually find themselves in a small hut with shelves lining the insides. The village isn’t the largest around but with the space mostly open, there isn’t much to see besides what Lin previously mentioned. Wood and stone tools are scattered about on the ground with an elderly longma hunched over and his back against the entryway.

“Grandfather? Have some time to spare?”

“Huh? Oh, ha ha! Of course I have time to spare! And you’ve brought your friend here… ugh, um… What’s her name again?”

“It’s Omen,” Lin turned to her sister as the elderly longma extended his claw to the Ki’Nathar’s head and brought his face closer to have a better look. A little too close that Omen might find a little unsettling “Omen, this is Grandfather Zo, the finest artisan this village has!”

“There she goes again with the praises but yes, if it is fine craftwork or family stories you need, you come to me! Lin says you're the one to thank for helping out with that mess with the last elder. You did a good thing, very good. Now, what can I do for you?"

Zo already showed his eccentric side by shoving his face right up to Omen’s, the graying and limp webbing along with a lazy eye hints to his very advanced age. There is a noticeable hunch on his back that is prominent when he sits down and a few darkened spots on his hide are visible under fair amounts of light. Besides that, he spoke with an upbeat and welcoming tone as he greeted Omen, likening that to one of those little shops run by small families in Equestria.

@Dji

  Silently Kaltrop slows his wingbeats, backpedaling his wings a small amount to lower to the ground at below normal Pegasus flight speeds. He hovers just as silently at the house before them and quietly motions to wordlessly check with the mare if its the correct house before landing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
@Catpone Cerberus
 Continuing to bob his tail, the draconequus presses a corner of one of the tailfins on the end of his large paddlefish tail into the small housecat's chest, encouraging it to latch on with it's tiny, needlelike claws & teeth. With it firmly sunk deep into what would count as Widdershins's flesh, he dangles the kitty in the air, playfully turning it around and letting it gnaw on him. Likely due, of course to the fishy scent & texture to the tail!
 Widdershins smiles at the one cat he's hooked to play with him, his attention now on it as he grins past the catpony not so much ignoring as giving an unmentioned encouragement.
@Blitz Boom and The Deej!
 As Cherish floated closer her incorporeal body displaced little in the surroundings, the immense flower quivering only slightly as plants are wont in slight breezes. Were it not for the fact that there were far too many other flora around to have an uninterrupted breeze, much less the gale force that it would take to move a giant flower bud like this with a stem as thick as most trees. Besides, as well aware as Last Stand was, when the plant life in Equestria cared enough to take bites out of passersby, it usually had not the intelligence to bother with subtly.
 The flower stands still, basking in this one ray of sunlight as unintelligent as plants get. The skin of its stem a mixture of dark green, a light purple and a very faint sparkle of Inexplicable Pink. Each of the three huge, fleshy petals on its bud easily thicker than a pony's army, its trunk thicker than the body of most ponies; any plan with it at all would require some considerable forethought.
 Forethought most often devoid of plants, as each tiny, lidless, button eye stares motionless upward. A small glint shines across each of the three little bumps, like the glint of a day's light off the back of a diminutive beetle of some sort.
{MATRIX TWANG}
Matrix wasn't about to just let this stallion barge in and take the body. No, she would step in front of him and levitate a nearby plate over. "Nope. Sorry. Please leave. Now." If either of them moved towards her, she would feel threatened and under attack, thusly reflexes would take over and she would smash the plate over their heads. As they would've been the instigator, she could plead self-defence and thus be acquitted of the assault charge. As for Button's situation? She was solid.The evidence was completely insufficient, and thusly she could not be convicted of the poisoning. It could be played off as a fainting spell from the self-injury, or various other natural causes.
As well, she had only put a few sprinkles of the poison in her bottle - the rest was genuinely sugar. This would ensure she wasn't found with a bottle of poison on her person. It had been a poison that dissolves quickly, is untraceable, but works just ask well, meaning they couldn't prove she planted the poison in the stew to begin with.
As of right now, she was completely innocent in the eyes of the law. She intended to keep it that way. She was sporting two pairs of tie-dye socks, thus her hoofprints were not left behind.
"Well? You gonna go?"
"*gasp* Pears! Awesome!"
Ziggy quickly went over to munch down on one of her favorite fruits. A troublesome one to find in Ponyville at times since it were a very apple dominated area, but oh so much better in her opinion. She'd enjoy these for sure,a long with a few other things she saw like banana and... She wasn't sure what it were, but it looked kinda hairy, so some type of large nut or something? Whatever it were, she were gonna have to try it eventually.
The mimic however, were very much like Serenade, and followed right over to the meat area, where she'd grab herself a piece of fish and start to munch on it rapidly, looking simply like how a squirrel would as she did so. Sure she could maw over a lot at once, but then it'd be done fast, and she liked to chew down these sorts of things instead. The gaping maw were mainly if she were in a hurry or were chasing her prey.
She did have a little side fun though, as she scurried over the table and placed herself in front of the intern, where she'd raise a paw up and make some playful squeaky noises to get the pony's attention. Soon as she had it, Fah'lina would open her maw wide open and let out a small hiss for a few seconds to show where the *space sharks* from before had come from, before closing up again and returning to gnaw on the fish tail, which were all that were left for the time being of her first meal at the table.
It had been Discord's idea that Omen's hair should be moving at all times, even in a complete vacuum. Meddling around with Celestia and Luna had made him feel inspired by their physical traits a few times, and when time had come for him to pick a form for his very own, obedient servant, he thought it both fun and sort of a jab against the sisters, to have one near him that shared some similarity with the alicorns. He had opted out of the horn and wings though, in favor of other things, such as the elongated tongue. It just seemed more fun to him than being a simple, boring copy of another creature.
