spoiler Anypony else feeling depressed about the CMC?

I am kind of Feeling Depressed lately.

They were the characters I could relate to the most, because even though I am 30- I still have no idea what I am ever going to do in life aside from maybe writing. Now I am hit with two fronts. The first is the realization that another Major chapter is closed forever on the MLP FIM world and we probably will not get any more cmc episodes anymore, or at least not as much. I know this is suppose to go to season 9 but it just feels like it was done too soon. Like it should of happened in season 7 or 6.

Also, since they were the ones I could relate to in that manner, having them discover what they are meant to do in life, what they CAN do in life and what they are good at while I am still stuck wondering what the feather I am suppose to do, especially since I have had interviews at 20 different retailers and some of them I have had multiple interviews and not one of them will hire me, its starting to get to me. Kind of makes me feel like getting a business degree like what I am going to be aiming at is going to be a massive waste of time and money since I cannot even seem to secure a entry level in anything.

Seeing the one characters finally suceed where I am still lost makes me feel bad....y'know?

Anypony else feeling kinda down now that this critical chapter is done?

It was a very bittersweet moment seeing the CMCs finally get their cutie marks. They found their destiny in life quite sooner than I expected and they did in such a way that would reform Diamond Tiara. That being said, I felt that the things that happened with Diamond Tiara with her mother felt very rushed, but that's beside the point.

I don't think CMC episodes will go completely dry. They could spend their time helping others find their cutie marks in life, or perhaps help the Mane 6 on their adventures. Perhaps there would be more things going on within the schoolhouse or beyond Equestria that require their help.

Then there's the CMCs actually using their talents. Sweetie Belle could go on facing her fears (a nod to her first appearance) when it comes to singing, Applebloom could learn to work with construction, and Scootaloo could get involved with extreme sports or something. Just cause they received their cutie marks doesn't mean they can't develop it like the Mane 6 are doing continuously. If it were the case, then the Mane 6 might as well not have any more episodes either.

I think its good that the CMC story line is actually progressing. There will probably still be CMC episodes. Maybe episodes where they help others get their cutie marks.

That is actually the main reason they got their cutie marks in the first place was to help others get their cutie mark.

It's something i also said about Twilights transformation and the people that didn't liked the progression. We can learn from these progression, by admiring these ponies accomplishments and striving to get our own accomplishments.

I am very happy for what they accomplished and i think holding them back and letting them stay blank flanks forever, would've been very anticlimactic.

Yes, a little, although maybe not for the same reasons.

The moment was very bittersweet for me. It's like turning the last page in a good book. You are happy to have reached the end but at the same time sad that the story is over and you don't know if a sequel will ever be written.

Now, I wasn't around for the Twilicorn bombshell but I imagine my worries about what the future holds regarding these characters are similar to those that permeated the fandom at the end of season 3.

I think the writers can make it work, so I do remain optimistic but I have some reservations. It feels like some of their individuality was stolen, by them all getting essentially the same mark. I know technically they are different but from now on they will forever be know as the CMC. It's almost as if the group now outweighs the individual. I don't know if that makes any sense.

This is is a result of a personal correlation that you have set upon it. While it is good to have a sense of relatability with a character, don't let what that character does affect your viewpoint or your mood.

See, the CMC's have accomplished what they set out to do, that is wonderful. Now, you haven't found out what you want to do your ultimate goal in life, whatever it might be, but you can use this as an uplifting inspiration. Knowing that your beloved characters have accomplished what they want to do, it can give you motivation for your life, whatever it might be. You are not obligated to do a certain thing, just go at your own pace and enjoy what you do. ^___^

Another thing, about CMC episodes, that is nothing to worry about. We should still get more CMC episodes, but instead of them crusading for their marks, they are helping others learn about themselves. So there are sure to be more CMC adventures in the future. :)

Try not to worry about this, I am in the same boat as you. I feel completely unsure about my life and I struggle each day with trying to be happy with myself and who  Iam, I have tons of self acceptance problems. Many of these characters in this show, I wish I had their personalities and traits, because I feel inferior to many of them, but I still want to enjoy the show and what it provides, so I try to not let it bother me.

Sort of. Not because they got their cutie marks but because it's the end of an era, and because it felt so final.  I almost don't expect a new episode this upcoming Saturday now.

Pretty much this.

Holy buck man...just reading you're post gave me the biggest feels I almost started crying. I always get these bitterwseet nostalgia type feelings too, I know exactly how you feel, and it's not just people who are in you're position right now, I feel bad because the CMC will never be the same like back in the good old mlp days. Don't worry man, as long as you keep trying there will still be hope that you get the job you apply for, but just like Shia Labeouf once said...."If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up"

To put it bluntly, hell yes. They had so much potential and had their talents built up so much only for them to pull this. Now their true talents are completely useless for the sake of "helping others get their cutie marks", which let's be honest, ponies can do on their own. And honestly, after 5 years of being blank flanks, it just looks off.

FiM has always been a show about growth and change, which continues even after we seem to have reached a kind of resolution. Twilight grew and learned and became a Princess... but even then she's still constantly growing and learning. So will the CMC now that they have their cutie marks.

It's one of the main reasons I love the show so much. It doesn't try to preserve the status quo out of fear that they'll lose viewers if things change, like so many popular shows do. The writers trust our intelligence. They show the characters develop and change and grow and become new versions of themselves, because that's how real life works too.

There were two lessons out of last Saturday's episode. The first was communicated through Diamond Tiara finally standing up for herself and for what's right. The second was the CMC getting their cutie marks, and the message for us was: this is what life is, they are growing, they are entering a new chapter in their lives, celebrate with them.

It's perfectly fine to feel a twinge melancholic; they're characters you've followed for five years, characters you relate to, and now there's this big change. But ultimately we should embrace this change, because this is the show at its finest.

Finally a message for the OP: don't give up. I understand the frustration of being stuck in what seems like an unending rut but you are growing even if it doesn't seem like it. The CMC have been helping each other and other ponies find their talents for four and a half seasons before this; they were in the process of earning the cutie marks even though they didn't realise it. Keep going, maybe talk to people and try some new avenues you might not have considered before, and you'll find a way through, or you'll make one. Good luck!

Actually. I am depressed because their story is done. All I ever wanted to start an CMC spinoff before they got their marks. They should've become eternal blank flanks in the first place! I bet the fans who liked the CMC were angry because of the ending in the Crusaders of the Lost Mark episode, just like the Twilicorn controversy back in 2013.

Nope!

I'm super happy for them now. I think they were just trying a little too hard...and eventually, it started to stale out for me. But now I just hope Diamond Tiara will continue to respect the CMCs, despite her mother...

Just because they got their cutie marks doesn't mean it's the end. It's as they said. They have more ahead of them. It's like after when I graduated from college. I know what I want to be now, I have all the tools, But now the challenge is using what I know to get better. Sure their crusading has ended, and yeah it is a little sad to see that go. But as sad as it is to see that part of their story come to a close. They now have a new road a head of them, new challenges, and obstacles to overcome. I do wish they had saved it until just a bit later. But I am interested to see where the writers take this next.

On another note entirely, I have a hunch; I can't help but feel that this is setting it up for something bigger down the line. Why else would they have the Crusaders find their cutie marks this early? Not just that but why would they have some of the characters reach this close to the end of their goals and arcs all in one season? You can probably call me testicles; But the writers are up to something. And Glimmer may do something rather dark if she is to be at the season final. I'm probably wrong, but it is something that is itching at me. Especially since the show is more aware of it's audience now than it was before.
