What is your favorite game in the Mario Kart series?

I've played every game in the series but Mario Kart 8, and my favorite is Mario Kart Wii. I love its wide selection of tracks, karts, and players.

While I love Mario Kart 64, my favorites are Mario Kart DS and Double Dash, it is a tie between those two. Both are great fun and MKDS is such an awesome game for being on a handheld, has a bunch of content too. Double Dash, to me, is the most unique in the franchise iwth seeming overbearing with new features, making me wish they would try that style again.

Mario Kart 64 is still a blast to play with a friend or friends, but it hasn't aged well. Super Circuit is behind DS and Double Dash, that was another fantastic handheld release.

My least favorite is easily the Wii release. Haven't played MK7 or 8 yet, though I really want to play 8 eventually.

I really liked Mario Kart 7. It added the Kart building mechanic, it removed the snaking problem of the DS one and it had some pretty brilliant stage designs. It has my favourite version of rainbow road where you race across the solar sustem and the planets.

64 has all of my nostalgia, but looking back... The AI is freaking merciless.

You reminded me of when I used to have the DS version about five years ago. It was a fun title as well. :)

What don't you like about the Wii version?

I've always loved Mario Kart Double Dash and 7. Double Dash is nostalgic to me, plus I really liked some of the unique things about the gameplay (i.e. the ability to choose 2 characters at once, why the hell wasn't that in later releases?), and 7 is just really fun on the 3DS, plus I love many of the stages. 8 looks great too, but I haven't played it for I do not have a Wii U.

Mario Kart 8 (Wii U) is the prettiest, fastest, and most content-rich Mario Kart, and Super Mario Kart (SNES) is still one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.  You've no idea how pleased I was when the original Rainbow Road was included in the Mario Kart 8 dlc.  I can't choose one over the other, so I choose both.

Mario Kart 8 is my favorite. It has so many maps, characters, and the game looks pretty damn gorgeous, too, I must say.

There are a few DLC packs, but if you buy the whole set, it's worth the money, and Link's part of it, too!

Also, unlocking all the cups and classes isn't stupid and annoying like Mario Kart Wii...

I think I like Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 8 the best. I guess I just prefer the bikes, now. =P

I actually like a lot of Mario Kart Double Dash's tracks the best and am happy when they reappear, but for some reason I just never really liked that game much.

Mario Kart Wii was one of the very first Mario Karts I ever played. It has an extremely wide range of characters and tracks. I also found it pretty cool how if you played Super Mario Galaxy on the same console, then you would unlock Rosalina in Mario Kart.

Mario Kart 8, only because of the amount available content. Mario Kart Wii and DS are both right behind it, and Double Dash is right behind those.

Let's see.

Super Mario Kart: Uhhhhhhhhhhhh.. I don't know. I've played the Smash Bros masterpiece on my brother's Wii U, and there didn't seem to be anything special about it. It's a great way to start the series though.

Mario Kart 64: Huge improvement in graphics, fun items, Yoshi Valley, the length of Rainbow Road, and the nostalgia that one would feel if they played the game as a kid.

Mario Kart Super Circuit: It's pretty much just a portable Super Mario Kart, but they did bring back Super Mario Kart's Rainbow Road which means it's the first time a retro track had been added.

Mario Kart Double Dash: Two characters in a kart, and items that only two of the racers can use.

Mario Kart DS: Really cool tracks like Waluigi Pinball, Tick Tock Clock, and Delfino Square. It also added the Shell, Banana, Leaf and Lightning Cup, for a whole 16 more tracks which are all retro tracks, allowing for players to go back to their childhood by playing old tracks that they loved back in the N64 days.

Mario Kart Wii: The addition of bikes that can wheelie to go faster, and the POW block that's fun to avoid and the lightning cloud that makes you hurry to another racer to pass it on. It also introduced tricks that you can do off ramps or bouncy things, and they speed you up on landing.

Mario Kart 7: They added new ways to race, underwater and in the air. They also added back coins which make you go faster and are used to unlock things.

Mario Kart 8: Gorgeous graphics, and very fun courses to race on. They added anti-gravity mode which is fun to race with. They added DLC characters like Link and Villager, and DLC cups like the Triforce and Egg Cup.

Mario Kart GP and GP2: They added PAC-MAN. They added PAC-MAN. 'Nuff said.

So overall, I think MK8 is the best because the graphics make the game feel good to play and they added DLC characters and cups, and MKGP may come at a close second for me because of PAC-MAN, though I've only seen gameplay and never actually played it before.

I like Mario Kart 8 the best...Sure I miss the characters from Mario Kart Wii (I'd rather play as the Kong Family than the Koopa family...I miss Dixie.) and I miss Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64 and the items of Double Dash...But dear god is Mario Kart 8 fun! And they didn't just bring back old racing tracks they remastered them and they look beautiful! *fangirling*

Sadly I can't play Mario Kart 8 too long without feeling dizzy.

While 8 is probably far better objectively, I've always had a soft spot for MKWii.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
