Welcome to A heroes battle of bloodlines

I know the amount of text is scary, But please do bare with us. We put a lot of thought and planning into this.

Mods: Gentleman Blaze, InTEMsive.

If you like creating characters, This RP is for you.

RP: https://mlpforums.com/topic/144592-a-heroes-battle-of-bloodlines-rp/

Imagine immensely powerful warriors trapped in cards, Ready to be summoned at any time to fight for your protection. That is a large part of this RP, You're a human born into a family whom posses cards that can summon immense beings known as heroes. Your family isn't the only one though, But there are 6 other families like this. Every generation the eldest child from these families are sent into an untouched realm, Filled with ruins and ravenous beasts. Only one winner can prevail to truly show their worth and dominance over the other families.

As one of the ones chosen to fight in this battle, You have to rely on these heroes to protect you from being killed by either the powerful monsters of this land, Or another families contestant. These heroes are powerful warriors called from the past to fight for you, after their physical forms death they gained godlike powers.

The heroes power is measured on a scale of tier 1-3, 3 being the strongest. Through out this realm cards can be obtained by killing extremely strong monsters, Raiding ruins or you simply have the luck to find one laying on the ground. There are 7 different classes of heroes, They are:

1.Warrior

2.Archer

3.Assasin

4.Caster

5.Berserker

6.Summoner

7.Lancer

Here is the sheet for creating a hero:

Quick summary of backstory:

Ultimate ability:

Here are some other things that are good to know about when creating your hero:

-Your hero may be take from any time era prior to the modern era, But they gained super natural powers after death.

-They don't have to be human.

-Your starting card has to be tier 1.

-When designing a hero, It'll have to be approved by a moderator before being implemented to the RP.

As for your human, he/she won't be fighting and you loose if you he/she dies. You can have a maximum of 3 cards at a time, If you run out of cards in a battle you better flee or die. Only one hero can be summoned at a time, and like mentioned earlier they do posses godlike powers and are extremely hard to kill. Don't worry about dying due to lack of food and water, That is ignored in this realm.

Human character:

Name:

Gender:

Age:

Appearance:

Bloodline (family name) :

Personality:

Remember, Your characters way of thinking effects how he/she controls his/hers hero in combat.

-----

Moving on to the realm this is set in. This realm consists of large island split into different biomes, Forest for example. There are danger zones spread out over the map where feral beasts roam, there are also ruins and bosses. If your character stumbles upon a boss, A mod will be controlling it. Like I wrote earlier, there are more cards spread out over this realm.

Light green = Jungle

Dark green = Forest

White = Snow

Grey = Mountain

Dark grey = Wasteland

Red dot = Bosses

Red tint = Danger zones

Beige = Desert

And yes, This RP had inspiration from "Fate/ Stay night"

Rules:

1. All battles will play out in the a BATTLE RP and not the Roaming RP.

2. No perfect characters please.

3. Don't GM and control others characters and heroes.

4. Leave it to the moderators to control bosses and decide when you find a card.

@@Yamet,

Of course, If this is what you mean:

The warriors use swords, axes, maces and so on. They usually have heavier armor. There are diffrent types of warriors though, For example paladins, Who are more magic based then the more tanky warrior.

Archers, They of course use bows or crossbows. They have excelent eyesight and senses, they can be very sneaky.

Assasins hide in the shadows or surprises their enemy, They usually have knifes or smaller swords and are extreamly agile and swift.

Casters are mages, They cast spells to for example hurt or immobalize a target. They can use spells for all sorts of things.

Berserkers are bulky large damage soakers who charges into battles with huge weapons.

Summoners can ressurect the dead (Not human chaarcters) or call in familiars to fight for them, They also posses alot of magic powers.

And finally lancers, They rely on agility and charge into battles with Spears or types of fighting sticks to pierce or bludgen enemies.

@@Gestum,

Well, we had another similar idea of this kind of RP from the beggining, And the randomizing part played a bigger role in it and I guess we just stuck with it. But I suppose we can have you decide what class you want for a starter card. But the rest of the cards you get will be randomized.

@@Yamet,

I'll just message Blaze about it first, To make sure...

