Late night munchies

Does anyone ever get the urge to snack close to midnight? Maybe youate dinner too early, or just want o eat out of boredom or stress. It stinks, because your teeth are already brushed, and eating would only keep you up more, and then you'll probably not want to eat breakfast..its just a mess.

You read my mind! It always hits me late at night. Sometimes I'm not even hungry. Like you said, it could be stress, eating schedule or sometimes I'm watching a really good show or movie and that always makes me want to eat just to heighten the enjoyment of it. I always have an excuse ready for why it's okay 'just this once' but it's not really okay because eating late at night before I go back to sleep means all those calories are going to go straight to my waistline. 

Sometimes if I brush my teeth early I think it'll discourage me from snacking, but it doesn't. Oh well, looks like a few extra minutes on the elliptical machine to work it off. How sad it is. :pout:

Yes midnight snacks are a must when getting the midnight munchies :)

I am guilty of being a midnight snacker myself. I think its because I tend to work late into the night thanks to my oh so wonderful job that loves trying to take off or make a cup of tea at 2 in the morning. So I am mostly probably eating because due to mix of stress and trying to stay awake. But I will say pizza  or leftovers makes for a great midnight snack.

Not only that, I get the urge to do EVERYTHING at midnight. It's usually eating, though.

Yeah, I do that to. Whenever it's already late at night, I tend to eat a sandwich, or even some junk foods, like potato chips,etc.

I often did go out midnight and later in high school with what little pocket money I had to get burritos from Del Taco a few times a week when I could. However, since college i've almost always had ready to make food available at home so its easy enough to just make whatever I want at home that doesnt take extra ingredients or a long cooking time. If im really lazy i'll just buy a chex mix or cheez it or chips or something to eat while at the computer when im feeling hungry.

Basically I try and manage my expenses by not eating out more than twice a week which in general is better for your health too.

Happens to me all the time right before I am going to sleep. I tend to have something small, like some pop-tarts or a bit of cereal to munch on, works wonders for that. :3 Pop-tarts are a surprisingly good snack.

As someone that struggles with binge eating I face this urge a lot. What I have found is high protein in the evening really helps with that.

I like midnight snaking. I prefer the informal, grab-and-go approach to eating rather than sitting down to dinner and having to wash dishes. Give me paper plates and a frozen pizza, or something I can nuke in the microwave and we're good to go.

There could always be exception to this, but normally I don't eat anything anymore after I brushed my teeth which I normally do around 9-10 PM (working day). When I was a teenager I did this too a lot actually, but at some points I grew out of this midnight snacking stuff at least in general

I’ve been snacking out of control lately, and mostly at night when it really piles onto my waistline. I’ll get in under control eventually but right now I’m eating for two so I have an excuse (and I’m going to excuse it for as long as I can!)

It's actually rare that I get late night cravings; however, I use to get cravings for a milkshake a couple hours after dinner.

Heh, can't do that anymore since I'm doing intermittent fasting w/ ketovore diet.
