I also will win, because we have another Coloratura episode. Waiting so long on this. :pinkie:

Depends on if Lena is up for it I guess though - and how much she would charge :D

Who isn't up for a Rara cameo or episode. :orly:

I think it may be more down to her agent. The React video she did for the eps was good, although her child seemed less impressed :D

(but yeah, I would love to see more Rara in the show; Just a Pony has to be in my top 5 MLP songs, ever :) )

It is my favourite song in MLP. Just hoped they would make a CD with more of this kind of music. :)

I agree - Wiki says it's on the pinkie pie CD, but a CD of just Rara hits would be awesome :)

I think Stranger than Fanfiction is a good example of why this isn't unreasonable. Different people like or hate different things about MLP, and that's fine.

Nope, it's just my opinion, nothing wrong about it. Stranger Than Fan Fiction and Top Bolt were just plain insufferable. I could care less about Dungeons and Discords and Buckball Season.

I hated Applejacks Day off and 28 pranks later, I was disappointed by Newbie Dash.

I really enjoyed Stranger than Fan fiction,

I like Top Bolt a lot.

Buckball season was a good little episode

Dungeons and Discords is top 5 of the season.

Season 6 was incredibly weak, Starlight didn't get enough development in my opinion, and I wish she'd have tried to bond with the remane 5 a bit more.

It really bothers me that she didn't go to Rainbows first Wonderbolt show.

It especially bothers me how she only appeared in episodes revolving around solely her. If they want the viewers to accept her as part of the main cast, let her partake in their everyday activities so she can gradually slip into the role.

And that's THEIR problem, not for those who embrace Starlight's continuous presence in the show. Besides, she needn't appear in every episode of season six, but show her doing something like studying or hanging out with Twilight and the rest here and there.

Then so be it. Starlight is part of the show and they just need to accept that.

I've said this before, there is a risk with letting her be too involved with the main cast. Most noteably would be her exclusion from the movie. If she made to feel like a main character, she will be expected to be involved in their lives especially a big event like the film. It may not have helped her standing as a character with viewers but what could you do but make her feel like her own character apart from the main cast so she can comfortably slip out of their major stories and into the background.

I find it interesting you pointed out the story editor. I don't really have a problem with Josh Haber as a writer, but season seven has been so much better under Kristine Songco and Joanna Lewis, I'm really glad he's no longer story editor.

Edit: Also, Dave Polsky has been a writer since season one, and Haber started in season four. Is Haber still a writer? He hasn't had an episode yet this season.

Yeah, despite similar circumstances(teams almost entirely consisting of new writers), it's pretty staggering how much different and better S7 is so far.

Honestly, when you really think about it, it really does feel like, apart from pushing Starlight to High Heavans, S6 cared more about dumb gimmicks and tropes above all else, rather than moving characters forward, with mixed results at best. The premiere was the Destructive new baby episode(which S7 did better), then the "Gift of the Magi" episode, No Second Prances seemed to rely entirely on Trixie returning for it's hype but everything else turned out poorly. Newbie Dash is probably the most important episode outside of the Starlight episodes, yet, right at the very beginning it was clear how little they gave a shit with how anticlimactic the news dropped(and again, S7 did this better via Dash's parent's reactions), then spent the majority of the episode on that stupid impressions joke. After that the Christmas Carol episode(which S4 did better), the "Day Off but not really" episode, "the deadbeat", the "Adults Take Over", "Fucking Zombies", the "Rashamon" episode(which MA Larson had always wanted to avoid due to it being so overused), and the "someone gets unlikely heroes to save the main characters" episode(which plenty of shows, including Transformers Animated did a lot better). And lets not forget about "Explore Equestria" which spent most of the time in Manehattan or places we've been to plenty of times. The only new things we got to see were more of the Dragon/Badlands and Las Pegasus

I mean that's not to say not every gimmick episode sucked, as the ones that worked worked very well, Saddle Row Review, Stranger Than Fanfiction and Dungeons and Discords are great examples of great episodes centered around said gimmick

Another thing about S6 that it did better were the map episodes, pretty much all of them blew Made in Manehattan and Hoofields and McColts out of the water, while Viva Las Pegasus and Top Bolt are up there with Griffonstone as some of the show's best

But then you get to S7 and really feels like the season to try new things, build the world, and the season the show needed going forward. We start out with an episode where Celestia finally gets to shine, then it feels like they finally know what to do with Starlight, Flurry Heart is given some actual character, Maud advances in her life, Fluttershy moves forward with her sanctuary, then we see the CMC growing up and moving forward along with their relationships with their sisters, RD's Parents, her family life, and what makes her tick, the Royal Sisters relationship and realizing it's not perfect but they do do what they can to help each other, the Ponies improving their relationships with the Yaks(seriously this episode was better than it had any right to), we see how truly important Fluttershy and Discord's relationship is to each other, and the answer regarding the Apple Parents is finally revealed in one of the most beautiful episodes the show has put out. And this is just the first half, later we'll be seeing more of Equestria's "Legends", not to mention, the show actually following through with the family theme, with Rock Solid Friendship, Forever Filly, Parental Glideance, A Royal Problem and The Perfect Pear delivering and then some, and with more to come(Once Upon A Zeppelin)

Despite having tons of more new writers, it does feel like the Lady Writers care a lot more about the characters and what goes into the show, and are putting more of an effort building the world than Josh ever did

I was tortured by that kind of thought during S6 and a few month after.

I loved stranger than fan fiction, though it didn't feel much like an episode of my little pony.

Just like Slice of Life, that ep is just too meta. And i like both of them.

The Rashamon episode? Which one is that?

I agree with you here on many points, except for Newbie Dash. If they stretched the news out, it would become really boring to watch. They handled that pretty well.

To me, while season 6 is by no means a bad season, it is my least favorite of the series simply for not really doing much to keep my interest. With a handful of exceptions, most of the eps seemed to leave little impact on me and largely appeared to play it safe. This most likely stems from Josh Haber being the story editor for that season; not that he's a bad writer, but his work on the show to me typically seems to do little more than hit the necessary beats in a competent enough manner. This works in instances like Friendship Games where the idea is already interesting by default, but when it isn't they typically end up being eps I only see once and don't see much reason to revisit. It's serviceable, yes, but wouldn't you much rather see something with more imagination and thoughtfulness put into it?

IMO this air pretty much lingered over most of the season, even though there wasn't really anything in it I could consider horrible. Apart from Starlight Glimmer (who, even then, I think could've been used better, since she really didn't appear very much in the middle) and eps like "Gauntlet of Fire" and "Saddle Row Review", not much new ground seemed to be broken. Meanwhile, season 7A has brought us two actually interesting Celestia appearances and both of the previously unseen sets of parents.

Again, I don't think season 6 wasn't without its high points, but the thing for me is that it did not seem to really push things as far as the other seasons did (barring maybe the first one, but even that's more excusable in such regards), making it more lackluster and lukewarm. It was enough to lead me to lose a lot of my interest in the show for a period of time, only really regaining my love a couple months ago.

Because, just like Season 5, 6 and 7, they set up an interesting premise at the start and

DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WITH IT

And maybe something about Starlight Glimmer have the most rushed redemption arc ever - something you can blame the end of Season 5 for, because that godawful song showed so many wonderful scenes that should've been episodes in their own right, but noooooooo