Since Balze is busy at a party, I'll make the decision that you may choose the class for your starting card. But other cards will be randomized for balance reasons.

@@Gestum,

Just looking or are you interested in joining? :)

Here is my hero like you asked ^^

Name: Arnora Thorlikdottir of Sweden (Speaks English in the RP of course)

Age: 25

Appearance: Blue eyes, Blond long hair with a feather twist braid at the back. She is of medium height and weight, yet very strong.

She threw herself in front of the old man and managed to sustain a deep knife cut in her waste as she cut the thief with her sword, Which ultimately led to infection and death on her side and instant death for the thief.

Weapon: A large two handed broadsword named “Agdas velsignlese”. (Agdas Blessing, A holy sword infused with magic). The grip of the sword is a golden cross with wings emerging from it.

Summery of backstory: Arnorna grew up in a family of body guards in Sweden serving not only the king but various other noblemen and priests. Her family was highly religious and caring of each other.

Training everyday to perfect her swords play it didn’t take long before it was apparent she had talent. She was enrolled in the army and fought valiantly for years, She learned to be very obedient and protective. After many wars she fallowed her family profession and became a body guard for a nobleman.

She died due to a deep knife cut to the waste as she was protecting a priest.

Three basic abilities: Righteous blow: Arnora jabs one of her feet into the ground and lounges forwards with immense power and her swords peeked forwards

Eclipse: Arnora lifts her sword towards the sky as a celestial glow blinds everything in her vicinity for a short while.

Devine force: The cross on Arnornas chest piece starts glowing creating a thin transparent glowing force field around her. The force field will shatter after 1 hit that is strong enough, she remains undamaged. (Can’t block ultimate abilities and other strong spells.)

Ultimate ability: Holy sunder: The wings stitched to Arnoras cape turns into large actual wings, She with one thrust of the wings flies far into the air. Whilst in the air she starts spinning holding her sword outwards, She then lounges towards the target like a saw blade.

Name: Thorbjörn Hammer, the soul of the hydra

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Class (Randomized): Berserker

Personality: Thorbjörn is very assertive and straightforward. He does not care about others opinions and he is brutally honest with things. Thorbjörn is great at motivation speeches and has an overall loyal to the core personality. However, he is not easy to befriend. He is very stubborn and will not budge, when you try to talk sense into him.

Time era: Viking age

Tier Randomized 1

Appearance: A very tall and muscular man. He has a long blonde beard and he is bald. He has a tattoo of a hydra on his chest and a big gold chain with Thors hammer on. His right hand has 4 silver rings.

What did he/she do to be a hero: Thorbjörn saved an entire village from the king hydra. He went in alone and defeated the beast, but he died in the process.

Weapon: A big and short hammer, that has poisonous hydra spikes on the head of the hammer

Armor/ Outfit: His left arm is fully covered in hardened steel, and he has a metallic hydra head on his left hand. His shoulder pads have real hydra heads on that growl and snare at people. His leggings are hydra scales that allow him to avoid freezing to death.

Quick summary of backstory: Thorbjörn was a Viking chieftain of the clan known as the crimson claws. He raided and killed every land he came across, but he never touched the villages in his land. One day a giant hydra attacked his village, so while the others fled in terror, Thorbjörn gathered his gear and slayed the hydra. Although he was victorious, Thorbjörn died after killing the hydra. When he died, he absorbed the hydras soul and gained some of its powers. He gained the metallic hydra head on his left arm and a hydra tattoo on his chest.

Three basic abilities:

Hydra shockwave Thorbjörn spins his hammer and then smashes it on the ground. The smash causes a shock wave that sends everything flying

Hydras strength Thorbjörns metallic hydra starts to glow. This increases the strength of his left arm, and adds poison when the hydra head hits an enemy.

Soul of the hydra Thorbjörn tattoo starts to glow and he becomes physically stronger. It costs him however some of his sanity during battle. If he uses it too much, he will become uncontrollable.