That it were still moving were an unintended side effect that he hadn't considered, and honestly hadn't cared much about either. The most he had said of the situation were that he did find it a little amusing to see any loose hair that might have been yanked from Omen writhe around, and making others think that some sort of worm were coming towards them. Placed in the right sort of lighting, they certainly could look like some.
Omen gazed at the first building Lin stopped them at. It looked big and important, and as she spoke further on it, it became more tangible to think of it that way, as it correlated closely to the nearest pony equivalent. That being the court rooms/meeting centers she knew from some more rural parts of Equestria. A lot of boring, long worded talking going on there, where others came in and presented their case for why somepony needed to be punished, before others had to decide on the faith of whoever were on trial. The court rooms in Canterlot and such were different, with more official looking things going on too, ways to do things right, etc.
Seemed like all the homes in this place had some greater sense behind it, and it did explain one thing that Omen had been curious about. That being why there were some homes further up than the ground level. She had guessed they might just be watching posts or tree huts, but it seemed to be more focused on whoever had the strength to live up there, contra who needed the ground level as they were weakened and/or had goods for the village.
"Makes sense."
As a curious being with no real grasp on the concept of personal space, Omen hadn't any issue with the elderly longma they had run into within what appeared to be a kind of craftsman store. In fact, she bridged the distance herself a little and almost touched the elder with her nose, whilst sniffing the air in front of him. From this distance, he'd have to be legally blind to not see the pale, unblinking eyes that gazed curiously at him at the same time, and hopefully could see that she were essentially not a being with violence or disdain of any kind in mind.
She did gaze down briefly to see the claw, which she met with a hoof right at the tip, and shook it slowly up and down until Zo would stop the physical contact.
Varied beings had varied responses to actually talking with Omen, as the whispering voices that were projected into the heads of those around her were a somewhat unsettling thing for others to be faced with, but the elder seemed kind and welcoming so far, so perhaps it wouldn't be an issue to him. Though with the whole mind trickery of Solasan's schemes... It were hard to say for sure.
"Trying to make a gift for Lin. Not sure what. I think it is important though."
If Lin didn't present the hairs, Omen would, holding them wrapped up in her elongated tongue towards the elderly longma. It would be interesting to see what his response and ideas would be.
@Califorum
The mansion were quiet and darkened, as the ponies within had gone to sleep. A brief, flickering and pale light had been seen in one window as the thief would have approach, but gone out soon after and not reigniting.
Avoiding the guards wandering around were a smart move, and though it seemed almost too easy, the thief would be able to break into the first window she'd attempt, seemingly without any sort of resistance or consequences.
On the other side, were one of many rooms in the mansion. In this case an empty guest room, with a large, comfy bed made in an olden design, and a beautiful, carved dresser next to it. On the walls were a few paintings that like most of the furniture in the room, were clearly reprints of actual, expensive things. That being said, these were custom made, high quality items, would still be worth a nifty sum.
Several more things were in the room, which were dressed up as if you were looking at a house add from a few centuries ago. Whoever lived here, seemed to want things that oozed a certain style and class, but had either not enough funds for, or no interest in stacking everywhere with the real deal. At least not in here.
The door to the hallways would be locked from this side, so it would be easy to open and get out there, where she'd find vases, statues, more paintings, elegant couches and other luxuries lining the halls. A few things were missing here and there though, where there obviously should have been something. Mainly pedestals without something on them, or a break in the system of paintings and furniture. There seemed to be no obvious reason as to why this were however, nor why despite how large this place seemed and how certain areas weren't used, it all seemed to be clean.
There would be no indication which way any sort of vault or area with riches were to be found here, and many doors without any signs or the like to show where they led. The thief would have to go at this the old fashioned way it appeared.
@Lucid_Nightlight
The mare didn't even respond with a whimper or anything as she were being talked to. She seemed rather broken and in need of some sort of- Wait, what the?
"What? I'm fixing this."
You're standing with a plunger, who have a suspiciously pony-face sized rubber part...
"Well, duh. I have to fiz her up all nicely and good again, right? So, I use my special plunger for it. The trick lies in the brain altering fungus, hehe."
Against his better judgement, the author did not interfere as Anomaly put the plunger on the mare's face, and started to plunge her face. Some convulsions went through the mare, but she seemed fine, and smelling of burnt pine cones after a few seconds, once the plunger went off,a nd looked around confused.
"Uhm... Where am I?"
"Private island for a wedding silly. Now you go talk to the other ones where it's snugly and safe."
"Wait, don't I know you from somewheeee..."
She were trying to say something when Datt Mamon had shouted his name, grabbed her with his surprisingly large maw, and ran off towards where he had seen others before.
Sometimes I wonder if giving him to you was such a wise choice.
"No backsies!"
@Widdershins @Dji
"Seems like there's some weird bugs on the base, but it's still a beautiful plant."
It were a hefty thing for sure, but in its own way, Cherish could see some elegant beauty in the way it just sat there, basking in the sun with the sun gleaming off the three glistening bugs, as well as the thick trunks and surprisingly delicate looking flower petals.
It had been so long since she had left the castle grounds that she had forgotten what sort of plant life she used to see, so she couldn't tell if she had ever seen something like this before, but that wasn't on her thoughts as she almost mesmerized by this creation of nature, lifted a hoof and reached it forth to make contact with one of the flower petals. She were corporeal as this took place, wanting to feel the delicate and potentially touch petals beneath her cold touch.
