An Alicorn? From everything we know being an Alicorn was something that one had to earn and was to be quite rare, yet this new foal is just given Alicorn status by virture of having a mother that's an Alicorn. To me this reeks of Super Saiyans in Dragon Ball, where being a SSJ was supposed to be some truly special thing then later on Vegeta became a SSJ but at least with him being the prince of all Saiyans and such a bad arse and Goku's rival it at least made some sense, then everyone and their mother became a SSJ thus cheapening it. 

 

Now I realize in the upcoming episodes they may have some explanation and do the story right, but I am really worried that much like becoming a SSJ was in DB, becoming an Alicorn will no longer be this extraordinarily rare "gift". As it was Celestia and Luna were to be the only Alicorns with Twilight being an understandable addition being the main character and Celestia's student but here comes Alicorn Cadence out of nowhere and who's ascension only was told through comics. 

 

Perhaps I am reading to deeply into this but I would like to hear your thoughts.

Well, sure it's kind of bullshit that McFlurry was born an alicorn from a pegasus-born pony, but I guess it'll open a bit of alicorn lore before the upcoming pony movie, asuming they keep most of the leaked scrip intact

Well, "The Journal of The Two Sisters" pretty much hinted, if not out-right confirmed, that alicorns can be born naturally; as was the case for Celestia and Luna.

 

With that said it never bothered me, and actually helps to expand on the lore in a satisfactory way; IMO.

I personally love the ode of Flurry Heart being an alicorn. Most likely, this will help us get an explanation on whether or not Celestia and Luna were born alicorns, or if they became alicorns later on.

Just look at this as a chance to learn more about alicorns.

As long as we get some kind of interesting expansion on the lore of what it means to be an alicorn, then I am perfectly fine with Flurry Heart as an alicorn.

I am more intrigued than perturbed, for right now anyways. In the coming seasons, I just wonder how Princess Flurry Heart will play into the grand scheme of things. How she will contribute to the primary plot surrounding the main six will be interesting indeed. Also reflecting on the episode "Baby Cakes", Twilight and Rarity instructed the Cakes to be wary of a baby unicorns magic (as it can be unstable). Taking a look at the season 6 promotional video, I can see that a baby alicorn's magic is downright catastrophic. This will certainly be an interesting entrance to season 6.

The thing with Super Saiyan was that it was still a big achievement even when more characters, Vegeta, Future Trunks and Gohan pretty much had to reach deep into their souls in order to achieve Super Saiyan. The magic was gone when Goten and Present Trunks got it because they got it for no reason other than to make it a joke.

 

And to echo what said, they said it's possible for alicorns to be naturally born. Besides I don't think we've ever seen any alicorn married apart from Cadance and Shiny, and with Cadance already being an alicorn, I can buy ponies receiving alicorn powers from birth

Nope. As long as the Alicorn lore is good and solid, Im alright. I love the lore in MLP most of all, and I think that even though Cadence and Twilight worked for their Alicorn status..We dont know if Luna and Celestia did. Maybe now we will know.

I don't mind it honestly. Strangely enough, I'm actually 100% cool with flurry heart. Which is weird, because All the REST of the finale has me turned off, while it seems like everyone else is freaking out about Flurry heart but cool with what I'm in a tizzy about XD

I'm okay with how Princess Cadence's and Shining Armor's foal will be introduced like, since alicorns can be born based on the MLP lore. Though, I would want to see a male alicorn to appear somewhere in the near future.

Yes because it was emphasized how troublesome either peg or uni foals could be individually, imagine how much worse an ali foal will be. 

 

No because if two earth ponies can have a peg and uni foal, because the dna is in the family tree, then an ali and a uni should also be able to have an ali......Also I've bred pokemon, not much surprises me breeding wise anymore (other than flurry being a NATURAL born ali, wasn't sure that was do-able other than Tia/Lulu's genetic line)