Aspect of the Hydra Thorbjörn transforms into some sort of hydra. His metallic hydra head begins to glow. Then it starts to spread scales all over his body. He gains spikes on the back and claws on his feet and hands. By doing this, he becomes much stronger, tanky and gains the ability to regenerate chopped off limbs. He can also do a very loud war scream that causes the enemy to flinch. When he transforms back, he becomes a lot weaker.

@,

Ahem I would like to submit the following "hero" (erm the abilities trust me won't be powerful at all... but I need to think about them for a bit sorry for the in-completion)

Name: Cornelius Thatch the Wayfaring Bard

Age: 27

Class: Caster

Personality: Loud and care free, seemingly trying to be everyone's friend. he would be wise cracking if he was a bit more dimwitted. But in truth quite quick witted and sly. More inclined to win a fight with words and logic then with his "magic". While not exactly the "heroic" type he likes to keep those around him out of trouble, of course this may include running away. 'but a fool who runs away, lives to sing another day"

Time era: Renaissance

Tier: 1 (starter card)

Appearance: Tall and thin, dirty brown hair and brown eyes, not a very intimating man, but actually in the prime of his life

What he did to become a hero: Being a bard, he took upon himself to travel the land telling stories and relying the epics of other hero's. Not being naturally brave, or naturally skilled in any form of combat, when he saw acts of injustice, and he did as he traveled a lot, he was forced to turn a blind eye. Then one day, when he came upon a manor where in the serfs were being treated terribly and shoving his normal cowardice into his throat he combated it the one way he could, through song and story. Of course this promptly got him executed by the Lord of the manor, but hey you win some and lose some

Weapon: His lute?...not really counting as a weapon but its whats in his hands most of the time. Although he does have a dagger but does he use it? To peel apples maybe

Armour: Typical bard like clothes. Bright loose for travel, and comfortable.

Summery of backstory: To come at some point....

Three basic abilities:

Alright, I got asked to give this RP a go by @, so well... Here goes.

________________________________________________________

Name: Jane Simmons.

Age: 28.

Class: Archer.

Personality: Jane is a sassy, carefree woman who doesn't like people who can't take a joke or oppressive people. She is a lot more tricky than she looks, and a tactical mind that takes advantage of things around her to gain the upper hand, though she won't put her friends in the line of fire. She likes to do pranks on people she care for.

Time era: High Middle Ages.

Tier: 1 (starter card)

Appearance: Red, shoulder-long hair, held behind her head with a simple leather strap. Hazel eyes, a few freckles on her right chin and normal of build, though a head higher than average. She's more of a natural beauty than a magazine cover, and her skin-colour is pale golden, like she were slightly tanned.

What she did to become a hero: When her mother was attacked, she kept behind and shot the attackers down while her mother escaped into the forests. Jane managed to defeat the opponents using her skills with the bow with only minor injuries, but at the way home ran into a wagon that was being robbed and did hers to help the ones under siege to escape, though it cost her all her remaining arrows and a blade through her leg in the process.

As a last act of defiance, Jane tricked the few left into thinking she was easy picking and lured them into the wagon, sealed off the door and set fire to it. She died in the flames along with the thieves.

Weapon: A strong bow, a quiver filled with sturdy arrows, and a long-knife down her side.

Armour: She wears no shoes, her pants and shirt made from thick leather and hide, and a piece of rough rope functions as her belt.

Summary of backstory: Lived on the road with her mother, got her skills with the bow through the mother and the fact that she had to be prepared for any prey and place to make sure they got anything to eat. She never knew or cared for who her father was, and though she had an eye for the gents now and again, she detested being seen by them as lesser just because she was a female, and until her death she hadn't ran into one who wasn't like that.

For a while she had a falcon for a hunting pet, and after her death she have once again been graced by a bird with her, though now it is a bird of flames.

Three basic abilities:

Going for the kill. The most base of her skills. Jane's companion breathes fire at her target is at, intended to force them to focus on avoiding the fiery death coming to their face whilst she shoots at any weak point she can see. It can also be used as a surprise attack in case she have not been spotted prior to this.

Piercing shot. Standing patiently, Jane focused all her strength into a single arrow and fires it off, breaking through most armour and dealing quite severe damage if it hits right. She cannot do this on the move, and needs to be able to have at least 5 seconds of complete stillness.