Last would approach, but so far stay silent and make sure that she remained in front of Twilight, to keep the princess from harm. As this might be a dangerous situation, she had also drawn her sword, which she now held in her muzzle by the hilt. A hard to miss weapon, considering the white flames that licked against the blade constantly, yet for some reason did not burn or give off heat. Obvious as to why when you knew off the magical properties, and how these flames were mainly meant to hurt being who traversed on other planed of existence, such as ghosts, but something of a curiosity if you only saw flames of any kinds as being the regular, burning kind.
"Alonsus is needed to bring this mare away. Please stand asi-"
*Crack*
As Alonsus had stepped forward, not wanting to know why this mare why try and bar him passage, he had gotten the plate smashed onto his head, which made the otherwise pleasant grin on his face stiffen, and once the pieces of the plate had fallen down, he would glare directly at Matrix.
This would not be the Alonsus that the locals knew off though. His glare were boring straight into you, with an ominous, angry look that silently promised substantial physical harm to whomever were trying to act against him.
The eyes of the stallion were not the only thing that seemed to change on a dime, as his whole stance and facial expression went from speaking of a jovial bundle of muscles, to a more intimidating presence, whom almost radiated an intimidating aura around him, much like you'd see from a bodyguard, or some sort of gang member who were out to teach you a lesson.
The later were in fact, the actual truth when it came to Alonsus. Though it were years past, and he had done everything to distance himself from it - including moving to a new town far away where he only needed to inform his parole officer and whoever he worked for about his past - Alonsus had been working as muscle for a gang for a good while back where he came from, and still had the ability to inflict some serious injury on others like he did back then. In no small part because he had ensured that being in prison, going to meetings or finally getting away from everything and starting somewhat fresh, he made sure to keep up his physique, and he hadn't exactly been originally brought into the gang because he looked like a regular pony. He were a large, brawny earth pony with thick packed muscles, and whilst these days he mainly used that for appearances and to be able to help with lifting heavy loads, he'd be just as able to grab hold of this mare and break her through a wall if she tried to smash through his head again like that.
He felt blood seep down from where the impact had caused the porcelain to break through his skin, but didn't care about that in the slightest. He had something to do here, and this mare were starting to show that she wanted to stand in the way of that.
6 hours ago, Sweet Scoop said:
"Well? You gonna go?"
"Get out of my way before I break the door with your face."
He tried hard to keep this side of himself away most times, which in part were also why his personality were shown to be a little over the top. He were trying to compensate all the old bad things with pure positivity, though right now, this were becoming a tense moment where a mare needed to go to the hospital, and yet somepony here were trying to stop him from getting her there, and had attacked him for it. She were frankly making him too angry to care about appearances right now, and the deep, grovelling tone of his voice should emphasize that he meant business, though she still might not care. She'd have to do something else though if that were, as Alonsus would push forward again, though this time not trying to be dainty and avoid hitting things. He'd push through like a rampaging rhino, and if this mare were smart, she'd get out of his way before she'd get trampled, then try her scheme again another time.
As for Stare, she just stood and looked on as this happened, though her eyes did get a slight nervous glance to it as she saw Alonsus unfold and peel away the peaceful, jolly facade. It were not something she had ever expected to see from him, even if he were justifiably angry about being hit in the head with something that would have likely knocked out a lesser pony.
@Blitz Boom Sunrise and Harmony giggle, and watch as the food is devoured. Before Harmony gets up and walks into the kitchen. Serenade chuckles as she watches Fah'lina. The Intern Shrieks, then faints. Sunrise rolls his eyes and eats his dinner. Serenade finishes her dinner and rolls onto her back, "sooo...good" she burps, "sorry, excuse me"
"The locks don't have traps, and even if they did, they are so rusted it wouldn't work." Ruby simply stated as she kept breaking the locks "Besides, if I open the lids with the shovel, it will take the hit if there is a trap that still somehow works." "Because only kind of trap that could reach me is magical one, and that would have activated already." Right when she finished her sentence, Ruby hit the shovel under the lid of one of the boxes and opened it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nada to her usual style just listened the conversation, though this time she didn't have anything to comment after it, but she had something else to say "I'm actually surprised it is still recognizable if we really talking about the same place. I saw how the lake and its surroundings changed during my time there, so I kinda just assumed a lot smaller pond would change lot more."
@Widdershins
Cerberus wasn't sure how to read Widdershins, but he assumed the answer was 'go ahead' to his wordless question since it wasn't negative either, so he made his way closer to the moving tail, observed it for a moment, mostly to see where his smaller friend was so that he wouldn't harm it accidentally, and then bounced at the tail. Widdershins wouldn't be able to feel too much from Cerberus' pounces and playing, because though he pretty much mirrored the movements and actions of the cat, he had hooves and flat teeth like a pony.
“Whoa, what is with the voice going around my head? It’s like you are talking all around me. There’s just one of you though but you sound like there are more.”
“You’ll get used to it, grandfather. It grows on you.”
Zo hadn’t noticed Omen shaking her hoof at it made contact with one of this claws. Despite making that comment on her method of speaking, it didn’t cause him to recoil in fear. A little uncoordinated and dissonant as he seemed to respond likewise but sound a little surprised. Lin wasn’t quite sure when this developed as he never exhibited this behavior before. However, she would continue by pulling some of Omen’s hair from her saddle bag and show it to her grandfather, which distracted him from his current spell of confusion. As for grandfather, it he just decided to go along with his and hope the talking sound in his head wouldn’t drive him to insanity.
“You want me to make a gift out of those worms?! Are you crazy!”
