spoiler Starlight Glimmers role in the show to end S7?

Is it just me or did that preview seem to signal the end for starlight glimmers main role? Seems wierd considering she was basically the main character for season 6. 

 

The DVD special of her and twilight contained really only two episodes that were new. Which is the season premiere episodes. Does that lack of episode mean that was starlights only two episodes this season?

I see it as more of Starlight being given the chance to go out on her own without Twilight's guidance and make her own path in life. What she ends up doing is currently a mystery but perhaps we will find out sooner than we think. Then again, given what the synopsis for these two episodes are saying, she might not be ready to no longer receive Twilight's teachings.

I hoped she was going to be studying by Celestia, but I think she gets her own tree house castle, sweet Celestia.

 

I also hope she is going to life by Sunburst or Thorax and do research.

She didn't appear enough during season 6 to be a member of the mane cast, and was only considered a recurring character by the writers, let alone be the main character of the season.

In the mean time, enjoy the introductory episode that is essentially about her... "Main Character" xD haha, Starlight haters are the funniest hipster bronies in the fandom... what are you going to feign leaving because the writers are developing an awesome character? I wont be sad if we get less of her, but I certainly would love more... Starlight is great, but it is possible they are going to write her off in season 7, but I am hoping they dont exceed 8 or 9 seasons to begin with, you guys know what happens to shows with over saturated material.

 

NOTE: this doesnt mean I want the end of MLP.... but they are going to need a new platform and new centered characters. we will get cameos from our faves, and maybe it will be a "next generation" thing, but we cant have repeat plots and more reasons for nit picky bronies to complain

Doubt it. Just judging from synopses alone, Starlight will graduate in Celestial Advice with maybe a few hiccups along the way but nothing major yet. Then Bottled Up happens, causing Twilight to realize she's not ready yet.

It's probably means that she's going to be Twilight's friend and equal, rather than her student. I always thought of Season 6 as transition period for Starlight. She was a villain in Season 5, she was technically a main character in Season 6, but she only appeared 10 times. Maybe in Season 7, she'll truly be the "Mane 7th" by being friends with and interacting with ALL of the Mane 6 equally, WITHOUT overshadowing them too much.

If enough fans started loving Starlight after season 6, I doubt they'll just send Starlight into retirement like that.

 

But I do hope she at least gets some screen time in Season 7 that we don't already know about.

Judging from what she did in Season 6 and what she's about to do in Season 7, I highly doubt this is the case, if anything, I think that Twilight will step down as the main character and Starlight will become the new one, yes I know that Twilight had her moments in the show but good things don't last forever and sometimes change need to happen.

They had a perfectly deep and reasonable villain after they screwed up on sunset (though in hindsight I'm glad she reformed) and just whisked the Sirens aside. ...

 

Someone who had reason to hate..reason to try and kill like in the season opener..the we got her backstory and we finally addressed the awful awful truth about cutie marks. For every 1 that it brings happiness too it destroys someone potentially.

 

That is a good story. 

 

They had this perfect villain in their sights and then they turned the rifle around and shot backwards >_<

 

She's now just another ho hum ideal that says everyone is good in the end. :/

well i feel like some people just like her more as a villain, but dont want to accept the fact that she changed and she has her own character quirks that makes her different... not everyone is good in the end... and the theme of the show is about friendship and with that self righteousness is not on the same key.. friendship is about trust and development, etc... look at Tirek, Sombra, Chrysalis, they have actual evil characters, not characters with alternative reasons for thinking the way they did, that actively seeked change, characters that are absolutely evil, with and by the sword.

 

note: (could relate to real life in some ways.... wanting to see someone as a bad guy, doesnt make them a bad guy, if anything it means you have a desire for there to be bad in the world and not good) now for the sake of the show of course we want a good villain, but Starlight isnt a villain, she was an anti hero that didnt recognize the flaws in her previous philosophy.

Except for Best Night Ever (S1 E26), every season opener & every season closer has introduced major developments and/or new characters. I've read Starlight lost the Cutie Mark Map (not sure how that's possible, but I saw it on YouTube, it must be true  ).  Maybe they'll both go.

I say, still have her in S7, she was Twilight's first student. Maybe have her still live in the castle from time to time.

Lol, she didn't even speak in Spice Up Your Life or Top Bolt but other than that, I'll admit, this season's musical and Every Little Thing She Does and the finale went to her. She seems to be playing a significant in the upcoming All Bottled Up but if she is to appear in the Movie, she cannot simply be written off although she does play a role, it is most likely that she will be incapacitated by the Storm King or whoever/put out of focus since the Mane 6 are travelling beyond Equestria.

Not sure what the show holds for Scarlet Witch.... I mean, Starlight. But I think it's good she starts by being more independent from Twi, as I think she has potential, but was overshadowed by the Mane6 last season

Funny enough, I feel her potential was limited due to her lack of interaction with the Mane 6 last season.

If it wasn't just Twilight teaching her friendship lessons, but the rest of the mane 6 also did so and had unique interactions with Starlight, and worked to become friends with her, than I would have liked Starlight a bit more.
