I don't let them get to me because that's what they want. They do what they do for attention and want us to lash out against them in order to make themselves feel good. If you ignore their efforts, you can prove yourself better than them, and they will lose what little power they actually have. 

 

They have no power at all unless you decide to give them some. And every-time they start an attack on a fandom, there is always a set amount people ready to hand them the keys to come inside and be more annoying. As long as you are giving them what they want, they willl always be showing up... ignore them and they will just give up.

 

Anti-fandoms are the lowliest. People that actually go around looking for a fandom to hate for no reason really are a waste of space. Why don't they just go and enjoy something instead of grinding on people's nerves? 

 

Because they do enjoy that. Anti-fandoms are fandoms in their own right you could say.

I can totally see where they are coming from. This fandom, and many many others, have loads of losers who obsess over cartoon horses, some going as far as to delude themselves that they are actually in a relationship with them. That's weird. Is it bad? For your mental health, yes, but if you want to do it and it doesn't hurt other people then no, it's not bad. But that will never stop people thinking it's weird and judging you.

 

A lot of people who go out looking to antagonize bronies in places like youtube comments are mostly there to just get on peoples nerves because it's funny. There are people who will get mad and upset and also try to deny it. Responding to them at all gives them what they came for lmao, and then you just reinforce the stereotype.

You can say those people have no lives and it's sad they have nothing better to do, but how many hours a day do you spend sitting on a computer?

I have a particular attraction to things that are considered unacceptable. And though that is not my basis for liking FiM, I would certainly feel just a bit disappointed if there were not people who disagreed with my ideology. I've never found something in life that didn't seem like it had its place, and hatred is no exception.

For the most part I think their just a bunch of angsty whiners who thinks it's cool to hate something.

Or maybe they're just rude people who like making fun of others and we just look like an easy target.

 

But to be honest, the impression I got talking with my first pony hater who actually identified as an anti brony was that they're all fruit loops. It was a few years ago, when I was still a somewhat heavy Twitter user. My Twitter was still mostly anime stuff at the time, but I'd been happy to have gotten caught up on the show.

 

I began talking to this girl and we were getting on just fine with each other and somehow talk turned to MLP and bronies. I didn't bother telling her I was one of the things she was trash talking. I was kinda curious how she could find anything to hate about a fandom and a show I had grown to love so much. 

 

And let me tell you! That girl must have been crazy. She went on and on about how ponies were brain washing young men and she talked about how her and her boy friends were like rebels. She showed me this stupid youtube video which was clearly satire to anyone with a brain. But she was taking it literally. 

 

It was talking about once you become infected you can't stop yourself from singing the pony music and posting the ponies.

Finally I was like, "Listen, I just so HAPPEN to be a brony." I was sick of hearing crap. 

"Oh no," she'd said.She started talking to me like I was some kind of victim. 

 

It wasn't long though before we we having a debate. A debate I was able to win.I did that by comparing the anime fandoms with the brony fandom. I asked her, "What would you do if someone told you that all otaku were perverts and wanted to get with high school girls. Don't bother, you would be offended because they're saying things that aren't true.

 

Anime fans who wear the badge of the anti brony and just recycle insults used on them as if they're new. Well they're the worse type of people!

You know, basically everything you just said could be with some very minor tweeks the exact verbatim post an "anti-brony" would make about a "brony" The same tired jabs at their mental functions and questioning of their sanity.

Anyway, not trying to single you out or pick on you in any way, but your post was just a great example of my below point.. so I had to use it.

 

I get where you are coming from and all, but seriously.. people have been hating things since there was such a thing as things. And since people have mouths and fingers they have been more than happy to let everyone around them know how much they like or dislike something since they realized they could do it and someone would stand around and listen. I can seriously understand when someone goes out of their way to attack you personally or harass you and try to make you uncomfortable in a particular setting why you would become upset over it, but if they are just banging their head on a keyboard or putting up pointless facebook pages, is it really worth getting irate over? I mean I don't lose any sleep over them or care about what they think... it just seems like such a waste of effort in part to bother with them.

 

If someone wants to write me a book report on why MLP sucks, and how they are destroying my life and turning me into a queer bestiality loving cellar dweller (common insults towards bronies)... well... good for them. I mean I could write an equal book report on why they are bigoted knuckle-draggers determined to live in the dark ages or some such (common insults to use against not-bronies), but naw... I would rather go do something I enjoy.

I really do have a stance on anti-broneis as I saw them all the time at my old high school back in 2014. That was the year I become a brony and I've decided to keep it secret ever since because of the bullying that happened with bronies at my old high school. I really did think it was horrible of how other kids that I knew that where bronies got bullied. I just don't get it why you would make fun of a kid who watches MLP. If only people would for once stop making fun of bronies!!

The problem is that quite a few of them lie. There's this one group on Facebook named "Horrible Bronies" that claimed several Bronies threatened to rape their family. I asked for proof and he refused to give me any, just calling me "rabid".

I think anti bronies are flawed people who have room to improve and I believe they can improve but it's going to be quite difficult yet still possible to convert them into treating people with respect. But when they do hate, it's kinda funny unless I'm not in the mood to be insulted.

If someone dislikes the show, I obviously have zero issue, that's their opinion. In fact, I strongly dislike when people try and "convert" these people to joining the fandom. But those who go out of the way to hate on the fandom itself, and put people down for having the AUDACITY to enjoy a show, I have zero respect or tolerance for.

If it's better to not engage them in the first place, staff should ban them on sight so they can't be engaged.

What annoyed me was how he just comes in, insults a massive group, then calls me an intellectually inferior being for not immediately saying "Oh, ok then" like his parents probably do when he says dumb stuff like that. He doesn't say why he believes Starlight haters are dumb, he just insults me and got hilariously defensive when I asked what accomplishes he has.