“No, it’s hair. Omen’s hair. She’s wondering if you have some ideas about it.”
“Hair… Oh I see, and if it is for a gift, you better leave now. It’ll ruin the surprise. Go on! Come back later.”
Despite his age, Zo started pushing Lin away from his little workshop. His lack of physical strength didn’t deter him one bit and he somehow managed to move his granddaughter away a little. She got the idea and decided to comply, albeit silently as she couldn’t provide a retort with Zo muttering gibberish out loud. Conversely, the elderly longma pulled Omen inside his workshop. Maybe it is better to get some supplies now to pass the time.
It is a cluttered mess inside, shelves upon shelves of tools and completed pieces of work adorned each nook and cranny with very little room to move. Strangely, his table seems to have more space than the rest of the hut and right beside it, a wooden stool for Omen to sit on and watch. The longma grabbed whatever tools were closest to him and began work, starting with all of the strands of hair he got from Lin. Weaving it in and out, it appears to be a braid of some sort and reinforced with some wooden picks and string to hold it all together into a shape that couldn’t be discerned at the moment. Then with some leftover strands, he made a second one. Whatever it is he has planned, he won't say for now. Even it will be a surprise for Omen.
“Hair is the last thing I expected to work with but if this is for my granddaughter, I’ll do it. You left a good impression on Lin and Sen. She told me all about it, and besides her brother, she has nothing but praise for you. How about I tell you a story or two about your friends to pass the time? You probably want to know more about them.”
Mariposa was in a strange mood today. The pegusus, of a magenta hue and with short, violet wavy hair was flapping her wings lazily as she flew through town, not really paying much attention to anything.
Just as she was landing, she accidentally knocked into someone, causing the two to tumble over.
"Oh....ohmygoodness!" Mariposa recreated, "I'm so sorry... I didn't mean... are you alright?" She asked, helping the stranger up.
Matrix looked him over for a good moment. He didn't seem too bad of a threat. Rather, since he was an earth pony, it wouldn't be so hard to dismantle the situation. Stepping backwards a step, she focused, zoning in on the stallion.
She cast a lullaby spell on the stallion. In success, which she felt was likely due to his species, he would plop asleep within a few simple seconds. If this happened, she would up and walk outside, a new idea in her mind. As she'd pass Stare, she would stop to speak. "I'm legally innocent. Think about it." She would step outside, shutting the door behind her, walking casually down the street, depositing the cup the stew was in inside a public trash can. She'd smile to herself, knowing her plan had worked and she couldn't be convicted of murder nor assault.
It was always an awkward to be sitting in on a conversation about one's self as if they weren't sitting on the road among the three of them.  At least they were at a point in calming the town enough that he wouldn't need to insert himself to keep spells from flinging at each other.  Rising Dusk didn't say anything, but the gathering of magic for the specter pony didn't go unnoticed by the detective.  Rather familiar with the light magic wielded by the priestess and the goddess that saved him upon his visit to Harrowmark.  The urge to get up to his hoofs was annoyingly foiled by his rump not wanting to move from the ground.  The detective sighed and just continued to listen.  The Captain and Wisp seemed to be getting along well enough, even if the hoof shake was mildly awkward.  Not that he was expecting much in those regards with the vast cultural difference.  He could see Wisp being the first of the town to visit Equestria, short of this queen he hasn't met yet making other decisions.
Finishing the hoof shake, The Captain returned her hoof to the ground.  Wisp should have no worries, The Captain always kept her word and hopefully the unicorn of Harrowmark would be able to capitalize on it in the future.  Finally getting to the meat of why Rising summoned her as earlier as he did.  Rising Dusk knew the story on this end, not that he could forget any of it.  But while Wisp had been working hard to refer to him by his name, it quickly devolved into calling him great savior.  It was mute at this point to offer up any corrections, seeing as he'd already been threatened with having to see some sort of stone carving of himself the next time he shows up.  Hopefully they get his good side.  The Captain stared down at the specter pony and listened intently to the story of what happened when sending her detective off to fight the dark wizard.  Not as detailed as she was used to receiving, but she knew there would be a more full report upon their return to Manehatten.
"Well well, Manehatten's Spell Breaker and now Great Savior of Harrowmark.  You're racking up some nice titles darling," the larger unicorn jested with a honeydew giggle that she even raised a hoof to cover her mouth a bit for.  "What will you ever do with me," he replied to their little inside joke.  Detective was the only title that he preferred, but something always drove ponies to attach more fancy titles to things.  The Captain herself had her own laundry list of titles that most were only known to higher elites in Equestrian society.
To the matter at hoof though, she took on a more business type demeanor.   "We currently have a witch of the wilds named Lily Monkshade in custody that we believe to be an apprentice of his.  Twisted's first attack on our city came in the form of polluting the air with mind control spores that my darling detective dealt with swimmingly.  Enough to the point where the dark wizard had to abandon the tactic and I also believe that was the moment Rising discovered he was using borrowed power, yes?" she tapped her chin in thought.  Rising Dusk nodded in confirmation.
"The next wave came as a three prong attack.  He sent three wicker ponies that bleed fungus with some strange wasp creatures with more mind control capabilities at our main street.  Three of my agents dispatched the wicker creatures and destroyed the wasp hives along with the vast majority of the already spawned bugs.  A few managed to escape, but not before being infected by Crimson Pollen," she informed the trio.  Rising's ears perked a bit.  Bash used his last Crimson Petal?  Poor guy.
