Hello all!

Anyone have any recommendations for games they play on Steam? I'm bored of the the games the I already own.

EDIT: Any game really. It doesn't really matter what type. I like FPS and action games.

If you're into more old school Indie games, I'd suggest giving Nuclear Throne a try. It's still in Early access, but it's updated almost every week and it's pretty close to release, it's already really close to finished too. It's got a lot of content, including randomly generated levels, tons of weapons, a bunch of different characters to play as, etc. Not to mention one awesome soundtrack.

If you like that, maybe also check out "The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth". It's one of my favorite games ever, insane amounts of content, and an upcoming expansion that's going to practically double the game's size. Be warned though, it's weird. Really weird.

Twilight is best pony.

Why hello MLPForums! What have ya been up to?

Eldritch is a strange game based on Lovecraftian lore if you're looking for obscure FPS horror/stealth.

Sir, You Are Being Hunted, the FPS-Stealth game where you "Fight robots across the English countryside". It's a lot of fun.

Subnautica is a First-Person game set on an aquatic, alien planet. You basically dive for and collect resources, building subs and tools as you go along.

That's a few of my recommendations.

I'm going to second Jora's suggestion of Warframe; it's a free game, third person shooter, with a whole plethora of content.

If you like strategy, I recommend Crusader Kings II. While I've only played the demo, it was awesome enough to warrant a recommendation here. On a similar note, you could check out Mount and Blade: Warband. That one's part strategy, part third person melee combat both on foot and on horseback. The melee system in Warband is fairly complex, too. For example, combat isn't just a deal of bashing the left mouse button rapidly to win a fight. You actually have to move your mouse appropriately in the direction you wish to swing. Same goes for blocking; if a sword is being swung at you from the left, you have to hold down right click and move the mouse to the left to block the attack--if you block incorrectly, you get hit. It makes for some really intense and interesting combat.

Grand Theft Auto V is of course a great game that probably needs no introduction.

If you're into board/card games, I recommend Tabletop Simulator; it's like this virtual playspace where you can play pretty much any board-game ever made, made possible by the Steam workshop where users can upload their creations. That's right, if you have the time and patience you can even make your own assets to create your own games. Thing is, it's basically like a sandbox; there's no rules, and one could simply throw around pieces if they so desired--like a real tabletop, you actually have to know the rules of the game you're playing. On the same note, you could check out Card Hunter. It's a free game that's basically a mixture of dungeon crawling and a deck-builder game.

If you're into survival without zombies, check out The Long Dark. If you're into survival with zombies, Unturned is a really good free game.

Mass Effect 1 and 2 are both incredible third person shooter/story driven RPGs.

Trove is a pretty good sandbox/rpg that's free if you're looking for something similar to Minecraft but more combat-centric.

If you're into platformers, You Have to Win the Game is a great, albeit short game that's free. On a similar note, Terraria is fairly cheap, but has an absolutely incredible amount of content. I'm around 200 hours into it and I'll probably never have every single item there is to have; it's just that deep.

If you like realistic space-flight/rocket simulation, check out Kerbal Space Program; it's a great game where you have these little green aliens called kerbals, and the idea is to build rockets that are capable of getting into orbit and to other planets--but it's realistic, so you do have to think about the rocket you're building as you're building it. You can even go to such lengths as using the Tsiolkovsky rocket equation to determine whether or not your rocket is going to succeed.

If you're into the Alien series, Alien: Isolation is the best Alien game ever made; survival horror done right.

If you want to cry and have another person you can play the game with, as it's local coop only, check out Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.

How is it that nobody has recommended Payday 2?  :okiedokielokie:

Take every bad heist movie, multiply the ridiculousness of that by two, and then sprinkle in some humorous but frustrating bugs for flavor.

Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are great action games. TF2 is very good as well if you want something free (or Dota 2).

Counter Strike: Global Offensive if you like competitive shooters that take ages to master, or Team Fortress 2 if you like silliness along with some competitive attributes

Having just finished it recently, I highly recommend Spec Ops: The Line. It's not for the faint of heart, and the story makes you feel like a bad person, but it's a fantastic game.

Other than that, it's really up to you. I've been playing a lot of CS:GO, DotA, Arma 2 and 3 and Skyrim recently, they're all amazing games.

Well Based on the genres you're looking for, this is pretty much what I recommend so far

For FPS, I would say TF2 which is popular by many people although it is free, and Borderlands 1, 2, and the pre-sequel. If you like classic and/or old school FPS games, then there's a couple that I know which are the original Counter-Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Day of Defeat, and system shock 2.

For Action, Well if you like action adventure, then terraria, starbound, and minecraft would be the only games i can think of.

As far as other games go, well I only play maple story which i'm not recommending right now due to a lot of cons in the game such as pay 2 win, all about grinding, being too boring, and no endgame contents aside from the bosses, too many hackers & botters, and people do bossing for themselves than taking their friends & guild members for greedy reasons.

The Most I play is Final Fantasy XI if you're looking for a good MMORPG like this game. If you get this game, go to asura server. I do know some good people who can help and guide you aside from seekers content which i don't know much about. I recommend playing this game, but it's pay 2 play and you need a square-enix account and playonline ID linked in order to play. it's a monthly fee of $12.95 + $1 per character if you asked me about the costs.
