i recently played through Braid once again, then it struck me that i never really listened to the AMAZING soundtrack it got..
it just emerge the whole experience and story, and i think its a jewel that needs to bee seen c:

Well there's 3 games that tie with each other for me on this list.

Mass Effect Trilogy soundtrack. The emotion that it inspires is amazing. When the game wants to be sad, it's hard to hold in a tear, when it wants to be intense, you're on the edge of your seat and the secret behind it is all in the soundtrack.

Radiata Stories. This game is a Japanese RPG from the PS2 that released in the U.S. at around 2004-2005 I think. The soundtrack was beautiful, between the traveling and the battle music it's just a great soundtrack that I listen to even in my spare time.

Legend of Zelda. Look me straight in the eyes and tell me that this game doesn't have some of the most memorable songs in gaming. I love all of it, from the spooky dungeon music, to the cheery village music. This series has an absolutely fantastic sound track!

I would like to also include the Mass Effect soundtrack (all three games had amazing music) and the Halo soundtrack (I never played Halo 1 or Wars). Those were probably the most epic soundtracks I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.

 

Legend of Zelda WW/TP (only ones I've played) also had good stuff, and GEX/Tomba! had the occasional track I liked.

I find the lack of Command and Conquer Tiberium Dawn music disturbing.

 

Who wouldn't want to to demolish their enemy's base while listening to this.

OH! I can't believe I forgot, but "Still Alive" from the Portal soundtrack is beautiful too. I love that song! Heard they may be making a movie based off the Portal/Half-Life series, so let's hope the music and story is just as good in that as it was in the game.

The best one by far in my opinion would have to be Zero Two's theme from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. It just made it so dramatic and epic. I feel as if I didn't play the game enough, as I never got to Zero Two.

My favourite is Dr Nefarious' battle theme from Ratceht and Clank 3. It is just so nostalgic and upbeat - if I were to make a top 10 Boss themes list, it would be #1.

I have a feeling Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance's soundtrack is going to grow on me.

 

 

That track plays during the boss fight in the demo. It uses the instrumental bit of the first two or so minutes for most of the fight. Then, about two-thirds of the way through, just before you're about to finish off the boss and he starts really trying to hammer into you, the part at around 2:25 starts.

 

This little dynamic shift is extremely mood-setting. Play the demo, you'll see what's up.

Who doesn't love this song.  Now, every time I feel tense and stressed out, I just turn on Ocarina of Time, walk over to Lon Lon Ranch, and just stand there, listening to this song.

Oh god I love this game. Even if you don't like Okami, most people will agree that this game has a beautiful soundtrack.

If I had to choose a second favorite than it would have to be The Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker's soundtrack.

Ezio's Family... Every time I hear this, it makes me just want to go crawl in a corner of sadness ; ~ ; Ezio had it rough, and this song can just bring the feels.

 

 

 

 

Earth... Dangit, just freaking amazing

 

 

 

 

Venice Rooftops... Just brings the feels back when I first discovered AC2 and had no idea what I was doing.

Calling it right now best original score for a video game of 2013.  Well if such an award existed it would be a winning nominee.  But just like the How To Train Your Dragon soundtrack this would probably get beaten by some toy story indie game soundtrack

I don't think I have set favorite soundtrack as I actually love quite a lot if them from a wide variety if games. Too many to go and list.

 

However, I will say that as of recently I've rekindled my love for Doopliss' battle them from Paper Mario TTYD.

Still can't say its my absolute favorite though.
