  • 4 years later...

I'm gonna depart from the series here and go with 'Your Name/Kimi No Na Wa' as THE best anime of any kind anywhere. And just for good measure I'll toss in the manga of the movie and its expanded satellite book, "Your Name, Another Side: Earthbound."

Inuyasha is my favorite. Hopefully, the upcoming sequel anime Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon will be  right up there with it.

I'm a big fan of stuff like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Fate, My Hero Academia, Death Note, Hunter x Hunter, Naruto, Dr. Stone, Cardcaptor Sakura, Puella Magi Madoka Magica... the list goes on.

I am currently into My Hero Academia, however I did mostly like Season 1. Season 1 was a masterpiece. Also the English dub, while being good, somehow misses out on a few things. Why am I so picky?

Log Horizon

STEINS;GATE

Psycho-Pass

DearS

Slayers

Gundam 00

Gundam Wing

World Trigger

Planetes

Kowarekake no Orgel

Ookami no Kodomo

CLANNAD

Air

The list is long over favourites, but I will keep it short. Yes, I am a dweeb. If you fancy any recommendations, let me know.

From different perspective:

- Dragonball Z: Great angular designs and fighting poses.

- Bleach: Unique eyes and designs for many characters, never disappoints to see a newly introduced character.

- My Hero Academia: Randomized character design with inspiration from many difference sources, managing to stay fresh even with outdated or forgotten designs, or even too simple for Anime styles.

- One Punch Man: I haven't been able to take my eyes off Tornado's hair and dress. And that is after 2 seasons. Send help!

I don't read much manga anymore, but I think I'd have to go with Yotsuba&. It's so lighthearted and cheerful... and hilarious. ^_^

As for anime, that's a hard choice. Hikaru No Go and Angel Beats are super high above everything else on my list, but it's hard to choose between the two. I love them for different reasons. So... both!

My favorite anime was Attack On Titan but that has been ruined by season 3 and there's only one season left anyways. Lately I've lost nearly all passion for the genre in its entirety. I keep trying out new shows to see if any of them "click" like AoT used to but all I keep finding is typical cliche garbage. Been watching Stardust Crusaders and for a show that at times can be incredibly violent and is clearly very mature rated, it has some of the most inane and immature bullshit I've ever seen. Anime is something that almost never lands from my experience. There's always cliches everywhere, terrible character archetypes and drastic conflicts in tone at every turn.

Watched Banner of the Stars series? It's a pretty neat space opera.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes have a fun setting, as well as a good OP/ED.