"Let's see...  A dozen wicker axemen with an elderly caster attacked your friend's workshop.  When the battle wasn't going his way, he attempted to fuse the wicker monsters into one big one, but Scarlet managed to stop it before it could complete itself.  You'd be so proud of our Junior Officer Rising.  We also took the elderly pony into custody.  Before you ask, everypony in the workshop was unharmed."  Well that was good to hear.
"And lastly the vile wizard attacked one of our schools with crystal spiders and a giant abomination of a monster.  Myself, Flare Blitz and Wind Gale slew the abomination and spider queen on the other side of the portal.  They managed to web up many students and teachers, but we saved them before they were taken through.  All of them have been freed from the webs and returned home.  I'll be visiting with the mayor and Princess' upon my return for a full status report, but I refused to remove myself from the map room until I received a beacon from your cutie mark.  The city is in quite a bit of chaos darling," she finished her report.
KARMIC & ATZY
"Why are you showing me this?" Karmic whispered more to herself but Enzo was close enough to listen in. She was watching the filly version of the changeling in her head play with some rocks before seemingly hearing something and took off down the path, heading down the right tunnel at a fork in tunnel. She wasn't waiting for an answer from Atzy and shouted after the filly. "Hey! Wait!" and then began running after the filly, despite knowing that it was a vision and that Atzy couldn't hear her.
AURORA LIGHTS
"A race," Aurora repeated and hovered while following Happy. "A race over this flatland? To where? There's no landmarks around here to make a finish line of!"
TWILIGHT SPARKLE
Twilight herself had no choice but to move forward with Cherish so her bond wouldn't strain her. She walked near the flower but was cautious and stayed a few steps away. However, due to the sheer size of the petals and such, she could see things were a lot clearer close up. Her ears flicked in response to Cherish's observations. She did backstep a couple more though when Last stood in front and she shook her head. "Maybe I shouldn't be standing so close. I just didn't want Cherish to feel pain if her bond was stretched too much. And besides, this flower looks positively radiant," Twilight told the ghost and guard before squinting her eyes when she saw three identical glints on the plant. "Are the black spots on the petals meant to glint? If they're a part of the make-up of the petals themselves then no, they shouldn't. However if these black bumps are not a part of the petals ...."
@Widdershins
DAWN STREAK
Dawn gave a huge sigh of relief when she back on solid ground and looked up slightly at the drake. " .... I thank you for ... for taking me home," Dawn said with such effort it looked like it was painful. Most likely she wasn't used to thanking others for help. "You look small enough ... do you want to come inside?"
Fah'lina can't help herself as the intern faints, and jumps on top of the mare's head, then raising her paws and posing as if she had just won a race and were basking in the adoration of fans. About ten seconds later, she'd jump down, go over, and grab hold of a crustacean which she'd start to munch down with a noticeable crunching sound.
Meanwhile, Ziggy see's Serenade fall back after getting filled up with plenty of meat, and wanders over with a half pineapple slice sticking out of her muzzle, and pokes to her friends stomach a few times.
"Hehe, you're gonna have a lot to swim off later. Big squishy tum tum."
@Califorum
After the third room would have been ransacked for smaller items to nick, a door would open a few meters away, with the faint light in the room bathing the one who had just exited.
It were a stallion in his forties from the looks of things, with a pale-blue coat, short black mane, and a short, bushy tail. He'd be holding a candlelight as he didn't want to turn on the light and potentially wake up others in the household, so the thief wouldn't be guaranteed to be exposed just yet, depending on where this stallion would end up walking.
"Hmm... I best be sure..."
He'd wander straight towards where the intruder were, which might alarm her, but he'd then pass her and with a key, open up a door that wouldn't be easy to access normally, and creak it open to see what went on in there. Seemingly nothing, and this were a far more impressive room than the first one the outsider had been into, which marked it as a rather important room. Potentially the master bedroom.
Seeing nothing, he'd close the door again and lock it, before letting out a great sigh and shake his head.
"He can't keep going like this..."
He set down the candle holder on a chair next to the thief, which would bathe some light on her if she hadn't moved at that point, though he didn't look at her. He instead withdrew a small flask from the shirt pocket of the pajamas he were wearing, and took a swig, before absentmindedly picking up the holder and wandering off down the hall in the direction that the intruder had been heading before.
Unless of course, at any point, the thief would interfere with things or draw attention to herself in some fashion.
@Catpone Cerberus
Inside, she'd find a rusted through spring mechanism that seemed to have been designed to throw a bag of something foul smelling at whoever opened it. Likely some sort of toxin, yet whoever had put this down there had apparently not thought of getting materials that would last the ages, giving easy access to the gold within.
"Phew, smells like elderberries who'd been lying in the sun for four days. Y'know, before getting sat on. What's in those things? Old, dirty laundry or some sorta thing? We're gonna need to get the gold to a cleaner if that is, because that right there smells like it'd melt ya nose right off."
The fourth of the five chests would have not malfunctioned, and whatever defensive mechanism were in that, would activate. Be it a powder, some sort of liquid, spell, or whatever. One of the traps would still be active, though potentially not as potent as it once were.
@Catpone Cerberus
"I mainly go by what you said, of the rocks around it. I have only seen one such place yet, so I do hope it is that, though I will say that I cannot recall seeing anything that proved it were once used for anything. A lot of vegetation had started to take hold when I last saw it however, so there may be something hidden beneath."
It had been around on the western side of the grass, and started to reach the rocks when she had been there. A somewhat small layer of thick, pale-dark vines with dull, green spikes lining it, that seemed to grow in the shades, and latch on to whatever it could. Something which they'd likely see soon enough, as Lyriel lead them towards a collapsed entrance to the area. A few tips of this overgrown vine bundle were shown to be poking out through some of the rocks, and in their own pace, seek for new surface to latch on to.
