This is just unbelievable. How in the world are kids even going to take tests if these words can't be allowed to be on tests!?!?

 

This is why I love Fox. Sure, they made a crack on bronies, but they were clearly mis-informed; with what information was given, I would say they were right to be appalled (that a "brony" is someone who quits work for MLP community, and gets welfare income), but they were dead wrong on that, I won't say they're perfect or anything, that brony crack was an all-time low and ultra right-wing strawman style, but, they do cover stuff like this that you'll almost never see on any other news outlets. Like, for example, something that, egads, might make Obama look bad.

Sometimes, living in the very conservative south really bothers me. I'm surrounded by lots of people who don't think, lots of "Christians" that have no idea what they believe, other than some simple little anti-science mantra some preacher said, close-minded, homophobic, and love hunting and such.

 

But then, I'm reminded by things like this, why I prefer this to the far-left places like New York, Boston, LA, or San Francisco.

Lol, the reporter actually said something almost exactly like this. She said she went to the Museum of Natural History for a field trip once, on the dinosaur's birthday

They did say banned on tests. First thought: "Okay, not such a big deal." Second though: "How in the world are they supposed to learn about dinosaurs, slavery, etc. if they can't test on them?"

Third thought:

"Ooooh, standardized tests..."

Lol, as Meditation XVII by John Donne said; "No man is an island unto himself", "the SECOND it affects anybody else" would be the second anyone has that thought, anything anyone does, even in private and/or secret, effects everyone, because we're all connected to some level or other.

 

I also strongly disagree with that, because our freedom of religion is constitutionally garunteed, it's not "...congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof unless it starts effecting other poeple...", that's just rediculous, it's so loose you could use it to ban religion altogether. The freedom of religion is where you get your right to be an atheist, so you have no right to bash it. In fact, IIRC, atheism is legally defined as a religion itself. I'm not arguing that it is (though I think most athiesm is really science-worship), but my PoV is irrelevant, here, legally it's a religion, that's my point.

I don't have any problem with the founding principles of the nation, personally. What, is believing in God embarrassing? Well I think that's a good hint at why so many people are atheist, then.

This article is about how absurd it is that they're barring freedom of speech and attacking the ability for education to teach about things as critical as slavery. How does teaching about slavery and using these words in tests nuts and stand in the way of progress?...
