I wish I was diagnosed when I was young. I wasn't diagnosed on the spectrum until I was 32 years old, 3 years ago. Under the old names, I have Asperger syndrome. Wish I knew more people on the spectrum that had similar interests...

I believe that I probably have undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome. There's just so much about me and my life that fits with it. I really wish that I'd have gotten the possibility checked out sooner, but my silence was interpreted as stupidity when I was younger instead... Seriously, I got into Kindergarten late because they thought because I wouldn't speak that I was dumb or something.

Would you consider yourself introvert or extravert? If introvert, how do you react to people trying to become friends?

I believe that in modern society a lot of people like to label themselves. Some to have victim points, some for attention and others who genuinely are affected by it putting the label to explain. Mainly I say this as anyone who knows autism would know that in most cases it is no joke there are many levels of it. I believe everyone literally everyone can identify with some of the asperger or autism spectrum. People can claim they are autistic just having slight communication problems this would be a level one autism. You have the level two being repetitive actions and this I would say is autism as you do this action to ground yourself. Then you have level three and that is where you start to need more support that is.

I have autism I already know that aspergers and autism in general although I also have hyperactivity so really I can not say that it affected much unless you think needing to flick a lightswitch certain amount of times somehow prevents you from living daily life. My main trouble is sounds and visuals as they upset me to the point of needing to block it out entirely as is why I loved having headphones and phones are definitely an autist friend I would say. Of course though it is by no means preventing me from living my life on daily basis while it is difficult you learn to pretty much use it to your advantage such as being super interested in things can really help you in school.

My mom never told me I had autism until I was 16. We were both coming home from her old workplace one day and she told me how she had to fight the school system to stop them from labeling me mentally retarded and putting me on drugs in the days when this kind of thing wasn't fully understood. All of my siblings seemed to know that I was different a lot better than I did.

I have it myself. I wouldn't say it's very severe or impacts my life in a major way, the thing thats affected most personally is my communication skills. I can be better or worse from time to time, though.

My voice can sometimes be quite flat and sound uninterested and I also get very intense fixations on things. My 'special interest' right now is Splatoon and it has been since 2019.

I would say my posture can be somewhat odd, too.

I could be considered autistic. I've been using this forum for almost ten years. Mostly monologuing with myself. But that is because my body lacks the natural impulses that drive normal people to interact with one another. So, I am like a ghost among the living. Watching but rarely interacting. And the truth is that I do not wish to do so, because of this condition.

If you read some of my posts. You will realize that the nature of these writings is almost always purely fictional. To give me a sense of reason.

So, I live inside my head, and project a fictional perception of the world over the real one, so I can give purpose to this life. Since, life took away my biological reason to be here. I am not attracted to people. I don't see myself in people, besides my own family because we share the same condition. So, once they are gone, I will follow.

I am autistic. Doesn't keep me from having an admittedly small social life, but hey! I still have one!

I have a form of autism. I can't really tell though if it significantly impacts my social life or if it's just social anxiety and poor social skills. It could be all three.

I am! I am!

I was diagnosed in the late 1980s, and I was still a little kid. :sealed: This is highly unusual, as most people's parents aren't as proactive as mine were.

Thanks to the early intervention, I got support and help when I needed it most. :kindness: I grew up into an adult who understands herself very well, and who knows her limits.;)
