I've got a few. Before MLP, it was Recess, Spongebob (before the first movie), Jimmy Neutron, Ed Edd and Eddy, and Penguins of Madagascar. RIght now, I have two other 'cartoons' that top MLP, those being Rick and Morty & Archer.

Growing up in the 90's there's a lot of shows that I really like more than MLP, and it would take too much time to list them here, but basically the 90's Nick and CN lineup in a nutshell.
As for cartoons I enjoy now that I like more than MLP (and I won't include Anime since that's a MUCH LONGER LIST), but the first one that comes to mind is BoJack Horseman. I am all about that, it's freakin' great.

I watch Spongebob while I fall asleep like 6-8 months out of the year. MLP maybe once a year run-through.

I used to watch so many great cartoon back in the day. I’m not sure I like them better than FIM, but I can tell you from the get go I don’t have any emotional attachment to any other than pastel horses

I would have to say that only the following cartoons are on par or better than mlp: swat kats, Pinky and the Brain and the real adventures of Jonny quest. I grew up in the 1990s with cartoon network and I absolutely adore those cartoons.

Nothing tops MLP for me personally.
 

What set MLP apart for me was the awesome characters.  If it weren’t for the characters of MLP I probably either wouldn’t have watched it, or would’ve been just another cartoon to keep me entertained. 
 

It’s become more than something to just be nostalgic about like the other cartoons I watched as a kid.   Not to say those cartoons weren’t good cause they were but they don’t hold special value to me in the way MLP does.
