I don't think this dragon is Spike's father, but I would bet he knows who's Spike's parents are and where they are or what happened to them. Perhaps maybe he knows why Celestria took the Egg that contained Spike. And don't surprised if Celestria has a part in this as well.

I don't think he's a fake! I think that's his real dad! They can't fake Spike's family in here. That's just too harsh for his character to have. The quotes on "dad" probably means that he was never there for him, he was never the fatherly figure that he needed before, either that or maybe his family isn't the family Spike was hoping for. But they're not fakes!

Sulfur: (smiles and grabs Spike the same way Torch grabbed Ember and holds him in his palm) I thought I would never see you again. How you've grown!

Spike: (confused) Wha....who....when did we meet!? who are you?!

Sulfur: (Smiles proudly) Well, I'm not surprised you don't know me, you were still an egg. (Shouts in the air proudly) I am Sulfur! Son of Brimstone II, mate of Alabasta...(calmly says to Spike) And your father.

This episode sounds a tad yawn inducing, gotta be honest. Unless this actually turns out to be a case of him actually being his real father. Even then, it will probably be a case of him being a total dick or someone unlikable. I am going to keep pretty low expecations for this one. I know if I think of anything more for it, I will be disappointed.

During the S5 finale while Twilight and Spike were preventing Starlight from messing with the Rainboom, I as Unicorn Will Guide, secretly went on my own time-travel quest. I met Spike's very kind dragon parents who were dying, meaning Spike's egg would have perished had they not given the egg to me, who would give to Celestia before Filly Twilight's entrance exam. And the rest would be history.

But in the show's canon, I do genuinely want to know what will be revealed in the episode, even if I won't like what we'll see.

I'm almost certain they're not gonna fake daddy in this episode! People have been waiting for this episode for the entire series! If the writers fake Spike's parents, that would be an insult to both Spike's character and a big middle finger for thise that have been waiting so long for this!

I got the feeling it's gonna be just as heartwarming as The Perfect Pear!

I suppose you have a point. Maybe I am just looking at it in the wrong way. If it even comes close to Perfect Pear or Parental Glideance, then I will be happy. As long as they don't give it to a totally new writer as their first episode.

Oh. Well I wouldn't want his parents to be passed on especially before he met him. But hey it's your fanfic. My fanfic says Scorpan was the one who found Spike's egg, which I really want to come true! We're all pretty passionate when it comes to our fanfics!

I think Celestia got the egg from the mother herself. I hope this episode confirms that idea.

I want to believe Scorpan brought the egg, but I think Scorpan never returned to Equestria. We also don't know if he is even still alife at this point.

It would seem like a wasted opportunity to at least not have a story about Scorpan and Tirek reuniting! It's like the ultimate friendship lesson, and it's also something the Mane Six have done before! In fact, their very first friendship lesson was to defeat Nightmare Moon and reunite Celestia and Luna! Scorpan and Tirek is just like that, only more difficult cause Tirek isn't possessed! If Scorpan wasn't the one that brought Spike's egg then fine, but they should really do a Scorpan/Tirek reunion story!

Scorpan was originally gonna be in the MLP Movie, as the original owner of the Storm King's staff, but they cut that out, so they're probably saving him! Let's hope I'm right about this!

Actually, Scorpan finding Spike's egg is not a bad idea. I'll put my bet on that and we'll see in about 6 months.

I can always write how I saw his egg came to be as fan fiction alterative universe.

 I mean come on, Spike has NEVER seen Twilight as a parent, and never will. Even said..

 

Having Spike call Twilight "Mommy" or "Mom" would be an insult to his character, he is not needy. Sure he see's Twilight as family but he see's ALL ponies as family. I can tell, that he would prefer a father and a mother that isn't a teenager(Cough Twilight couch) he is FAR above that, seeing Spike call Twilight mom would be..well humiliating for the poor guy. And its clear that he see's this dragon as a true patriarchal figure, as he is willing to give up his Pony culture to be a "real" dragon.
