gone~ 614 March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 5 years ago... I was 12 years old. I was Mormon. I had no interest in politics but I assumed I was a liberal. I was absolutely obsessed with math. I read tons of manga. My small circle of friends was pretty much all the 'nerds' in my grade. I was decently social. I played mostly online flash games. Now, I am 17 years old. I am an atheist. I am an anarcho-capitalist. I'm interested in math, but I don't attempt to learn more every day. I read manga every now and then. I'm not social at all. I mostly play League of Legends. And I also love ponies! ^^
Shanks 10,816 March 13, 2015 Share March 13, 2015 (edited) I was 24 years old and It was before I burned out in my job, I had a few years in there under my belt and was actually not doing too badly in that respect except for one thing. I had a manager who was a complete and total asshole one that cause me to transfer to another store in the same district which I am still at now. I had knee problems back then as well but they weren't nearly as bad as they are now. I later took part in a company investigation that later lead to him being fired, apparently he broke all sorts of labor laws and ran his store on intimidation and bullying. Today my manager is cool but my assistant manager and closing manager (the one I work with the most) are while not as bad as him still pretty bad as a matter of fact I am strongly considering filing a grievance about the closing manager because he seriously crossed the line with me 2 times in the last week or so. First by saying "thanks for letting me down the other night" a few days after I had to leave early because of my bad knee and for saying "can't you read?" and talked down to me like I was an idiot after I screwed up a WIC check. Dreambiscuit 9,691 January 13, 2019 Share January 13, 2019 (edited) I was almost exactly the same as I am now, only back then I was a little less certain of the future. I had plans and even dreams but no idea what would come to pass. Now I don't think about those things as much. Otherwise, just the same old me. Maybe a few years more will fix some of the annoying traits that stubbornly linger. Edited January 13, 2019 by Dreambiscuit

Odyssey 5,716 January 13, 2019 Share January 13, 2019 I was the brattiest 15 year old in the frickin universe. Bad temper, no social skills and childish. All of it got me booted out of school and 2014 was the lowest point of my life. But it got better from there. 7 minutes ago, Zephyr / Karou said: A cringey 13 y/o highschool freshman who wore an umbreon hoodie to school every day and drew constantly, but at least I was social back then. Maybe, but an umbreon hoodie is pretty childish for high school. It had ears, a tail, and everything. The sleeves were too short for me, so I just wore another jacked underneath it and sweat to death the entire school day. As well as that, I was one edgy boi. Hah, at least I can understand the embarrassment. You learn as you get older (or when people tell you that you look ridiculous.) I guess I'm a little more forgiving about it because teens are just coming out from that kid mentality, so they think that "dark and brooding = mature and adult-like." In some ways I like to think of myself as a "edgy middle schooler apologist", lol.

Here No Longer 5,276 January 14, 2019 Share January 14, 2019 (edited) Hmm... let's see... I was a naïve, and still quite quiet 16 year old. I came out to classmates as bisexual (not entirely accurate, but they'd have been confused if I told them I was pansexual as I was at that time and the time I initially typed this out. Now I'm just gay) about a year before and I was questioning my gender identity. I actually supported Democrats at the time and watched freaking NBC Nightly News every day, but I was still a libertarian socialist if I had to label my beliefs as anything (just really, really misinformed). I still played DotA 2 and League of Legends and sucked at BOTH of them. I still played Team Fortress 2 and had no misgivings about its future as a game. I was desperate to be in a relationship at the time, for some reason. I still wanted to go to college (University of Texas to get a Bachelor's in Computer Science specifically), now I just want to make my own way. I still never really thought that I could be autistic (though I still don't know, I think I fit). I could probably go on, but suffice it to say, my life was MUCH better than it is now but that's because my Dad's stupidity didn't affect me until a couple of years ago. Meson Bolt 2,648 February 20, 2019 Share February 20, 2019 Hmm. Well, at 15 I was really dumb. Still in school, but I was a homeschool kid with really poor social skills. I don't think I had any friends at the time. I didn't have regular access to the internet either, so I wasn't into ponies, YouTube, gaming, or anything really. I was also pretty devoutly Christian. I never swore, I don't even think I knew any swear words. I didn't smoke (still don't), drink (again, don't), or have a girlfriend (still don't). I thought tattoos were evil, and thought that anyone who wasn't Southern Baptist was evil. 15-year old me would've hated 20-year old me. But... eh, I guess that's only fair. Envy 6,160 February 20, 2019 Share February 20, 2019 Five years ago, well, I was on these forums, so how I was back then is easy to see. My first post in this topic was almost there, just four years ago instead of five. I think a big difference that could be seen was that five years ago not only was I holding on dearly to getting back to my ex, but I lived for that happening. I lived for her at that point, practically. That sounds really sad (in more than one sense) and I can't say it wasn't. I'm glad those times have passed. 1 Everything needs more woodwind!
