Redubbing of CMC episodes

Is Discovery Family/Hasbro gonna redub the CMC episodes from Seasons 1 to 3 due to the characters' voices changing?

I mean, what if Michelle Creber, Madeleine Peters, and Claire Corlett were asked to redub their roles from those earlier seasons from 1 to 3?

Any thoughts on that?

I think it shows the characters developing through out the seasons, but at the same time they don't age at all, except for like the year or so in Equestria time that has passed since the first episode.

I think that redubbing episodes is a bad idea, that would be a waste of time for the Voice Actresses of the CMC and I rather here the original voices rather than redubbed versions. Plus the CMC matured a bit since the show started, like Sweetie Belle for example. In eariler episodes she did not know how to use magic, but as of season 5 she is going good with magic.

Such a thing is unheardof and would be an enormous waste of time and resources set out to accomplish nothing. While casting child actors as child characters on a long-term project has always been problematic due to puberty setting in later in production, such a thing would work to this show's advantage as the characters are growing and maturing along with the VAs.

 

Redubbing older episodes so as to retcon older voices onto the characters has no precedent and would harm the episodes' value and continuity.

 

VAs who have outgrown their characters in the past have had the opposite treatment done to them (either being replaced or having their voices altered to fit the characters), but no such thing would be necessary on the Crusaders as this show's characters do mature and change.

It's not like they changed voice actresses. They just got older because the CMC are voiced by young girls. So going back and redubbing the old episodes would be pointless.

Why Redub them? Their characters have matured along the way. Their voices reflect how much they have learned.

As a couple posters said, it'd be totally pointless and thoughtless to re-dub the episodes just because their voice actresses got older.

They're probably not using their real voices. They created voices for the characters and they've been practicing with them, so even when their real voices change, they can still do the character voices. Voice actors are pretty good at this and after starting at a young age, these girls should be pros at "vocal retention" by now. Might I point out that the voice of Megatron on Transformers was provided by the same 57 year old chain smoker who voices Curious George.

How much $ would it cost?  If it's only a small amount, they might.  But, IMO if it costs too much they'll just say "to Hell w it" & live w the original sound track.  Of course, that brings up the question "How much $ is too much?"

Why would they need to? The fact that their voices have changed in the later season could show that the characters have changed and matured as time goes on.

Well they did it with Dragon Ball Z Kai (technically it was FUNimation)

I don't recall any of those scenes being redubbed and I've played that game many times.

Yeah they (Square Enix) did actually redubbed the flashback scenes in KHII. And FYI, Sunni Westbrook should be the NEW Scootaloo much like Maxey Whitehead took the Aaron Dismuke replacement in FMA Brotherhood.

It would be pointless to waste production time and cash just for that. Yes, the CMCs (specially Sweetie) sound older than back there in S1, but that's because their actresses grew and went throught puberty, so it would be logical if they sound deeper. But I plays in their favor, as it further shows how their characters grew in the series, and we now know that at least one year transpired since S1

Kai they did it for different reasons though, if I recall it was some kind of licensing issue.

 

And I don't feel it's necessary to go back and redub. It'd be easier to just explain that the CMC got older.

You know what guys, I think they should redub the episodes from season 1 to 3, yeah it might work or maybe not. Just like Square Enix did it with the flashback scenes in KHII and FUNimation with DBZ Kai.

No they REALLY shouldn't. Just because a video game did it, doesn't mean that MLP should do it. For one thing, Kingdom Hearts is a game, not a full blown series like MLP is.

 

As Dragon Ball Z Kai, also not a good comparison. That's an entire series that was made to update Dragon Ball Z for newer audiences, completely cutting out any filler. As it was extremely shortened, they had to re-record it.

 

MLP has no reason to redub its episodes. Saying that "The CMC voice actresses" got older is not a good enough reason. It would be a stupid waste of money that could go to more important things regarding the show.
