What Are Your Thoughts on Gilda?

Yeah we all remember that certain griffon. But tell me what your thoughts on her are! I personally feel rather neutral towards her (except for that one time she yelled at Flutters, goodness that made me mad). In any case, let 'er rip!

Fluttershy and Princess Luna are the 2 BEST PONIES. Just sayin.

B) and Trixie's really cool, too.

Well she's reformed now, so no problems here.

I had always wanted more done with her. She's a cool character with lots of potential.

But yeah it would be nice if she apologized to Fluttershy. But I think Flutters got over it.

And she's got experience dealing with a Spirit of Chaos now. I think she can handle a grouchy griffon.

Yeah, her yelling at Fluttershy wasn't cool. She also ended up being a bad friend of Dash's and then just went back to Griffonstone where she could be grouchy by herself.

But then that all changed in S5E8...the magic of friendship happened. After seeing that she *can* be nice and doesn't have to be the way she was, I guess I don't hate her or dislike her. I think she's similar to Tiara: raised in a poor situation and became bitter because of it.

She seemed like a stereotypical, shallow bully in her first appearance. I'm glad we got to see more of her in season 5.

She is definitely not one of my favorite characters, but I like her waaaaaaaaaaaay more now than I did before. When she first appeared, she had the sad fate as the generic bully character and because of that, I really did not like her as her character was so 2-dimensional. After Griffonstone though, her character improved far beyond that so I do like her now. I just would like to see a bit more of her in future episodes, maybe not as a main focus but perhaps she can interact with the other main 6 now that she is much less hot headed. That would be nice to see.

I'm probably in the minority for really liking her. Yes, she was the stereotypical bully in her debut, but most side characters that have an episode centered around them are based off of common clichés. Personally, most people disliked her because of how she yelled at Flutters. <o<

Anyways, what made me like her even more was the map episode that reformed her. It's easily the best of the three that we've got, and it shows that she has potential to be interesting. I can't wait to see her again!

I should mention that even though she upset me in the first episode we saw her in, I always liked her; not because I like bullies or jerks--in fact I despise them--but because with the way they set it up I knew there was going to be some sort of redemption story for her, and that there was a reason for her being a jerk and there was actually a nice, decent griffon underneath all that. Come season 5 and that was proven to be true...it's just a shame we haven't seen more of her, because I think she's a unique and interesting character that has a lot of potential.

"I think there's a double-edged sword to reforming villains. It's good to see them come around, because it shows us that people can change and that if you find yourself making a mistake you yourself can change and be forgiven. However, I also feel it's actually important to show some villains remain villainous. Unfortunately, in this world, we run into people who will continue to hurt us no matter how much kindness we show them. It's realistic to show that this can happen and that it is best to cut abusive people out of our lives—like Rainbow Dash did with Gilda." - Lauren Faust

But then she gets showed more kindness in Lost Treasure of Griffonstone and it fixes her. I've never had anything against Gilda, but I've been pretty iffy about her getting reformed like that, considering it destroys the lesson from her first episode.

Fluttershy is a very awesome character who I tend to look closer at than any other pony. And honestly, I wasn't really bothered when Gilda yelled at her. Because that happens a lot within the show. Fluttershy yelled down at Rarity and Pinkie Pie but I rarely see people disliking her because of it. They blamed Iron Will which was unfair to me. Rainbowdash yelled at Pinkie Pie in "Tank for the memories".....there are so many "d*ck scenes" I could cover

What bothered me was how much of a d*ck she was to everypony. However, I immediately forgave her when I saw the Griffonstone episode and it sort of hit me harder than I realized.

Gilda is victim to those that surround her. Her home is a mess, and every Griffon there are d*cks. As you can see from the flashback, she wasn't born a c*nt. She couldn't help where she was raised in. Even in the newest episode, she was trying to leave that place because it was probably super hard growing up there. I was raised in what you may call the "slums" and I sort of get where she is coming from. To be honest, I find Gilda's reason for being a b*tch far more meaningful and deep than DT's. I like her. And I'm extremely pleased of the Griffonstone episode. It was really needed. I do not support EVERY antagonist to be reformed, but I definitely supported Gilda's.

I certainly wanna see her more after S5 E8. Now that we learned her history and past, I empathized with her. Before this episode, I was thinking that if she came back, it would be an entire episode that would lead to a redemption. Now I can't wait to see the writers do something with her in Season 6.

I'm pretty neutral on her as a character. I was never obsessed with her, however, I have never hated her. I think I would like to see more of a backstory on how she became the person she was.

10/10 character -ign

Personally, I've always seen a lot of potential in her character since I first watched episode 5, and it was really helped by The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone (which boosted her up to my second favorite character behind Rarity). In general I've always seen her as an pretty interesting character, despite her dialogue involving insults that were relevant in the 90's :P
