It's such a heated discussion nowadays (actually it always has been  ) but I still can't personally stand the PS4. Really not a fan of it.

Xbox fanboy here but i also love pc gaming but it doesn't really matter as long as you enjoy what your playing, being a gamer is about the g-a-m-e not the console, some games have been done better on other platforms then other though. Batman Arkham knight was utter garbage on pc from what i've heard and Playstation has had issues with frame rates that pc and xbox hasn't but everyone whines about the xbox graphics which doesn't take that much away from the game this whole console war is confusing and pointless.

 

I'd love a Wii but i don't have friends over enough to have one.

I agree with the dreamcast.  Really the current crop of consoles were a disappointment.  There was a day when a new console could outperform (for games at least) all but the highest end enthusiast PC.  Now they release at a point where they can't beat a mid-range gaming PC at launch and tend to be laughable by the end of their lifespan. 

 

If it weren't for system-locked games, I wouldn't see a use except maybe as a blu-ray player.  System exclusives are the only way to really force me into buying one now.

 

That said I think Playstation will have the stronger exclusives this time around.

I can only judge by saying that the game library of the PS3 appealed to my tastes more than the 360 did even though I bought a 360, not a PS3 at the time. Other than that, they both seem rubbish to me. Probably the best time to get into PC gaming honestly. There doesn't seem to be any good reason to go next gen for me. The graphics are only marginally better. The new tech and capabilities haven't advanced gaming in any way. The consoles themselves are riddled with missing features (backwards compatibility is just the tip of the iceberg.) Do either of them have Transbot? No? Then I guess Sega Master System is better.

The whole console "wars" Ideal is just dumb. I mean, it really boils down to personal preferences. PC will always come out on top, gaming wise, no matter what consoles are out on the market. at the given time, anyways. Yes, there was a time, way back when, when the consoles wars were "real" since almost every consoles library was almost all Exclusives..Sega Saturn and Genesis having Snic, Nintendo NES/SNES and N64 having Mario and Sony Having Gran Turismo and Metal Gear.But now? almost every game comes out for every console and PC...aside from very few exclusives...which, for me..isn't enough to decide on a console.

 

Considering I've owned a 360 for the last..well..since release of the 360...I'd buy an Xbox one....If I had to that is, because I've already built up a reputation and friend network on Xbox...and to start all over on PS4? Not really worth it... Not to mention Xbox One will have (Or it may already have) backwards compatibility in the near future, via a virtual 360 console on the Xbone itself...so it'd still play all/most of my current library of games, without having to switch consoles....which is also why I bought a 360, as I had an original Xbox,along with a PS2...but I had more enjoyment on the Xbox at the time, so Xbox is what I stuck with..

 

Plus, the Xbox one controller is awesome. I love the rumble triggers...and the new Xbox One controller has a regular 3.5mm headset jack and the latest version of the Xbone has a 1TB HDD..

 

But, Right now, the only games I play on console atm is CoD, GTA and Destiny. and keeping a console for just one game, seems silly, since COD and GTA are available on PC.. So when my subscription runs out, I'll probably not renew it..

Console wars are dumb (PC Master Race), but for the sake of the topic let's break it down anyway. The PS4 has a slightly faster GPU, faster memory, and more memory bandwidth. There is no disputing those points. The PS4 has a better controller, specifically the D-Pad. It is largely accepted that the Xbox One's D-Pad is subpar. In terms of functionality, the PS4 was conceptualized, designed, and marketed as a gaming console first and foremost. The Xbox One chose to market itself as a sort of "all in one" media center, except that many of the system's functions do not work outside of the US. Finally, let's look at first party titles and exclusives. This is entirely subjective as to which system has better exclusives, but Microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot by releasing a lot of their first party games on the PC as well. I know that they are trying to support the Windows 10 Store but in doing so they are devaluing the Xbox One. Simply put, if you have a gaming PC there is very little reason to own an Xbox One. Taking all of that into consideration, the PS4 is better than the Xbox One. However, they both lose to the glorious PC Master Race.

considering the PS4 E3 lineup the xbox one is dead and so is the box as a whole for at least 2-3 years i my self am a little PC master raceish seeing as i have a $2000 gaming/twitch streaming comp i build for $900 max settings are bliss on everything. as of right now i'm trying to find a game that will push my R9 290 PCS+ and 4790K to its limit while streaming to see how much stress my rig can take. so far i haven't found it.
