Techno Universal 2,575 December 15, 2016 Share December 15, 2016 Well I definitely do!!! The thing is that my ability of seeing good in things has actually become a lot more advanced as it's now pointing me in the right direction. Possibly a direction that could save humanity from destroying the world. 2 Message from UNIT: UBC-001 (Original image used made by @chaosprincess signature composed by @Kyoshi) My theory of MLP OC: Techno Universal ask me!: Link
GrimGrimoire 4,973 December 15, 2016 Share December 15, 2016 Yeah I do.. the very fact I am here in a forum devoted to a kids cartoon show reminds me of it all the time. I may not love everything the same way I loved them as a child, but I do still retain my wonder and fascination for many of the same things I did when i was. 4 ~No profound statement needed~
PinkiePie97 913 December 15, 2016 Share December 15, 2016 (edited) Did you get this from The Goldbergs? Anyway, I still do. In addition to MLP, I still love watching a lot of other cartoons and have no plans to stop anytime soon. Tao 8,205 December 15, 2016 Share December 15, 2016 I do, i sometimes just want to explore a path for the what if, or let my wonder in how a unicorn might look peeking in the last rays of sunlight close to creek. I get captured by watching a bird of prey fly and can just watch them for as long as I can.

Nerdy Luigi 2,065 December 15, 2016 Share December 15, 2016 I guess you can say in a way my life is based around video games, which I have loved since I was a child, and I have extreme moments of nostalgia involving games I played when I was 7-10 area, so yeah I'd say so. Heck, it's most of why Yooka-Laylee seems so amazing to me. IT LOOKS LIKE BANJO-KAZOOIE REMASTERED AND RESKINNED! MUST HAVE!

Steel Accord 6,660 December 16, 2016 Share December 16, 2016 (edited) I have a healthy sense of wonder, period. The feeling doesn't have to be limited to our childhoods. Wonderment is simply the feeling of being awed by something amazing in scale, physical, emotional, etc. You'd have to be pretty jaded to look over the Aegean Sea or the Grand Canyon or witness one of Shakespeare's plays being performed live and not feel a sense of appreciation for the world beyond yourself. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,885 December 16, 2016 Share December 16, 2016 I still have it plenty! ^___^ This could be because of my weird brain of mental issues but I have a very child-like personality. A lot of my aspects from my childhood stick with me and I view this as a very positive factor. that is why, for example, I love playing games that can give me that sense of wonder and adventure, I get really into it. :3

Kiri 7,290 December 16, 2016 Share December 16, 2016 I love to escape to my own world of magic and fantasy, and I love shows of that genre. There are also many things I'm fascinated by and curious about in the world. I'd say that being an adult and experiencing a bit more of the "real world" has had an efffect on my outlook on life, but I still like to use my imagination quite a bit, especially when doing artwork.