She'd bow down and gently put a hoof on the plant. An action which would make her eyes full of sadness, whilst she kept running her hoof around the tip of this strange vegetation.
"I don't know what this is, but it feels as if it have long been held away from the gentle caress of the earth mother."
"What do you mean?"
"It screams when touched. Alarmed somehow. It felt distant and unwilling to speak when first I saw it, but this is different. Something have changed. Does any of you know what this plant is?"
"Not a clue. Nada, you have any sort of idea?"
@Lucid_Nightlight
If you wanted gifts, perhaps you shouldn't have kidnapped them? Doesn't give any time to ready something.
"Stop using logic, human thing! This is my island, and logic's a naughty word."
"Before you proceed to talk with... Whomever seem to have slighted you, may I suggest we go on? I believe I can hear some rumbling from the Candle Thread area, which may hold another of your... Unwitting guests."
"Right, saving and stuff. We go do that, then forge the guests into a large key chain."
That was Not the point of what Lucid were saying!
"I weren't really listening to everything. Just something about gifts, key chains, and bags. Did he say we should take them to a shopping mall then?"
Just... Go on and try to save others...
"Yeppers. Super Anomaly, to the rescue!"
A cape manifested on the draconequus as she grabbed hold of her little hamster friend and walked quickly in the direction he pointed them towards, whilst making *whoosh* sounds.
@Emerald<3
Mariposa would find that she had run into a filly of mixed heritage, who would take the offered help to get her up, but look none worse for the wear.
The wings, teeth, and overall appearance of the filly did seem to scream of a strong bloodline of bat pony, yet her mane, tail, and color scheme would suggest otherwise, as pure-blooded thestrals tended to be colored between dark grey and pure black, to blend in with the night surroundings they usually roamed through. This one however, were out during the day, which were why she had to wear the large glasses with the colored lenses in. It helped to mitigate the sun from not blinding her naturally light sensitive eyes.
"Yessire, I'm all fine. Gary? Are you okay too?"
From her tall mane, a rather larger spider would poke the front of his grey, hairy body out, and respond in a small hissing sound which of course, she couldn't understand, yet somepony who could understand insects and potentially arachnids, might be able to hear this as *Not squished. Is fine.*
The spider glanced at the mare who had run into them with his black, beady eyes, but just seemed curious, and would retreat back into the mane if she seemed to react hostile to his presence. Some here in Ponyville didn't like a spider his size - doubly so as he were a hunting spider variant, so he didn't make web to catch his prey, but jumped after them - and he had resigned himself to hiding and stay alert when they were in the open streets, so he could get out of the way of anypony who would try to make him into mush.
"Hehe, all seems okay here. Are you okay miss?"
The filly looked up with a big smile and a glimmer of youthful wonder and friendliness dancing in her eyes. she had just arrived here a day and a half ago, and had spent most of that time hanging out with her father, or staying at home and trying to help clean up etc. as Stargazer had lots of things to do during the rebuilding of Ponyville, so not a whole lot had met her. She had hung around a few of the locals foals though, with varied results. Pipsqueak seemed to get along well with her though, even if his parents had sent some nervous glances at the strangely-clad half-blood who were giggling and posing for a few of their sons pictures. It had seemed fun to the filly, and she hoped to see the pictures once they were done. Should look great.
@Sweet Scoop
Alonsus would have trampled straight past - and potentially through - Matrix, had she not done her spell, yet he were brought low quickly by this, and would slump down to his stomach a few centimeters from where he would have hit her. It were kinda lucky that he didn't still hit her with his mass after he had been put asleep, though it could have been a rather effective way of dealing with her, and who could say how she'd deal with being trapped beneath her *friend* being carried by a bundle of heavy muscles? Might just be so heavy that she couldn't do anything.
Yet, as it stood now, she'd leave with a cliffhanger, which Stare wouldn't respond to, as she instead walked right over to check up on her coworker and Storm, to see if they were okay. Beyond the sleep spell and poisoning that were. She were more thinking about potential wounds from hitting something, but they seemed fine.
The words that had just been spoken rung through her head through this though. Even though Stare knew what had happened, and Alonsus would surely take her side on this, what proof would they have? There were a lot of poisons that would be hard to track, and they could blame this whole thing on either the head trauma Storm already had, or some sort of food allergi/food poisoning. Legally, it would properly be futile to try and prove anything about Matrix.
Raising her head to look at the door the mare had wandered out of, Stare would fire up her horn and prepare to cast a spell, whilst muttering something to herself, in a voice lower than she already spoke normally.
"There are other ways."
With that, she'd finish her spell, and teleport the three of them to the hospital. There, she'd inform the nurse that Alonsus had just been hit with a rogue sleep spell, and that they should focus on Storm, whom had knocked herself out in a spout of erratic behavior, which might mean she had gotten poisoned by something. They'd make sure to get Storm checked up on and given some general anti-toxins against common poisons, then upgrade it rapidly if it seemed not to work. One way or another, Storm were going to be fine, and would eventually wake up to find one of two ponies there, depending on how long she had been out. If it were less than four hours, Stare would sit near her bed and read a small book about ancient weaponry, whereas if it were longer than that, Alonsus would have taken over, and would be chuckling lowly to himself, whilst slowly reading a hardcover of varied news paper cartoons, gathered up into a large book for the enjoyment of whomever wanted to read it in the hospital.
“You want me to make a gift out of those worms?! Are you crazy!”
“No, it’s hair. Omen’s hair. She’s wondering if you have some ideas about it.”
