Can Transhumanism and My Little Pony fandom fit together?

We are to die as nature intended... as the universe intended. Along with every other possible alien race that possibly may existed out there in the universe. The only form of conversion I could barely tolerate when humanity is not forced in anyway to mutilate themselves by becoming pastel horse.  

 

So you support the subjugation of all humanity, along with every sapient organic life in the universe?

Just by being able to think at the level we do, nature did intend us to move beyond our limitations. Our intelligence, our methods of progressing ourselves, has led to the growth and development of the human race. If nature disagreed, then oru advancements would've resulted in the diminishment or even death of homospaiens. We're here now, so until that changes, we are operating as nature intended. Nature isn't just limited to plants & dirt.

Not trying to diss humanity (though at times it's very deserving), but I was referring to why our current state is to be viewed as the end all be all of evolution, socially, psychologically, culturally and evolutionarily?

That's because they are science fiction stories not treatise as to how transhumanism should actually be implemented! If someone were to write a "realistic" story about introducing augmentations to humanity, it would either be a boring story or closer to an introspective drama rather than a sci-fi epic.

In Deus Ex it's treated as a good thing for the most part. In all games you PLAY as a transhuman!

 

Bioshock takes place in a time that predates modern understanding of genetics. If Rapture's scientists knew what we knew now, they would either curb the effects of ADAM or tell everyone "don't buy this shit unless you want to look like a walking photoshop smear!" Besides, plasmids caused the downfall of society tumbling down into anarchy, not a monolithic culture devoid of humanity. If you're going to be reflexively against something, at least be consistent with what doomsday you see coming from this.

 

In Half-Life the Combine call it transhuman but what can they do? How are they enhanced in any way? The person they were is dead and they still retain the weaknesses of humanity. That's not transhumanism, that's the opposite of it.

Not necessary against transhumanism. But far too many make out the transhumanist humans (or former humans) as perfect angels that do no wrong.... even when they commit xenocide on all the lesser species.

Most what else I've read in transhumanism (Pony related any way) sickens me on a level I never thought possible.

Transhumanism is more or less fine. It's just when you mix fascism combined with transhumanism then things get really messed up.

 

If a person wants to die in human body on this dying rock while rest of become machines, let them. But at the same time try keep them alive (if they wish) despite the world is dying.

Hi. I was wondering if these two things can somehow fit together. Like maybe a virtual reality equestria or virtual reality ponies. Or in other ways. Since there are transhumanist bronies, maybe My Little Pony could be used along with other technologies(and a subconsciousness activating pill?)to increase sensitivity and caring. Or a special suit with visual audio virtual reality world where pony hugs and flight feel real. Or like in the matrix where you get plugged into the alternative reality of your choice and are in a fluid filled pod. Could it work maybe?

And the chances are that no-one inside shall ever realize or be able to stop it.

 

Where is my universe destroying bomb? That makes a second big bang to recreate so the universe doesn't suffer such a fate.

While I believe in transhumanism, I also believe in cognitive liberty, neurodiversity, and a reasonable degree of economic socialism. I believe people should have access to these technologies, but I also believe people should choose what technologies they want, what technology they don't want, and other stuff. I hope friendship is optimal is optional, and being a pony is optional. I don't want to turn into a pony. I will miss having opposable thumbs.
