movies/tv Should Disney Re-make the Star Wars Prequels?

Why start with the Prequels?

Wouldnt it make more sense, that they would remake the first 3 Movies, since the Special Effects werent that good as in the newer Prequels?

I mean, the last Prequel isnt that old...i mean its still old, but for me it would make more sense, to remake the first 3 Parts.

I wouldn't like a remastered version of the prequels. I don't think much can save the atrocious writing and corny acting brought to you by Lucas

I think it would be nice, however, to have them heavily edited or changed entirely, although that'd really fuck with the EU. The only decent prequel film was the Revenge of the Sith, which is what we wanted to see all along from the start (how Anakin transitioned to the dark side).

I've got a Slightly OT Question to ask, ok, MASSIVE MASSIVE SPOILERS, if you are not prepared to read this then don't read on.

Is Han Solo really dead? I don't think he is, because even though he dies in this film, Disney have this wierd habit of bringing characters back to life, specifically in their own films and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

EVEN MORE SPOILERS.

Phil Coulson dies in The Avengers, yet is resurrected in Agents of Shield.

Nick Fury dies in The Winter Soldier, and is revealed alive near the end.

Loki, Pepper Potts, even Iron Man himself. They all did not die, I have this feeling that in the next film, Han Solo will come back to life, and even if he doesn't, there's bound to be a ghost of him, like in Return of the Jedi.

Even if the prequels were good, they ruin the experience of the original movies by spoiling the surprises if you watch them before the originals, particularly that Darth Vader is Luke's father.

Yes.

Prequels are supposed to made so that you can watch them in order with the original films. If you watched all 6 films in order, so much stuff wouldn't be surprising. You'd know Luke and Leia were siblings. You'd know Vader was their father. You'd wonder why Obi-wan didn't remember R2-D2.

So yea, remake the films so they chronologically make sense, and have more depth. And make sure they aren't for kids. And don't make Anikin a whiny brat either.

Basally, do what this guy did, but better.

Why is this discussion everywhere? The prequels are no more flawed than the original trilogy, and I'm really tired of these butthurt purists complaining everywhere.

I'm actually starting to like the OT less because of all the whining about how it's perfect while the prequels suck. Both trilogies have high points and flaws, and without a character like Jar Jar, there'd be no Empire. Additionally, the acting wasn't bad in the prequels, nor the writing. The visual effects were good, too.

Everyone has preferences, and that's fine, but the constant hatred and claims that the prequels suck or don't exist is highly immature, especially considering that objectively, without the rose-tinted glasses, both trilogies are on pretty even footing.

The prequels do not need to be remade, and neither do the originals. Both series are good. Grow up people.

Unless they can actually make Attack of the Clones watchable(TPM had a lot of issues but I still found it enjoyable and RotS is honestly one of my favorite Star Wars films), then no. It just sounds like a waste of resources that could be used for new content instead remaking a trilogy fans have an unhealthy hateboner for

While I don't remember anything about the prequels (I fell asleep while watching them), I think they should. My friend told me that the prequels were garbage. From what I know, Disney should make one adjustment.

Have the character let JarJar get hit by that vehicle. At least, I remember them saving JarJar when I played the Lego games, and I only know about JarJar being a major reason that the prequels are bad. If they let JarJar die, then the prequels may be much better.

You shouldn't judge based on what someone tells you, you should watch them enough to remember and make your own opinion.

That aside, if Jar Jar had died at that point, the Empire wouldn't have existed, and the events of the beloved Original Trilogy wouldn't have ever happened. No matter how much people dislike Jar Jar, he's the reason Palpatine got into power, and without him, or someone just like him, it wouldn't have been possible.

I have yet to hear a valid reason that the prequels are supposedly bad; people just hate them for being different from what they expected.

I don't think the Prequels can be done any better, only worse.

The amount of money and special effects that went into making the Prequels in the first place, it difficult to match. If Disney or anyone else tried, it would just feel like a cheaper version.

The Prequels were responsible for the excellent Clone Wars series. I’m willing to keep them untouched as long as that series remains untouched

Not like Disney could do much better after the Sequels

No, because that would be a waste of resources and time. The prequels have their problems yes, but they aren't nearly as bad as some people say they are. Revenge of the Sith is actually pretty solid and I'm willing to fight for that.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Nah if it’s not broken don’t fix it.

Now for the trilogy if I have to power to remake it I would in a heartbeat. But keep the characters and change the plot for the better. Maybe extended to five movies instead of 3. If some miracle happens when Disney lost the ownership of Star Wars that will be the first task to do.

Prequels are bad (mines Revenge of the Sith which is competent) but they had there place. Take the good with the bad; I hate people saying to make things non-canon because they were bad. Like no, things aren't perfect, so too bad, not sorry.

Also, many people love the prequels; remaking them would be a huge fuck you to the fans. I still like even though episode 1 and 2 are pretty bad, but they have that so good it's bad and even the worst movie, imo, Solo, I don't think should be decanonized because it's bad. It's Star Wars and that's it. Star Wars isn't perfect. Going back to try and fix things and make them perfect is boring.

Anything to do with Star Wars and Disney is a huge no for me.

I really don't want them to ruin Episode III, being that it was the only movie that wasn't all "sith are bad, jedi are good." Instead of TELLING like they normally do, they SHOWED. Which was something, at least making it better than most of the fanbase lumping it with I and II would have you believe if not making it an actually good movie (like most Star Wars films seem to fail at doing, IMHO). But then Disney happened to Star Wars, and the quality decline was predictable and by Episode VIII, kind of obvious.
