Saddest moment in videogame history within the game universes i have played would be a long list. and i mean a VERY long list. Emotional issues dont help either lol. so if i may list a few and take hede, the list is a wide range of games:

1: FF7, Sephiroth's blade through our aeris

2: Fable 2 when your dog takes a bullet for you and DIES

3: Red Dead Redemption, John's final stand (left me with a feeling of anger honestly)

4: Assassins Creed 2, When Ezio's Father and brother.... yeah next one.

5: Halo: Combat Evolved, When you find Captin Jacob Keyes on the Level "Keyes"

6: Halo 3, Sargent Avery Jr. Johnson goin out with a bang... (that one made me cry for 3 days)

7: Halo 3, When Miranda Keye's dies by Truth (i felt so relieved when the Arbiter did what he did)

8: Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater< the death of The Boss

9: Final Fantasy X, when tidus just... fades away

10:Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, When Shadow decends to earth after losing his super form

11: Halo REACH: Noble 6 (you) and you final stand against the Covenant Armada

12: Fallout 3, when you have to watch helplessly as your father dies

13: EE's death in Metal Gear Solid 2

I dont think i've ever cried at a game, but I damn near came close when I was playing Shadow Of Rome on PS2 (which I shouldn't have been playing at the age of 10, but never mind) and Agripa was forced to kill Barca in the arena. *sniff*

"Are you satisfied?! Is it really so enjoyable to watch men murder each other like animals?!"

Other than that I got a bit sad at Gears Of War 3 when-

Dom died. *sniff*

Oh man. I know one in Bioshock 2 for the good ending when:

Eleanor saves Lamb and absorbs the ADAM of Delta in order to retain his mind and memories in her.

Ouch.....

Allow me to explain a little deeper. The following is a major spoiler for the game Braid, don't read if you still wish to play it.

The game's protagonist is Tim. Tim is mostly ordinary except he has a strange power. And that is to stop and even reverse time.

The game starts off in a city, and you enter a seemingly deserted house with some rooms. Each room presents a level.

You start off at level named 2. Time and Forgiveness. Here you learn the basic platforming skill and if you die, be prompted to reverse the flow of time. When you reach the end a creature tells you the princess must be in another castle.

The next level, 3. Time and Mystery, looks very similar except certain things glow green, meaning they are unaffected by you manipulating time. At the end the creature once again tells you the princess is another castle.

Up then comes 4. Time and Place. This level is peculiar as time moves forward as you moveright and backwards as you move left. The creature at the end still tells you the princess must be elsewhere, bu you ignore the creature and pass him by.

in the next level, 5. Time and Decision, each time you stop reversing time, a shadow of you performs the actions you just reversed. Some things in this level however are immune to you to decision and change in both cases.

Then comes 6. Hesitance. Here you receive a magic ring that incrementally slows down time as you get closer to it. In the end the creature starts doubting your motives for looking for the princess and states she may have been an imagination.

The last level which you can access after completing all the portraits, is labelled 1., this level is very peculiar as everything seems to be flowing in the wrong order, the music is playing backwards, monsters fly up to fire pits and emerge from death to alive only to go backwards into a spawner. When you reach the final part of this level, you see a princess, she tries to run away from a knight having escaped his clutches, she calls for your help. you chase her, and she disables traps for you as you travel under her. until the very end. If you read until this point you may have realized I mentioned this level flows backwards in time. When you reach the "end" of this level, you actually reach the beginning. the princess is running away from you, setting traps so you can't follow, to be finally rescued by the knight. The first 5 levels, is your search to find her. After the events of 1.

If you read all that, then feel free to cry mantears. Because you are allowed. I know I did.

Mass Effect 3: in ten minutes BioWare blew all its credibility as far as writing and following through with promises to the fans were concerned...okay that being said when that game was good there were great emotional moments, but you just kinda forget the good parts after sitting through the ending,

Never had a game seriously get me worked up emotionally

To all mass effect 3 haters: Grow up!

Saddest gaming moments: 1. 80% of FFX it was just sad so often but of course the end was so hard to watch

2. Gears 2- Maria

3. Gears 3- Dom

4. The continued exsistence of the company Treyarch- PUKE

5. The entire game of Mass effect 3- not because it was terrible, but because it was so good. The writing through the whole game had such finality and nearly every scene left you feeling as though you may never see that character again

6. The darkness- suicide/ loss of gf

7. Skyrim- hitting 100% achievements almost made me cry- over 130 hours of gameplay!

Final Fantasy VII. I think most know about the infamous moment and the thing that occurs with Aerith. I cried and felt very depressed when I first saw it.

Another sad moment? In Final Fantasy X, when...

Tidus and Yuna separate at the end. Seeing him jump off of that airship and hearing her say that she loved him really got me going. I know I'm a sap, but I love that ending. The music makes it all the more saddest.

I feel you... Same here. That was a very sad ending. :(

When I put that on, all I saw was this:

I don't know what was up with that.

No one has mentioned "Shadow of the Colossus" yet? Well the ending to that is just so sad. You feel so sorry for Wander.

Let's see, I think I have my list around here somewhere. Ah, there it is. I'll try to keep spoilers to a minimum.

Beyond Good and Evil - The death of a pig.

Silent Hill 2 - James' realization of what happened to his wife.

Shadow of the Colossus - Making a yoshi-jump off your horse.

Final Fantasy VII - The whole deal with Aerith (Aeris?). But only because I beefed her up before that.

Half-Life 2 Episode 2 - Come on, Valve! I was actually starting to like Eli at that point.

Katawa Shoujo - Rin's neutral ending.

Psychonauts - Milla's nightmare. Also wins the award for biggest 'Oh god what the hell' moment of 2005.

Sam and Max: The Devil's Playhouse - I don't want your fake time paradox Max. I want the real one. Also, that ending made it appear that they may be ending the series, which is even sadder.

OMG DOMS DETH IN GURS OF WAR TREE No, not that one.

A massive chunk of Mother 3.

Mother fans will understand me.

My guess is every fight with a horse-spider-thing. I may be incorrect, however. Edited by Bames Jond
