Which episodes of a television (animation and live-action) show do you think are not just the best of their respective shows, but the best in the history of television?

Some of mine are:

  • Buffy The Vampire Slayer - "The Body" (S5:E16)
  • Justice League - "The Terror Beyond" (S2:E15-16)
  • Steven Universe - "The Question" (S5:E21)
  • Ducktales '17 - The Last Crash of The Sunchaser (S1:E23)

1. The adventures of Sonic the (Episode 25)

2. Sonic X (I forgot the one where he turns dark)

(Yes, I still enjoy them.):-D

I never go into Adventures as I enjoyed Sonic SatAM more. For that series, I would say Blast to the Past or Doomsday.

Did you watch Sonic X in English or Japanese? In Japanese, episode 77 (very sad episode).

Babylon 5 - Sleeping In Light

Batman TAS - Heart of Ice (won an academy award)

MLP - Perfect Pear

Black Mirror - S3E3: Shut Up and Dance (and a bunch of other episodes).

Doctor Who (the new one) - an innumerable amount of episodes, but I'll just name my favorite ones: S3E10: Blink, S4E11: Turn Left, S9E11: Heaven Sent.

Steven Universe - S4E6: Last One Out of Beach City - that is if I had to pick just one, overall this show has great story arcs that span multiple episodes and even seasons.

Adventure Time - S6E12: Jake the Brick, series finale: Come Along With Me (*sighs*).

MLP - S5E12: Amending Fences (I'm obviousy biased here).

That’s cool. I tried watched it in the original Japanese before it was aired on TV here. Unfortunately 4Kids butchered the show IMO. How far into it are you?

Of all of the TV series I watched, Sherlock is hands down has the best written episodes. Every episodes is ingeniously well-written.

Another go at it:

Rick and Morty- "The Ricklantis Mix-Up", "Meeseeks and Destroy"

Steven Universe- "Jail Break", "Mindful Education", "A Single Pale Rose", "The Answer" (Hard to keep it to four, the writing in Steven Universe is phenomenal. Well, starting around Season 2. Before that it was a train wreck, I must admit.)

"The Inner Light" - Star Trek TNG

That's my choice too. "The Inner Light" is beautifully written. This episode transcends any Trek episode before or after.

It always brings tears to my eyes.

Spoiler

A whole lifetime of memories. What an incredible gift. A whole race of beings, all they wanted was someone to remember them.