Hot to the touch: Having an enemy near, the bird sets her blade on fire and lounges at her enemy whilst she attacks with her knife in unison with the bird. The strikes are not as powerful as they are plentiful, and after a short amount of time with this barrage of claw and steel, she will jump backwards, releasing a handful of arrows with flaming tips at her opponent, The shots are not as strong as the other shots she generally does, but it helps give her some distance again.

Ultimate:

Heart of the Phoenix. The bird fuses with Jane, making her the physical embodiment of celestial fire for up to 30 seconds. Whilst in this form, her bow shoots arrows made from the pure essence of this fire, she grows large wings, can form the flames around her into weapons and any damage regenerates nearly immediately. The area around her boils and burns in this form, yet after the 30 seconds she goes up in flame, rising from the ash but without her companion and drained. It takes at least an hour before her companion returns.

I can make one from a house too, but I need to be sure about if the Hero is fine enough first I think.

@@Blitz Boom,

That's a fine hero! I like her. You're accepted, And as far as I know i'm the only one with a human character so far.

So here is my human character by the way, I know she's kinda shallow... I might work on her some more.

Name: Alex Alderman

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Appearance: Long flat black hair, Teal eyes and pale skin. Wears a green parka jacket and a large dark green scarf.

Bloodline: Alderman

Personality: Alex has a very rash and reckless personality even though she cares a lot about the ones around her. She has a bit of a temper but tries to do the right thing. She’s competitive and is set on winning if there’s anything to win.

@,

Okay, that's good to hear. :) As for the bloodline, I might as well get that done too now then.

____________________________________________________________________

Name: Russell D. Bones.

Gender: Male.

Age: 17

Appearance: Tussled, half-short black hair, blue eyes, slight stubble. He's slightly frailer than most others his age, a half head higher than average, and his posture is mostly relaxed. He wears simple clothes in varying shades of grey fit for outdoor life in Autumn temperatures, light-grey shoes with a thick insole fit for long hours of walking/running, fingerless, black gloves and a black scarf with his family crest embroidered into the end where all can see it: A white snakes made of bones with six wings, reaching towards the sky.

Bloodline: Bones.

Personality: Russell doesn't come from a family with an honourable history in these games, yet he is not filled with the brutality, arrogance and mercilessness of those before him. Instead, he is more of a friendly face, trying to get off to a good start with others and tends to wear a smile on his face. That is, when he's not getting afraid of something, like if he is getting attacked for example.

Russell is intelligent, but can be naive at times, or over-think things in a spur of random paranoia, which can be used against him. Though he have been told to do everything he can to win - including playing dirty - he does not go into this feeling like things will end well, nor if he's able to make himself deceive or play others like he was told. Quite frankly, he would be happy enough to survive for the time being.

Minor background information: Russell was never meant to be part of this competition, but when his elder brother succumbed to illness three weeks before the event, his family was faced with little other choice than taking their black sheep and sent him off in stead of his highly praised sibling. He does not enjoy having to be out and part of these games, and if it were up to him, he would have rather been out practising tracking animals than this.

He does like having Jane around as more than the rare guest summoned by his brother though, and haves her around nearly constantly to keep him company. He considers her a friend that shouldn't have to be locked away all the time, and learns a good deal about tracking and hunting from her, though she does mess with him from time to time for her own amusement.

@,

Thanks. Truth be told though, I'm rather nervous about this. I haven't done a battle-rp with randomisation in before, just the regular old back and forth banter, and occasionally planned battles. With this... Well, we'll see it'll go once it starts I suppose. :)

@,

Word of advice when running that many? Just hold an overall line of where things should go, but let the players run loose otherwise. Your job gets a ton easier when the players themselves start to make the filling to the story, and it helps you learn a whole lot about their personalities, goals and general interaction with things above what you see in the small character sheet. That will help you when thinking on how to counter them or set them in a better/worse situation.

Also, try to find joy in messing with your players. Most of the GM's I've known says that it helps the creativity to be slightly mean to your willing subjects and runt hem through twists and turns just because you can. :3
