Judging from the preview for season 5...

 

I can see a lot more universe exploration happening. The Mane 6 going around to different parts of Equestria helping ponies solve problems. It'd take the show in a new direction that could be refreshing and new in my opinion.

 

 

Other hopes:

 

-More Luna :comeatus:

-CMC gets their cutiemarks, (or maybe just one of them gets their cutie mark, that could be trouble )

-An episode about Celestia that fleshes out her character a bit more.

-The return of Cheese Sandwich

-Chrysalis returns!

-More Big Mac

Whereas the first three seasons were built up to explore and develop the mane 6, and season 4 was about sharing and teaching what they had learned to one other pony, I believe that season 5 will be about bringing all the development to bear to handle situations as a group. Instead of students of their elements, they will be masters of them and use that mastery to help others.

 

Don't expect slice of life to disappear as it will give us much needed relief from some possibly heavier episodes.

 

Do expect travel and the use of that travel to expand our knowledge of the poniverse by visiting places we haven't been before.

I don't have any predictions, but these are my hopes for season five:

 

1 - I'd like to see more Scootalove. It doesn't need to be episode centric, even just having it referenced or in the background more often would be nice. I liked that it showed up in Flight to the Finish, but I still believe there's more ground to cover with these two.

 

2 - I'd like more "pairings" of ponies that normally in the series seldom interact, because otherwise their friendships seem...disconnected. Rarity and Rainbow, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy (when it isn't Filli Vanilli...), Pinkie Pie and Rarity, etc. They need some more episodes devoted to them. Rarity and Rainbow especially would be easy given their opposing views on productiveness.

 

3 - Some more back story for Princess Celestia and Discord. Hay, more Sunbutt in general. We got Luna and Cadence last season. She needs more time to shine.

 

4 - I liked the earlier hope of more low key slice of life episodes and I agree. Fantastical elements are nice, but they were in there a lot last season and ultimately this is a show about friendship.

 

5 - I'd like to know what happened to Tirek's friend. He was given a name and everything. Will we see him this season?

 

6 - I'd like another of the Mane Six to develop a crush aside from Rarity, since I think it would be a good lesson for girls when it comes to romance if it's not just Rarity the entire time. It could be that this crush gets in the way of their friendship in some way through jealousy or what have you and they learn something about the value of listening to what others have to say? Something like that.

 

7 - Who the hay is Starswirl? Cut the references and start telling.

 

8 - A return of the reformed Trixie would be nice. Discord came back enough, she needs a turn now.

 

I think that's about it for me aside from reaching ideas that would never in a million years happen due to the state of our society...

Derpy to show up more, more of Vinyl, Lyra and Bon Bon and Octavia, Background has it own episode, Teirk's Brother show up, Sea Ponies, histories, appared/story of Star Swirl the Bearded, Maybe having OC like Snowdrop in it (Who would invited snow), exporle new world/adventures and maybe voice guest of Patrick Sweart or McKellen and David Tennant, as Time Turner maybe.

I have 2 hopes/predictions of what could possibly happen.

 

1. Twilight and Flash finally "officially" meet.

 

2. At least 1 of the Cutie Mark Crusaders will finally get their cutie marks.

I would like to see more of discord because he just spices up the episode so much, also it would be entertaining to watch a fight scene between discord and a villain, seeing that he is not very likely to trust a bad guy after what happened to him. Celestia needs to do some work on her own instead of relying on the mane 6 all the time, some story on how equestria came to be what it is (we already got one on how ponyville was founded), Also I think that there might be more of the mental breakdowns we saw in season 1. I can't think of much more than that so this is my list of things I hope to see in season 5.

I'm going to predict something. It's in this spoiler box as it involves Season 5 information.

 

 

G.M. Berrow, the writer of Pinkie Pie and the Rockin' Palooza Party, is going to write an episode for Season 5. It's a Pinkie Pie episode. Not only that, but we'll also be getting an episode about the Pie family. Since Pinkie Pie and the Rockin' Palooza Party and the Pie family episode involve, well, the Pie family, I'm going to guess that G.M. Berrow is writing this episode.

 

 

As for hopes...

• I hope at least one of the CMC will be getting their cutie mark. Or maybe even have an arc about the CMC and their cutie marks.
• I hope we get more focus on the secondary characters, since the Mane 6 took up the majority of Season 4.
• I hope we get an episode with two main leads that haven't interacted with each other all that much, like Rarity and Pinkie Pie.
