Have you ever met a Hater (IRL)?

I'm just wondering, have any of you ever met a MLP-Hater IRL (in real life)?

 

I'm not just talking about the ones that just don't like the show, but they basically make it taboo around them to even slightly mention it saying it's 'evil'.

 

Well, I have met such a person...and a family member, no less! (FYI, my uncle)

 

When I was telling my cousin (who is a Twi Fan) what Bro-hoofing and Brony meant, he said it was 'bad language' like I was talking about 'you-know-what'.

 

But you know, even if I was it's like she has never heard a term like that and knows what it means (sad to say, but it's true).

 

So, I never brought up MLP when I go over to their house, especially when HE is there.

 

Then, one day he went way too far. I had put on 'Anthropology' for my cousin to watch while I was doing dishes, and he just waltzed right in and SHUT IT OFF! I mean, it was even in my own house too!

 

Then they just...left.  Seriously?

 

I mean, I know they were leaving and all, but he could've at least PAUSED the video 'cause I was listening to it as well or told me to pause it. I never told my mom this, because NO ONE in my family likes him and it would just cause my aunt to get angry and she's pregnant so.....yeah.

(btw, this happened a week or so ago and she's going in to give birth today)

 

...So, this year for X-Mas I want to get my cousin a Twi RR doll that'll come along with the Sunset RR doll I want to get. I wonder how he'll react when I just happen to walk in and hand her the doll, or if he comes home and sees her playing with the doll. I hope the worst doesn't occur (him throwing it out and telling me off for giving her the toy).

 

So, have you guys ever faced a Hater in your life whether they be family or not? Tell me, please!

Surprisingly no... And I'm very open about my Brony...ism... Like at school, no one has given me crap about it, hell I've gotten compliments, a friend, and a brohoof out of wearing my pony stuff. So either I'm a lucky bastard and no one cares at my High School, or they just silently hate me. :/

That's most people in my school, I get beat up everyday because of it. But I just come back with more pony swag and don't back down, and it's caused some people to stop and even some of them to become bronies. Retaliation is inevitable.

I try not to mention any brony fandom and mlp stuff at school except a few people who are either a 'sarcastic' brony or who watched it and agrees to discuss pony matters. Thats why I rarely see any pony hater IRL.

We also make fun of conventions and how bronies try to take over the world. It's all in good fun

Try living with a hater.. My stepdad is a hater and all I hear is "Grow up or I'll treat you like a little kid since you love that show so much" He doesn't even let me watch it I hide in my rooms on my laptop and watch it but if I get caught I hear comments about brines being gay or "not right' Holy heck, even the kids at my school are more supportive.

I met a dude who disliked Bronies heavily in college but one time I brought up the subject in class and confronted him with it and he admitted that he didn't have an issue with it he just liked to make fun of Bronies. After that, we were cool or at least had an understanding, though he'd try to get a dig in every once in a while. I just laughed it off though.

Nah not really... Not ever actually. It's hard to know one when the topic of bronies hasn't really come up in my life with other people. I'm also a closet brony, so I wouldn't know who would have a problem with me.

Eenope, and if I did I probably wouldn't care. I mean, if someone came up to me and was like: "Ugh bronies!" I'd probably laugh at how absurd that is. Come on, who does that sort of thing?

Yes I did, I took a trip to U.C davis one time and there were two of them. I acted creepy on purpose to a couple of my roommates just for fun (I didn't understand the social standards as much as I do now). And one of them saw me watching a pony video and said: "You're a brony?" and I responded: "yeah, why?" he then said: "oh, that explains it. Hey so & so, goat is a brony!" And then they started to tell me about how they hated bronies because they keep posting pony pictures on deviante art and that the bronies at their school (I was roomed with 3 other people from different schools) were horrible. I then explained to them that they shouldn't judge the many by the few because of a couple of asshole bronies. One of the antibronies decided to be a douchebag and show me and my other roomate the top post on /r/clopclop. So yeah, that scared us for life. But at least they didn't constantly harass me for being a brony throughout the trip. And I think one of them started to tolerate bronies because he said he wouldn't mind if I played an episode on the bus while sitting next to him. I'm not sure about the other guy though.

I can't help but wonder how many people around me even know the show exists -- let alone there being an adult fanbase around it. So yeah. Being someone who keeps this brony thing to myself, they don't ever hear about it either.

One of my good friend (Kyle) is a anti-brony, when I was a anti too we made fun of my brother who is a brony saying he has aids and such.  But when I got into the show I never told him I was a brony until one day I was at a friends house with Kyle and a couple of other friends when my friend Steven (who is a brony) took out a Rainbow Dash blush and Kyle said "hahaah Steven you're a brony?!" Steven replied with a yea and he put the blush on my shoulder, and Kyle thought I was gonna throw the blush at the wall or something but I kept the blush on my shoulder and Kyle said "lol are you a brony too?" as a joke but when I replied "yes" he kinda had a face like

The closest I have ever came across encountering a hater is when someone questioned me about a bracelet I was wearing on the day before Christmas break. (It was 7th grade. Now I am in 8th. Also I'm 14.) He saw it and then said "Dude, seriously? My Little Ponies!?" 

I replied with an "Oh well."

"Oh well." Is the best reply to anyone who dislikes or questions your pony-loving.
