Greatest thing to happen to you in 2015?

Made a 2014 version of this topic almost exactly a year ago, so felt like trying it again for this year, even if 2015 has a few days left before we really move on :3

So, what was your best moment of this year? :squee: I find it kinda hard to pick since this was an uneventful year for me- though, in a sense, a lot of good things have happened and I have very fond memories- but... 8D But... twilight_think_by_angelishi.gif

... okay, I can't actually pick x3 How about you guys? :) I hope it's been a good year for you all, and may the rest of it be kind to you too! ^_^

This is an easy question for me: I met my wonderful boyfriend, @ and I am just so happy to be with him. ^__^ I think that has easily been the best part of my entire year for sure.

Two things:

1) Reigniting my love for writing by writing Pony Fanfiction after years of not having the drive to write fiction of any kind (and actually managing to get featured!)

2) Landing a steady paying job after years of unemployment

I got my first job (and quit very soon after), started volunteering which made me more confident than I could ever imagine, went on my first date drinking to a bunch of 80's music. It's been a great year.

Damn, I'm gonna miss 2015. 2016's got a lot to live up to.

Graduation was the best part about 2015. No longer do I have to go to school, I am now a man.  :)

Well, clearly, finally being inspired to really learn the oboe, and finding a teacher.

It's all too interesting how it all worked out. Now I'm really playing a second of my top three instruments! I'd really given up on the oboe, telling myself that the bassoon was the only one for me even though I loved the oboe and tenor saxophone, too. They were too much for me, I thought.

...I could write a longggggggg blog-like post on this, as would be to be expected from me, I suppose, but I'm trying to avoid that... Lol. Keeping it as concise as I can! - Learning the oboe has helped me reach new heights as a musician. Heights I struggled so badly with on the bassoon back when I needed to learn these things. Funny, I got the oboe when I threw my hopes of going into my degree, or even going back to college in the trash. The majority of the year I continued on that path... In fact, it got so bad that I was really just telling myself I should get any and every instrument I want, and that kind of happened this year... I like to joke, calling myself the Brass/Woodwind Instrument equivalent of a 'Crazy Cat Lady', but I think that was really happening to me this year. With my love life turning hopeless, and everything else in my life already being hopeless, this 'joke' of mine, seemed like a serious addiction. I was sooo close to spending upwards of $7000 of my grocery store wage on an English horn. I don't even know what stopped me.

This is turning blog-like... Oops! >.< Getting to the point here, because there is one somewhere in this mess. xD Around mid to late summer I really started listening to Field of Reeds' music (not just on YouTube, though), and it really inspired me to pick the oboe back up. So I can really start this with her. The reason I really bring her up here, though, is that the expressiveness of her playing is what really inspired me. I wanted to start playing like that, whereas I never had before. And that's what I mean, when I say I've grown as a musician - when I got my lessons, I asked my lessons instructor to teach me these things, and she successfully has been doing so!

...But my teacher got down to the heart of things right off the bat, and really got me thinking about school again. Got me thinking of trying again and not being 'satisfied' being a miserable overnight stocker for the rest of my life. Not only has she been teaching me, but she's also looked into schools, and contacted people, all to help me get back. She is a blessing!

Sorry for the post that ended up being blog-like! I could have gone into so much more detail (like how I met my oboe teacher) but I left that out, because this isn't a blog. =P I just wanted to describe exactly how and why this shook my whole world. If I hadn't really listened to FoR's music (which I don't really remember what really got me to, as I had liked her music for a couple of years - at least - prior) or if that meeting up with my teacher hadn't happened, I'd be in a much different place.

The best thing? I ate in a non-eating area, the guards were wondering around and the food was smelly enough but I didn't get caught  B)

That's hardcore.

Best thing for me: getting a gift of $120 worth of polaroid film-- which is 48 pictures worth, but still

Started working with my cousin. Sometimes he pisses me off but otherwise it's very fun to travel and it's nice to finally have some cash in my pocket

And on the superficial side of things, getting a Vita, New 3DS, new Laptop and Smash DLC
