Yeah, I installed Windows 10, but because I am quite stupid, I accidentally deleted Windows 8.

So now, I am left with Windows 10 as my main OS.

I was unable to install any antiviruses as it appears that most of them are not compatible.

After contacting Technical Support, they all said the same thing : "Windows 10 is not officially out, so your fault for installing it".

So, now, I am stuck with the worst antivirus on this planet : Windows Defender.

That would explain why I've never heard of it. Still didn't even know we had a 9 as well though.

There is no Windows 9. They jumped straight from 8 to 10. As it appears that Windows 9 was actually 8.1...

Malwarebytes and Comodo Work with Windows 10.

I didn't know it was out. If they do really give it to W8 users for free, I'll use it, don't look a giftpony in the mouth and all that, but I'm not wasting money on a new OS, W8 works just fine.

It is a Public Beta Test at the moment.

This breaks all the laws of numbering systems. Microsoft, y u do dis?

To keep backwards compatiblity with legacy programs.

They pretty much ripped features from Linux such as the multiple desktops, these have been in Linux ever since the gnome desktop.

They and Apple took the online search results from Ubuntu's Unity desktop environment also.

Also why have a search right next to the start when you can search from the start menu? :/

Malwarebytes and Comodo Work with Windows 10.

The free version of Malwarebytes does not offer real-time protection, nor does Comodo, I believe.

I already have a Kaspersky License, I would not really want to spend more money on an Antivirus.

This wouldn't be a problem if Windows actually offered good virus protection. Not like Linux or Mac.

Yes, but the problem is that Windows Defender is a very poor antivirus.

I would not be concerned if I was not using Windows 10 as my main OS, but I am....

Microsoft's antivirus has been poor since MS-DOS. If you want a good virus protector for Windows I'd recommend AVG or Avast. But yeah Malwarebytes is good for if you actually have a virus (if you only have the free version).

Why would anybody use an operating system still in development as their main? Obviously its going to be unstable.

This should just be for virtual machines.

Compatibility problems, they do not work

I wanted to install it as a dual-boot, but I clicked the "Next" button a bit too fast and I was unable to go back.

Strangely enough, it is extremely stable, and I never had any crashes. Not once.

You could run them in compatibility mode if you haven't tried already, if not then have fun with Windows Defender!

It is probably stable because maybe it is based on Windows 8.1? I'm not sure how they built this but I am probably right anyway. Most of their older OS where based from NT.

Windows 10... Huh. Getting real confusing with these OS names, Microsoft. Was there any reason to skip out 9 other than just to be awkward?

As for me, not for at least a year yet. Just bought a brand new custom machine and have only just barely got used to 8.1. I hear windows 10 tries to revert back to classic windows layout but still... The dreaded tiles are still there.

Also it's still in beta so I'd at least wait for a public release.
