I was just about to start watching Nichijou when I got into ponies. After that I put all anime on hold for a while so I haven't seen it yet but I'm looking forward to it. I love stuff like that. It reminds me of Azumanga, Pani Poni Dash!, and Kyou no Go no ni, which are all some of my favourite comedies.

Oh I know what you mean, I'm doing that same thing for this season. There's some anime from last season that's still running into the current and I just stopped watching in the middle of it all, lol.

 

I've seen the first episode of Guilty Crown, and I tell you it was exceptional. Certainly not what I was expecting.

I like DBZ (DBZ Abridged as well haha), Naruto, Pokemon, Original YuGiOh (Yugioh abridged too), BoBoBoBoBoBoBo (just for the pure insanity!), and Bleach.

Can anyone tell me what "slice-of-life" even means? I have no idea.

 

But I absolutely love Azumanga Daioh. Read the entire manga at least three times and seen the anime twice.

 

Only other manga I've read more than once are Jing: King of Bandits (Which I have an itch to read it again) and Love Hina.

 

Never seen either anime though except one DVD of each. I have the Seventh Heaven episodes of Jing and I've seen the Summer Movie for Love Hina.

A lot of anime does the whole still shots with moving backgrounds kind of stuff like Pokemon or using the same animation over and over again but keep in mind animation isn't everything. There are many other contributing factors to anime.

 

Some anime have amazing animations that will blow you away because they don't rely on still images and actually do full animations of everything. Body movement, scenery movement, everything.

 

Yes, I probably am trying too hard to get you to find some anime you like. But as a great anime lover I truly do believe what I said in the other thread: There's an anime for everyone. You just gotta find what you like.

I've noticed this. It seems like a lot of it's cheap animation compared to american cartoons. Where I think Japanese animation shines, though, is in the storytelling and emotion that you get out of the imagery and dialogue.

And I agree Apple Bloom, there's far more to anime than it's animation. It's like anything else really, just most anime don't focus on the animation.

"Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" was excellent! As was "Serial Experiment Lain" "Paranoia Agent" is very weird, but compelling to watch. I also like lighter things like "You're Under Arrest" and "Ouran High School Host Club" The live action Host Club is truly hysterical!

I finished watching Samurai 7 again, and now I am rewatching some of the Clamp anime series. Just finished with xxxHolic. Now I am watching Tsubasa, and after that probably X/1999.

I tried to read X/1999 but couldn't get into it.

 

I love CLAMP series' though. Chobits, Magic Knight Rayearth, Tsubasa and xxxHolic are some faves.

 

I haven't read MKR in forever. I hear the anime is completely different though.

 

Also, thinking back I also read the Escaflowne series and watched the anime around the same time I saw MKR.

I never tried Magical Knight Reyarth. I do like Chobits and Angelic Layer. I used to watch Cardcaptors when I was younger, but right now I have 2 of the manga, and 1 disk of the anime.

 

Clover is a really good manga. Too bad they never finished it.
