Marriage Law in Equestria: a Donkey and a Pony (ethical issue)?

Since there are mules in Ponyville, does it mean a marriage of a donkey and a pony is valid  ?

Edit: Keep in mind mules are normally sterile...is it really a good thing for a donkey and a pony to be together?

I think the question has gone beyond Marriage law, It's an Ethical Crisis now!

 

 

And is gay marriage or cousin marriage legal in Equestria?

What's the legal age to marry?

 

I think it's really an interesting topic....if it's okay to discuss it here.....

If Equestria is the loving and tolerating nation that the show depicts, then the only real question here is the age question. But I feel this question it's unanswerable considering we know not of the ages of any of the ponies. Therefore, more data must be collected, and until then, there's insufficient evidence to give an educated guess.

No one seems to be put off by Spikes infatuation with Rarity, so i doubt there are many hang-ups about love or sexuality.

I dunno, ponies seem kind of racist towards mules. This might stem from a stigma against donkey/horse relationships.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine how the life would be for a mule or donkey living in Canterlot.
Should be fine in Ponyville though. They may have different laws.
This makes me wonder if mane six would go on mission to change ponies' mind on these things in season 5.

Cranky Doodle Dandy (from A Friend In Deed), I couldn't tell if him & his girl friend were supposed to be donkeys or mules.  I took Rarity's comments on mules (in Dog and Pony Show) to be more

1) Rarity being Rarity & reacting to the "ugly" part &

2) Rarity was deliberately throwing a hissy fit & being a total bitch, as part of her strategy to psych out the Diamond Dogs (as revealed at the end of the episode)

 

Ponyville doesn't seem to have any racism to mules.  It also doesn't seem to have many mules.  It reminds me of what some old time activist said "In the South, they have Negroes but no equality, in the North they have equality but no Negroes" (or something to that effect) 

 

IMO, they do have some de facto discrimination against Earth Ponies, but it is very subtle & some, like Octavia or Filthy Rich, rise above it.

I don't think they would really care in Equestria, to be honest.  Cousin marriage may be a bit weird though... xD

I just realized mules are normally sterile, now I feel the marriage between donkeys and ponies may not be so wise based on this ground...And I feel sorry for mules....

 

 

Omigosh, it's a paradox, mules have rights to be born,yet it's too sad to be when they cannot reproduce....

 

Now we got an ethical issue (pony rights, eugenics, all the complicated staff)

They don't seem to be too alarmed or disgusted by Spikes crush on Rarity which leads me to believe that there is a precedent in Equestria for inter species relationships. I could see some ponies maybe having a problem with it but I don't think pony society in general cares that much about it.

Since no one has a problem, that I know of, about Spike's crush on Rarity, I'd say that other species are allowed to have relationships/marry  ponies.