“Hair… Oh I see, and if it is for a gift, you better leave now. It’ll ruin the surprise. Go on! Come back later.”
Zo's actions were followed closely by the mare, who tried to figure out how to approach him now after the way he had reacted to a few different things.
First off, the voice seemed to have disoriented him, which Omen were not too unfamiliar with. It were mainly either ignored or got strange looks - like with Stargazer - but being disoriented or confused were not the rarest thing she had run into, at least not among ponies. As she didn't know too much about interactions like this with longma, as she could only really remember Sen and Lin, Omen had to draw some parallels elsewhere to try and understand and adapt to things here. Sen and Lin had reacted pretty calmly about the whole thing, and barely mentioned it in the time they had known one another, and the Ghilan seemed to not react to it either, but with this one, her memory were only up to 4 longma she had interacted with, and when she ran into reactions that she hadn't seen in any of the other three, she'd have to try and compare elsewhere, and since ponies were the majority population in the world, it were easier to go with them, even if longma looked more like dragons than that.
Another thing then were the hair, which he seemed to regard as worms before he were corrected about them being hair, and insistingly pushing Lin out of the room. She wasn't sure what to make of this, other than thinking that perhaps this meant she could put her hair on a hook and use it to fish, but perhaps there were some lesson in this that she could draw from eventually.
She'd be following to leave alongside Lin, as she weren't sure if she were supposed to leave too, when the elderly longma had turned and grabbed hold of her. At which point, she stopped dead in her tracks, and followed along obediently. He wouldn't find her resisting much more than the time it took for her to adjust her path at the very start of this short trip into some sort of work shop. There were many tool on the walls at least, and as she were let go off, Omen went over and sniffed a few off them, before tentatively poking to something that kinda reminded her of a screwdriver.
In the time he had done the first bit of work, Omen would have poked a few things, taken a look around the room to see what were here, and accidentally pushed a bowl to the floor with her tail. It almost hit too, before a gate opened beneath it, made it fall through, and then down from another gate opening above her to land on her back. She'd be able to put it back there after that, and safely close the gates, though eyes were standing ready and glaring outside. It seemed the unformed siblings were back out and about.
23 hours ago, EQ_Theta said:
“Hair is the last thing I expected to work with but if this is for my granddaughter, I’ll do it. You left a good impression on Lin and Sen. She told me all about it, and besides her brother, she has nothing but praise for you. How about I tell you a story or two about your friends to pass the time? You probably want to know more about them.
"Yes. New siblings are strange. Thoughts and emotions, I do not understand. History that makes their faces wrong when they tried to speak. Sen squirming when he sleeps. This place, with many bad things said. Their past is important, yes? I want to hear, and answer too.
Ask about you. Mother would want to know they have other family. Thought them gone. All of them. Strange I heard them say nothing about you. I think? They say I were in town before. No memory of it. Perhaps they said something there?"
Omen for one couldn't remember either of her friends speaking about a grandfather before, but if this word - along with granddaughter - were used like with ponies, that must mean that they did have a blood relative. Mother would surely want to know about that, the next time Omen saw her. It might be important, but mostly it were because this regarded family, and since Sen and Lin were part of theirs now, it seemed important to bring up some that were still lingering from way back before Lin became what she now were.
It were something reserved for beings who actually saved their country in their time of peril, which even in the millennia of record keeping that had been made in Harrowmark, had only in one form or another, been used to describe nine beings. Eight ponies, alongside the monstrous Ogruf Hammertail, who had lead the combined packs of diamond dogs in defense of invaders some nine hundred years ago, and emerged not only victorious, but as a conqueror who took the entirety of the ships, carts, treasure, food and such from the retreating armies, and claimed them for the throne of Harrowmark. It left him as quite a figurehead for his people in this land, and to this day, he remained the only one of his kind in this country who had ever been knighted. Those of his bloodline that still lived were generally proud of this, and it were not uncommon for some of them to seek to live up to their heritage. One of the reasons why there weren't a whole lot left of them sadly.
Wisp had looked like it stung when Lily's name had been brought up, and she were highly reluctant to speak up about knowing who that mare were, yet among these powerful beings, were she not to offer what information she could? She had pushed herself because she thought that answer were yes, though she did not look forward to what she had to gdo as she scurried along to find what the high priestess had asked of her.
It might seem like it were easier to just eradicate the spiders entirely and not risk it, but the ecosystem of Harrowmark were one who required certain creatures in it. Among the more important ones, were actually the crystal spiders, whom even if they were a danger to anyone who crossed them, were also voracious hunters of zombies and certain wicker creatures, which helped reduce the number of fatalities those could cause. Had to be more control of the varied towns now until a new matriarch got things going again, but they'd stabilize in due time.
If she'd take her up on her offer, but wished not to go over there and mingle with the ponies who did not currently see her as a threat anymore, Thistle could float near and have some things brought over. It seemed like a nice gesture to do towards one who had clearly had a stressful day because of Twisted as well, and since Minty had to deal with him and his ways, did she not deserve so celebrate his fall as much as the rest of them? Thistle would say yes. At least now that the captain had become less of a dramatic, yet well-intentioned individual.
"Seers..."
Enzo rolled his eyes as he spoke this word. He should have expected her to suddenly run off, unaware of her surroundings, and yet here they were, and he had been caught off guard as she had wandered further in. Praise be the elders that this place had been carved out for creatures even larger than himself. otherwise, he wouldn't hav been able to follow as he then did, to ensure that the mare were kept safe, as well as searching for answers to this mystery of what may have been here, and why - if this were memories and not just lies - Atzy wished for Karmic to see this. Perhaps they may end up uncovering some grim truth that had quite literally been buried long ago, and not just waited to be brought to light.