Lil Pip 775 December 17, 2016 Share December 17, 2016 Easy to understand?!!? Nothing is easy to understand! We but take the word of textbooks in how technology works, but can you see for yourself the electricity itself flow? Can you feel each strand of molecules that forms that clothes you wear or the toys you come to love? In ignorance there is bliss, in Confusion there lies the Magic! It is easy to understand because I was too lazy to write notes in school and half the time tried understanding the lecture instead. Also I used to google stuff that I wanted to know or was interested in. Now the prediction of the results of my googling are entirely predictable, because lets say blueberries do or do not help brain function. Lets say I didn't google it yet, now I can approximate its just a food, so when it effects brain function it is going to be relative to diet. So if it did improve function either they weren't eating fruit, or were not eating carbs, or replaced something unhealthy in the diet with it. So I google it and blueberries have more antioxidants than most fruits, and upon further research you find that brains require some carbs for smooth function, but alot of carbs cause oxidation and stress to the brain and decreases performance. So now I know it improves performance when we replace something like soda, with alot of blueberries. Same calories, similar sugar (but high fructose corn syrup produces extra oxidation as well which antioxidants protect you from). Because blueberries are very high in antioxidants it'd probably cause far less oxidation damage to the brain and the only downside is you need to chew or might have allergies to it or something. And other studies say fruit helps lose weight and that grain carbs are what is unhealthy and added sugars and artificial sugars(somehow artificial sugars cause more oxidation than sugars themselves, more acid in the blood basically). But if they already ate say, blackberries and not soda, then the amount of diet change would be minimal and the effect may be negligible. Unless of course the blackberries were organic without pesticide and the blueberries in said study were gmo and used pesticides and fertilizer and are domestic and not the wild blueberries, then the study would find that blueberries are less healthy. But that wouldn't happen because a significant portion of americans are unhealthy (heart disease is number one killer by far, and 30% of americans are overweight or obese) so the odds are really any fruit or vegetable would find positive correlation. So when people say avocados or coconuts are healthy, they simply have less bad than what the other people were already eating. Then they get to market their avocados and make money, so all they need to do is fund a science team to research into avocados, and then its almost always going to have good results. Then they get to sell avocados more than the money they put into the study, and the study is repeatable so it checks out and doesn't hurt sales because they didn't hire the science team for fraud. So when cheerios says lowers heart disease, its because it literally contains as few calories as possible not because its a healthy grain, and heart disease is actually caused from carbohydrates. So cheerios gets to sell you less for more and you get to think its healthy when its not healthier than say a salad with the glass of milk you would've used on the cereal. Its not healthy, its just less unhealthy. But for good reason, you see how much more sugar lucky charms has? lol. Basically, because I indulged in curiosity onto google, my curiosity has waned and everything sorta easily ties into what I already know, even if my first assumption is wrong I still have multiple guesses beyond that so I am not surprised anymore.
Widdershins 9,960 December 17, 2016 Share December 17, 2016 Basically, because I indulged in curiosity onto google, my curiosity has waned and everything sorta easily ties into what I already know, even if my first assumption is wrong I still have multiple guesses beyond that so I am not surprised anymore. Ah, but you see, you've lost your curiosity because you assume facts are stable & indivisible. And you did bring that up. Avocados are healthy, but healthier compared to what, as based on who's personal experience, in relation to what processes involved? It's why I don't google. Who knows where these sentences sprung up from! There's a big difference between "we've tested it on rats, and the rats did fine" and "I dunno, read it on wikipedia." It does seem somewhat folly to assume the stances & experiences of others, or indeed ourselves, can be substituted as concrete fact. As any doctor can tell you, doing the same thing that worked fine for one patient could have wildly drastic different effects for another. For example I could have an allergic reaction to cantaloupe, but that could be that the first three & only attempts I ate it produced an ill reaction because each of those brands all came from the same unnamed supplier that happened to spray their produce with some chemical that seeped in and that's what I was reacting to. To just come to the conclusion that Cantaloupe=Bad would be barebones & restricting our actions and therefore further tailoring our lives. In effect, magic lies between the lines. Each sentence has its own intentions & inflections that make it sound different to the sayer or to the reader! Each sentence can be broken down to each word & in each word has its own definitions and worlds of its own! Further down to each letter used or to the shape of the white of that page around those letters! Do I have "Wonderment?" Sure! The more you see, the more you have to understand! The more you have given to you, the more to confuse & have yet more to consider & wonder over! .....though it still does frequently give me headaches all the same. Hee, hee! Do love the way you talk, Pippy! My philosopher versus your scientist! We could talk in circles for hours & rarely come to an end! Beatings & Salivations Everybeing! Do love the way you talk, Pippy! My philosopher versus your scientist! We could talk in circles for hours & rarely come to an end! Philosophy refuses to come to an end. Science I just need to update my end based on higher explanations and larger pools of data and leave it open-ended, and sometimes its hard to leave it open-ended, usually through sheer habit of explanation though. I like how upbeat you are though, if anything I will compare this to the episode Pinkie Keen. I honestly am not used to feeling love in this manner. My heart is probably emitting these sorta hormones right now https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/02/080226104403.htm (or I am tired and its causing psychological biases) or at least stress relief ones. But whats nifty is bayesian inference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayesian_inference or such. Which is why we can make assumptions sometimes about the world we live in if the data is on a certain trend. (just copy pasta the broken link if you would) Although I am sure philosophy I am borrowing some ideas from, overall I sorta think its silly. But that could just be me because I prefer a more concrete view of reality, perhaps I am more aligned with order than chaos. I also believe everything is understandable though, even to the point to arguing with people over the concept of eldritch abominations lol.
