NeonCobalt 256 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 (edited) I gotta be honest, I sometimes completely forget who this show is technically targeted at. Anyone else experience this? Sporemane 546 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 Yes I have to remind my self sometimes that the cartoon with colorful horses was intended for children
Sidral Mundet 1,666 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 I pretty much have to remind myself of this any time I get a cool idea because it would never fly on the show.(Mostly because there would be violence and serialization needed for it to work) Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end. Koukatsu 5,899 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 No, I don't forget that this show is targeted at families. I also don't forget that, just as children can enjoy this without their parents, so can adults who don't have children. c: 7 || Ponysona || Ask Me Anything || Johari Window || Twitch || Gamer Stuff ||

Akari of Duskshire 581 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 I never forget that it's a family show, just as I never forget that the sun is bright. Dark Qiviut 22,430 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 (edited) Nope, because it's factually wrong to call it a little girls' show. FIM is an all-ages, unisex, family-friendly show that aims to capture all demographics regardless of age or gender. Good quality is demographically blind. [NULL] 906 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 No. I've always been aware that it's primarily marketed towards young girls.
cuteycindyhoney 13,307 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 I never gave it much thought. The season ending two parter seems more adult orientated though. Altering small things in the past causing greater and greater disruptions in the future, until all was a lifeless wasteland, seems a bit much for the little ones to grasp. I was waiting for Starlight to grin and Twilight, and stomp on a butterfly! 2 Thank you Sparklefan1234!!!
Foxy Socks 2,599 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 Not really, I don't forget that it's made for the target audience, though I consider it more of a family show. kanwe yest 157 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 On episodes that really hype you, I do. Like the last two episodes of season 4. But of course I'm aware it was intended for a younger audience.
skbl17 199 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 No, I don't. MLP is a girls show, true...that doesn't mean I (as a guy) can't enjoy it.
Shimmer Sparkle 4,101 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 I honestly don't think about it that much. Although, I've had to make that realization a few times. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,558 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 I kinda forgot about that a long time ago. At this point, I am not too fond of giving a show like this such a simplistic genre or category. FiM just isn't a 'little girls show'. It is far beyond that at this point. What owuld we call the transformers cartoons? 'Little boys show?' Many people wouldn't because apparently a girl can watch that kind of show but a boy can't watch something like FiM. That stuff is a bunch of ideals I have distanced myself from.
Unlikeable Pony 2,698 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 Eh, I've never stopped realizing that this show and franchise are, at its core, 100% for the little girls. I understand that completely, as hasbro and the staff have made it VERY clear (and said so explicitly) that, while adult fans are a nice addition, the primary audience of young girls is still the priority by far. So I know that its "still" a little girls franchise. That being said, Its not something that I think about when WATCHING the show. I mean, when I watch transformers or TMNT I don't constantly think to myself "this is a small boys show" or anything I only think about such things when questions of merchandise or show directions for the future come up. Red Cedar 1,408 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 Funny thing is, if you make a show for little girls really, really well, it becomes a good show for anyone! 2 Roleplaying OC: Red Cedar - Cast Character: Applejack
cider float 2,538 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 Not really, I've always knew I was watching a little girl's show because the show doesn't go past a lot of barriers and seems pretty clean and even most of the time unlike how Japanese cartoons start out innocent and soft than goes hardcore and batshit crazy at the end. In fact the show seems to be plummeting into more of a typical girl's show. I mean telling Luna and Starlight it's okay let's be friends has been everything that needed to be said? Gimme a break. JeyWiz 1,097 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 (edited) Yes! Actually, I do! I thought i was the only one who sometimes forgets that the show is targeted to girls, maybe because I focus a lot of the fan content, which isn't too 'girly' at all, but no. Turns out that i'm not the only one who doesn't consider it a show for little girls anymore. Even Faust herself said that FiM was for all ages and genders. Maybe also because I don't buy the official toys that were made for the girls, and I only collect the funko models, posters etc. Edited December 20, 2015 by Ravelicious

Malinter 3,064 December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 (edited) Not really. The show is for everyone (that isn't a souless killjoy).
