Very depressing that the Discord remix, which is inferior to the original to me, is the only one that's been posted. For those who listened to it, you really should listen to the original. Here's my personal thoughts on why the original is better, for reference, too <3

 

Incoming Opinion </3

 

Why the original is better

-Discord's epic laughs. The remix doesn't have these.

-Catchy tempo and good pace. The remix is incredibly fast paced, and works well as a dance remix, but really takes away from the original's intense, climactic feel.

-Build-up. From the intro with the laughs, to the laughs and music that provide transitions at key points, to the chorus itself when it gains it's next verse in the second chorus, the entire song get's more epic as it goes along because it builds on itself constantly. The remix has little to no build up, as it's all just the same general chorus combined into one for the sake of the remix.

-Voice is full of emotion, which is really brought out well when it's needed, especially in the chorus. In the remix the voice is changed to match the techno theme, and is sped up. It looses that power and emotion a bit, because of it.

 

The remix is very good. The Living Tombstone is amazing and I love what he did with the remix. But to me the original is better, and it never ceases to sadden me at how much more love and general attention the remix seems to get almost unconditionally <3

Hah, that "Cupcakes" song is pretty clever. I don't understand the Nightcore remix of Sweet Apple Acres, though. It doesn't sound like a remix; it just sounds like someone increased the tempo in audacity :/ .

 

Also, if you want more "Cupcakes" related music, check out Tarby's opus, "Something Broke: The Continuing Tale of Pinkie Pie and Ponycide".

 

 

That original version is good, but I'm REALLY looking forward to the remake and sequel, which have vastly improved production values.

I agree. I mean, I like the Living Tombstone's remix, but it can't hold a candle to the original. It lacks the variety and distinct discorded-ness of the ponybeat track. Also, not nearly enough accordion.

 

And yes, I did already post Loyalty, hah. :lol:

Oh, man, yeah, I love Daddy Discord as well; that's probably my favorite PMV from the brony community, although I do find the following to be unbearably catchy and hard to get out of your head! I love it! :D

I'm pretty sure this topic is for songs made for MLP, like, the original songs made by brony artists dude ^^ That's a PMV with a non-pony song added to it.