"Sure there are. That big ol' tree 'round two hundred and fifty meters ahead? That's the goalpost."
Happy set himself into a spring as he galloped towards the large tree ahead. It were a good place to catch ones breath anyway, since it'd provide some shade, but for now, that right there were their target, and even if he were gonna lose out to Aurora, Happy weren't gonna trail too far behind if it were up to him.
So he ran and ran as his pulse went up, and he felt sweat pibiling forth on his legs and forehead, and his breath become heavier. Honestly, he were having a great time just mashing ahead and jumping once in a while if he saw something that'd stumble him if he just kept on running in one line. It made him feel wholesome in a way to just enjoy some good running in a beautiful landscape, without having to worry about being caught out or hunted down if he showed off some of his true self by accident. And to think, in the human world he had openly rolled his eyes at joggers who were pretty much all about the same thing. Guess that were just one more of the multitude of things that changed with him after landing in what he'd consider to be a world he actually felt at home in.
Y'know, after the torture, forced transformation, and having to deal with changeling drones who hated how the queen liked him more than them. No roses without thorns, eh?
Mariposa placed a hand over her heart, exhaling in relief, "Yes, I'm just fine."
"Thank Celestia." She commented, smiling happily, "My name's Mariposa. What's your name?" She asked.
Her eyes landed on the spider and instead of screaming, she smiled.
"I'm glad you're fine too, sir." She commented, "I would have felt awful if you were hurt too." She turned back to the filly, "Is the spider yours?" She asked, clapping her hooves together excitedly, "He's just so cute!"
@Blitz Boom Serenade groans, she is in a food coma. "Soo...good" Haramony walks over, and nuzzle her. "Come on, can't have you sleeping in the dining room. Your father already does that already." Serenade gets picked up in a flickering magic glow, "This way my dear" She inclines her head toward Ziggy and drags/lifts the well-fed Siren to the backyard, where a large pool is. Ziggy can see it's actually connected to the Bay through at least one underground tunnel. Harmony puts her daughter down on a lawn chair, then turns to Ziggy. "She'll be like this for a few, apparently my cooking is" She rears up onto her hind legs, and puts her front leg to her chest "Princess Level worthy" With a *clop* she falls back down, "Eventually she'll end up in the water, until then. Would you like to stay, or would you like the bit-tour?"
"How about we not turn them into a key chain. We should give then key chains."
"You should also build a giftshop. What is an island without a giftshop?"
Lumen answered the question.
"An island without a giftshop."
"That's right."
Lumen, Lucid, and Novia followed Anomaly to where she was going.
“I’ll be honest with you, I did not understand about half the things you said. From what I gathered, they didn’t mention anyone else in the family. They’re somewhat right about it. Among anyone who could be traced into the lineage, only I remain. On their mother’s side, both passed away from old age. And from my side, my dear partner passed on from sickness. With my child and his beloved gone, it’s just me and their children. Even so… I think I’m also living on borrowed time. Could be gone in a year or two, or maybe even tomorrow. I don’t think about it, which is why I distract myself with this kind of work. Gotta make myself useful with the time I have left.”
Longma have an average lifespan of about 150 years. Dying of old age is about as lucky as anyone got. Disease is a lot more common, especially if they are in season. The rains may come bearing a blessing for the plant harvests but if not careful, it may also lead to proliferation of diseases. Zo may not look like it but with his vision blurring, his mind not as sharp as it once was, and his bones feeling rather frail, his guess on his own remaining time may be spot on. He’d be lucky to live five more years but he wasn’t always the busybody he is now, and that led to many problems in his youth. Still, he is content with what he got, no point in wishing he was born different.
“And they didn’t mention anything about me because they couldn’t find me. I wasn’t around when Solasan went mad with power. When my child was taken away, I tried fighting it, doing everything I can to get the elder to reconsider. Of course he threatened to go after me next so regretfully, I fled. I stayed away from any village in the forest and lived in the wilderness for many years. It is only recently I returned and went back to making crafts. Good thing the village remembers me.”
Zo didn’t miss a beat as he worked on the strands of Omen’s hair. At this point, they began to resemble the centerpiece of an amulet or pendant, a gemstone wrapped in the braided strands to accentuate it as a the likeliest talking point anyone would first notice. And there was not just one, but two identical-looking pieces. From here, he would begin on the rest of the finished product.
He did pick up on something Omen said, a confusing thing. He would hold off on providing more information about his grandchildren until he could figure this one out. Even if Sen and Lin trusted her, this was likely something a little too big for him to just take in with ease. Zo’s voice slowly shifted into a more serious and somewhat accusatory tone, just short of him going into the personality of an aggressive interrogator.
“Strange of you to call them siblings though…. Does that mean your parents adopted them?”
"My guess would be some kind of poison." Ruby said as she tossed bag away with the shovel and proceeded to open the next box, she did this to the two others too, but when she opened the fourth one, still using the shove, the mechanism threw the bag out, but like she had said earlier, it hit the shovel, thus it didn't fly far, but it did cause cloud of powder to come out "I suggest you holding your breath and getting bit further away, there's possibly poisonous dust in the air." she wasn't concerned about herself, because even if the poison still worked somehow, there simply wasn't enough to harm her.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Nada shook her head "I don't know what it is, but I have seen it before..or at least I think it was this one, may have been just very similar."  she then said "Some time ago, anything from few months to decades, I'm not sure about time anymore, this type of plant started quickly taking over everything, and I mean quickly, I saw it growing, but then there was a flash of light and it just disappeared."
