I chose mine because I was thinking about doing this AWESOME creepy past video prank, stage my death in a bunch of local newspapers etc. But then I realized that I needed an original name. So, I picked Gamey Geemer because it popped into my head and sounded really catchey

My username have always been GeneralDino. My Himalayan cats name was Dino after the musician. Unfortunately he passed away in March of 2012. He was and always will be a favorite of mine, and as my right hand man/cat, he was appointed to general. Soon I required a username for various things because I had just discovered the internet. Now I use it for only non pony usernames. After Dino's  death I shortly became a brony and got into the gist of things. This includes writing fanfics which none i have finished but was focusing on one until my iPhone which contained all my work died and currently do not have a way to get the information off of. I know how, just don't have the means to get it out yet. Anyways, in the beginning i was terrible at coming up with names for ponies. now I'm not all that bad. So the name for the main character was SharpWit. You may take notice that that is my current username. That's because I stole it from my now nameless character. That's my story

I've seen this kind of thread on other forums before, so I thought why not ask it here?

 

I got my username about 11 years ago back in the good ol' days of Starcraft. When lag was high, and Koreans who eliminate you in 3 minutes were low . I just danced my fingers across the right hand side of the keyboard, and this just happened to be the result. I liked it so it's stuck with me ever since Plus Klopp is kind of an appropriate name for a pony dontcha think?

 

So where did you guys get your usernames from? Obviously some of you picked ponies from the series, but if you did, why did you pick that pony?

I chose Twilight Sniper as a username because:

1. Twilight Sparkle is my favorite pony.

2. My favorite characters in shooters end up being snipers. Like the TF2 Sniper, or Mordecai (Borderlands), and also McMillan (only seen sniping, Call of Duty), not Jun (Halo Reach) though I don't like his character as much as the other three (if Emile was the sniper, that would be a different story).This specific sniper reference is mainly homage to the TF2 Sniper.

3. I like guns. A LOT. However, battle rifles more in particular.

My current username, Frith is Magik, was not particularly inspired. When I joined the forum I didn't have much of an online presence, which meant no previous usernames to take inspiration from. I didn't want to use my gamertag, thus the brainstorming began. I considered a few different sources of inspiration, but nothing from a single source stood out, so I combined ideas.

 

Friþ is a word with Germanic and Scandinavian roots. The concept no longer exists in modern English, but is sometimes used in the Asatru community. It essentially refers to peace, stability, and social relationships. It can refer to mere allies or to the bond shared with close friends. Magic generally refers to stage magic, Hollywood special effects, or events that cannot be explained. Magik (sometimes spelled magick) is a spelling used mainly in the Pagan community to distinguish spells and rituals from smoke-and-mirrors magic. Frith is Magik is essentially just "Friendship is Magic" written in a way that pays homage to my personal path. It isn't the most subtle piece of wordplay, but it sums up multiple ideas nicely.
