So today I was just coasting along my road when BAM a car hits me out of nowhere. Riding my bike did not help that I got my leg injured.

This is the Bike I got hit on.

Multiple times, actually. When I was a kid, I was riding a scooter around the block. I was killing time until the sun started going down. On my way home, a car swerved around the corner. The driver must have seen me, because they slammed on the brakes. I was riding along the side of the road, and I guess technically I hit the car.

Fast forward a couple years, I was crossing the road on my way to church. This young guy in a junk car comes speeding down the road. As I'm in the middle of the road, he races right by me, running over my foot. I don't think he even noticed. Fortunately, I was wearing thick old hunting boots, so damage was minimal (never found him).

My last experience (and I guess the only time I was really hit), I was riding my bicycle to work a couple weeks ago. I made a turn to go through an underpass. This girl that's in my grade comes barreling through in her car. I was in the middle of crossing the road, she was in the middle of making a turn down the street I was on. She slammed the brakes, but still hit me.

I was knocked off the bike, and faceplanted on the windshield. After a few minutes, we both just laughed hysterically since I had not just died (I popped my back though).

I never realized how lucky I am.

My dad got hit by a car when he was a toddler. It wasn't the car itself that put him in the hospital, it was the blow to the head when he hit the asphalt. He was unconscious for three days. Come to think of it that was over fifty years ago now.

I haven't been hit by a car but unfortunately, that was how one of my great grandparents was killed.

Kinda. I was biking home from work. It was in November so it was dark out. A car sped past and clipped me with the side mirror, breaking it over backside. Sad thing was it was also one of my coworkers. Luckily the bruise left behind only hurt for an hour or so.

Thankfully I haven't been hit more times, considering the road I ride on doesn't have a bike path.

No, but there have been several close calls (mostly due to people just being dumbflanks and pulling out at the wrong times, or people not having there lights on ಠ益ಠ)

Yes.

Back in 1995, when I was coming back from school (I was 11 years old). I forgot to look to both sides, and when I was crossing the street a car grazed me. Its tires passed over my right foot, its mirror hit me and I was threw backwards (perpendicular to the car). My foot got numb for a few seconds, but apart from that I didn't really got hurt, I didn't hit my head on the ground or anything. As soon as I landed, I got up and many people came to help, including the driver. He drove me me home afterwards, and I remember he was very nice. And I got a foot bath at home  :).

I am still not sure how I did not got hurt at all. I was hit by the wing view mirror, I should had been threw to the same direction of the car, not perpendicular to it, which could potentially throw me at the tires. The mirror got broken, but it didn't break anything of mine, and I also did not get hurt when I hit the ground. On the top of that, I clearly remember that in that day I stayed in class a little longer in order to solve a puzzle that the Math teacher had given. If I had exited a little earlier, I would be one or two steps forward when the car hit me, and it would had got me frontally. From the timing to the fact I didn't got hurt, I honestly think that Providence saved my life back then.

During my holiday in India I was hit by many vehicles of all shapes and sizes. Every time I crossed a road I would be touched by a passing car among many other cars. The scariest it has ever been is when the big lorries drive past you and they're very wide and very loud. Thankfully there was no running over of my feet as they were exposed and if it did happen I'd probably be in hospital. And if you count animals then I've been ran over by many cows, goats and mules.

No, thankfully. I'm pretty careful while on the road, though you wouldn't know it just by watching me, I tend to ignore traffic lights and other rules (i'm on a bike not a car). But I still watch closely.

I almost did, and it was my fault, I'll admit. When I was 16, I was arguing with someone by text and never noticed an oncoming crossing. When I stepped onto the road, I heard a long beep and I looked to my right and just saw a car coming to me. It was going at a slow speed thankfully... I jumped back onto the path and was in shock, but I did get a few, uh, rather sweet words from the driver through his window.

Some of you are very lucky!

Hit by a car?  Yes.

Why:  Looking at their cell phones more than looking on the road or speeding up to get that yellow light.

Happened:  Cracked rib,  f*ck up right knee and nice and black and blue for two weeks.

As an addendum to my post above, I have been thinking more about that time a car grazed me (as I told before, I didn't really get hurt), and trying to remember what I though between the time that I got threw away from the car and when I hit the ground.

I remembered. During the time that I was "flying" back I thought "Now I am going to get up and move on", and I was calm. When I landed  on the sidewalk I was about to get up when many people came to check me and aid me, I wasn't even scared.

Now, back to the present day. Sometimes I get terrified just to think how were the last thoughts of people who died on accidents. I don't really have an answer for that. But now that I remembered how were my experience in a similar circumstance (though I obviously did not die), I can say that in my case it was peaceful, if such term can be applied in such case.

No. My foot got run over by a car once, but that's really the worst I've dealt with.

I'm fine, besides memory problems, my longterm memory has been effected and i got memory loss from it too -.-

Even had to take a gap year from University because of it, which sucked :/

The HyperMotard is awesome, however if i were to have a Ducati it would either be a 899 or a monster, maybe a streetfighter :D
