I've seen a lot of threads around about bad films (and I've yet to see one for listing the best in film history), but what do you think are among the BEST films of all time and, if you want to, why?

Well, my list would include:

  • The Big Lebowski
  • Back to the Future
  • Toy Story
  • Star Trek II: the Wrath of Khan
  • Jurassic Park
  • Finding Nemo

Though I don't think I could get enough into detail about why. :sealed: I will say that I'm a pretty big fan of sci-fi and Pixar, but I've also started to like movies done by the Coen brothers (like Big Lebowski).

Star wars (minus force awaken and the last Jedi) And most of them all....Harry Potter (1-7). I'm a huge "nerd" when it comes to HP. There is no other movies quite like this and the wizarding world is just hands down unique. Love 'em since childhood till now. I'd watched each ones again every time just before a new movie comes. And still do for the fantastic beasts.

To add to what I've posted in the OP since I've seen some more extensive lists:

  • No Country for Old Men
  • Toy Story 2 and 3 (Haven't seen 4 yet, though I'll consider mentioning it to my BF so we can watch it together in theaters!).
  • Star Trek VI: the Undiscovered Country
  • The Incredibles (first one)
  • Inside Out
  • Pitch Perfect (1, though 2 is also good. The first is just a modern comedy classic IMO.)
  • Kill Bill (both movies)
  • Spirited Away
  • Gran Torino (Recently, it's become a favorite)

Probably among others.

Madoka Magica movies. Sweet sweet (spoiler warning)

Spoiler

Trope subversion. Psychological thriller. Convolutedly complex plot. Psychedelic art. Ground hogs day theme. Existential themes.

 Yum yum.

I also loved the Robert Downey Jr Sherlocke Holmes movies and The Matrix.

Movies that encourage thought.

Jacob's Ladder was neat also. (apparently it inspired Silent Hill)

Give me recommendations! I need more to watch I'm too picky!

What evidence could be for a god? Because, if god can do anything, surely a lesser being relative to god, could still trick humans without fail if they wanted to. Which means, a being that appears to be god, may not be god. So even if god showed up in person doing anything and everything, for all you know it could be a demon casting illusions or your brain plugged into the matrix. Just because it claims to be a god, does not mean it is. Thus, there is never evidence enough for a god. Which means you cannot have an accurate reason for believing in god.
