spoiler Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolts

That's exactly why we (I) don't want her to become a Wonderbolt. Besides the fact that being in Wonderbolts is a job like being in military and (if writers wanted to be realistic, which they don't aim to) she wouldn't have time for her friends, it's exactly it what you pointed out. She's too good for them.

Even if she wasn't superior to them in flying, which she is, (why don't they want to recruit the only pony on the planet who is able to break the barrier of sound?) she still is superior to them in terms of personality traits. Obviously she, as a member of the main cast, is really developed in this case, but it's not the point. Since some point in the show, I think it was S4, Wonderbolts are presented as a bunch of jerks. Rarity Investigates, where is the "innocent until proven guilty"? Instead, there is the "guilty until proven innocent" wtf (ping). Rainbow Falls, are you really trying to replace your friend with someone superior by using manipulation, even though you're still the sole professional group amongst groups of ammateurs (ping)? Wonderbolts Academy, why do you keep justifing actions of someone who gets others in danger, until RD shows you that you are stupid (ping)?

RD should tell'em that she doesn't want to belong to a group of churls.

Agreed there.

I really wish they'd have her decide she doesn't want to be a wonderbolt: basically, end the arc by showing that she IS good enough to be one but that she just decided that's not for her in life.

This is certainly a good line of reasoning. HOWEVER if this next episode doesn't show them in a better light, its just going to make it that much harder for me to buy why Rainbow wants to be part of them. At this point she has done more to save Equestria than their current roster of members put together and has a higher level of influence as she rubs shoulders with literal Princesses. If anything she should be the Wonderbolts boss, not their recruit.

Yeah , she elemoen of harmony, sonic rainboom and savour three times over..she should be running the Wonderbolts.  Hell I pretty sure in a non-offical level she OUTRANKS them!  I mean consoul of friendship. if that not polical power I dont know what is.

Elements of harmony more or less don't matter anymore since they've been jammed into a tree and forgotten about though :P

She... gets friendship missions from a giant, seemingly pointless hunk of furniture now. that's much less impressive :P

That map is directly linked to the Tree of Harmony though. Basically she takes her orders straight from Equestria's Deity for crying out loud.

Yeah not to mention

Saved the wonderbolts lives

Young flier compition(only pony able to do a sonic rainboom)

connections with bucking royality

Stood up for herself when she was framed and got spitfire back in time.(unless the higher up father then Spifire don't care)

And if we are going with her becoming an offical wonderbolt lets not forget that migh retread Wonderbolts Academy.

Seriously Rainbow better off in reserves.

A coffee table that doesn't seem to have any real plan or bigger purpose behind itself, given how little the map missions have amounted to, and how it did absolutely nothing during all the bad timelines that occured :P

You wound me with your lack of thinking outside the box.

Rainbow Dash has clearly had a massive influence on the Wonderbolts and has clearly made them change their ways. Perhaps she'll become captain one day, but she is most certainly not better off simply remaining in the Reserves.

Seriously, I can't even tell you how much it irritates me that people think Rainbow Dash should give up the one and only dream she's had since the start of the show. Most of the mane six are entirely goalless, and Twilight is the ONLY one who's arc ever manages to actually progress at a reasonable pace, while everyone else remains in almost exactly the same place season after season. So what would Rainbow aspire to if she gives up on the Wonderbolts? Absolutely nothing, just like everyone else?

I think she'd make a great adventurer like what daring do is.

 :)

She's got a good role model there who's job synchs up well with Dash's general likes and skills.

Well, between The Crystalling - Baby Cakes & Gauntlets of Fire - Dragon Quest they do seem to be redoing previous episodes only better.  So, this would be version 2 of Wonderbolts Academy

Unlike Baby Cakes and Dragon Quest though Wonderbolts Academy is already an excellent episode so that's a mighty tall order

For those wondering why Dash would still want to join the Wonderbolts after various issues with them, I had this to say in another thread:

Rainbow Dash's admiration of the Wonderbolts up to this point has been based on two things: Their flying ability, and the elite position they hold in Equestrian society because of their flying ability. That, above all else, is what she admires, and what she wants to emulate. As far as the shortcomings in character exhibited by some of the Wonderbolts themselves, Rainbow Dash has, consistently, rebuffed them on it herself, once to the point of almost giving up on them. So while the Wonderbolts themselves might not have a character Rainbow wishes to copy (and she knows this), her flying ability still is what gives her the biggest thrill. If anything, I think perhaps her encounters with the Wonderbolts' flawed characters has perhaps strengthened her resolve to join them, not just because of their status as elite fliers and their place in society, but because one day... just maybe... when Rainbow Dash is sitting in Spitfire's old office, there's going to be some changes made.

Given that the rest of the Mane 6 have already achieved their main goals, Rainbow Dash should have her day as well. Although that may unfortunately mean pulling her away from the rest of the cast for extended periods of time, it would signify her devotion to things greater than herself. It also shouldn't be a problem given that the show has a loose concept of time, where it can easily time-skip or have the action happen off-screen in a manner in which it could easily explain away.

As we've seen, the Wonderbolts have serious issues with characters behaving dishonorably within their ranks, from Soarin' deserting his duty, to Spitfire not recognizing dishonorable behavior by her subordinates, to Wind Rider prioritizing his ego so much that he's willing to sabotage the team for it. Even so, it's all a test to see just how badly Rainbow wants it. And if she wants it badly enough, one day she'll straighten the Wonderbolts out.

Well that just season rot for you bu no a bad thing persay.

Okay so Rainbow isn't perfect but dang if Spitfire lets teasing go on, she really need to be booted off as a leader. Hell she the one who spearheaded that whole -get dash on the Cloudsdale team for the games- thing..backstabbing her own so called team mate.  That moral was so forced at the end "yeah maybe i've leard something too?" Like seriously? who promoted Spitfire to leader statue, where the general just looking a numbers or something.

Oh well i'll see when the episode comes out.
