About a year ago, I had a recurring nightmare about being taken hostage by terrorists in my own home. That freaked me out more than any recurring nightmare I ever had as a kid.

Never had a recurring nightmare and nightmares mostly stopped since I disbelieve anything superstitious including fear of the dark now. But one dream was having a creepy girl chanting a very catchy song about graphic details into killing a village as I mesmerizedly waltzed up an infinite uphill to the beat of the music and it looked like .mov's ponyville was a circle around a city, and there was a river circle around that and then grass and a bridge over the stream, then it'd repeat infinitely. Some graphic details I will avoid but that's basically it.

Granted it didn't really scare me just the most graphic one I had. The one that scared me most I had a panic attack and it was sorta pervy and super creepy and I was trapped, nothing happened to me but still it was quite frightening being trapped in such a manner.

Only recurring nightmare I can remember is one where I'm late for something at a particular building (school, office, ect.) However, as soon as I reach the building it turns into a labyrinthian M.C. Esher drawing, like stairs that lead to random rooms, doors to nowhere and needing to go up to floor 2, then door to floor 1 to reach floor 3, ect.

When I was little, there was a time when I kept having scary dreams about demonic hounds attacking me. Nowadays, it's very rare to have a scary dream. Occasionally, I'll have a sad one, but they're usually positive or neutral. ^^

Probably a nightmare that came after me reading a nightmare moon fanfiction. Kept dreaming I was a pony and nightmare moon kills me... Lol

I've had recurring dreams of being crushed. Not in the typical 'squashed under something heavy' kind of way, but more like imploding in on myself from increased density. I know that seems like a weird one, but I've had it since I was very young and it's always scary and unnerving. I still have it occasionally, usually when I'm not feeling well, like in a fever dream.

Earlier this year, my dad terrified me by yelling me me and insulting me just because I was too tired to hang out with my sister. (And he somehow linked it to me not caring about my niece who was a year old and sick at the time? I didn't even say anything about that and I didn't start any sort of argument.) I occasionally have some dreams reliving that night, and it bothers me every time. Luckily, this dream hasn't woken me up yet.

Mine still repeats itself sometimes. It's a dream that originated in my childhood - it's about a tornado happening outside and me seeking shelter in the basement of my house. Usually it would end with me getting sucked into the tornado and thrown into the sky with a scary feeling that woke me up.

When I was 6-7 I had a nightmare that repeated 3 times. I was at home alone, everything around had something like a green filter (like fallout 3) and there was a war. Windows were covered with something so I didn't see what was happening outside, but I was heading gunshots. After a while they started to shoot at my house, bullets were coming from the floor, ceiling, walls, everywhere. I was lying on the bed terrified for the whole dream. Almost the exact dream was happening for 3 days in a row, I became to fear dreaming. Eventually I told about it my grandma, she somehow calmed me and I never experienced this dream again

I always dream about the end of the world. Usually it's a meteorite.

I have had a few of those, so I guess they are repeating.

I have had a few nightmares about an old IRL friend of mine, especially during the time I was avoiding him. He had started using drugs and done some things I cannot stand for, so I slowly walked away (make that running!). Dreaming about different situation where he came back into my life was on repeat for days (nights I mean)!

This one where my teeth fell out and then my whole body twisted and turned inside out.  My nightmares usually have A LOT of body horror, thankfully I don't have a lot of nightmares.

I think the scariest dreams are when someone is following yourself. Being hunted is very scary. However, I have not had any repeating dreams being hunted, so that's good! I don't have any repeating dreams.

This isn’t really a scary dream but once I had the same dream twice where I was playing Mario 64 and a Yoshi with a crinkly nose challenged Mario to a race. Mario ended up sliding around and cheating but he still won.
