Okay and thank you for letting me know. I know Dynamo will freak out as he would have watched the show on TV if TV's are canon in Equestria. If not, then there might be a way that he'll know about Speed Racer. Also, I'm going to wait until Pastel makes a response. I didn't want to go on ahead without her in a time skip to when they get to the starting line.

I see no reason why TV's shouldn't exist in Equestria. Considering how arcade cabinets and big, electronic, Time Square-esque signs exist as well, I think it's safe to say that Equestria is set in a time similar to about the 80's, give or take. The average pony might not desire owning a TV set, but the technology is clearly there.

And even if anyone makes a reference to something that happened in the 90's all the way to now, I'm okay with it. I prefer it be a ponified reference, like Trot Trot Revolution instead of Dance Dance Revolution. But you know, I'm so laid back that I don't even sweat the little details that much. :proud:

Do you mean the Mario Kart artwork? If so, then thank you, but I didn't make that drawing. Although, that was the kind of idea of the drawing I had commissioned from Lord Valtasar from the forums. :)

Oh, wait. I was confused. I didn't know you meant a different drawing. That's my bad. I'm sorry about that.

No, it's okay. I also made a mistake as well

@Astral Vision, @Dynamo Pad, @ExplosionMare, @Kronos the Revenant, @Pastel Heart

BTW, feel free to use as many nameless, NPC racers as you like. I just threw in a triple-set of construction-based racers, but feel free to add whatever you like. Or not.

We're all just playing this race by ear right now. I've never done a race in an RP before. Makes me wish I had drawn a map of the town, at least. :adorkable:

@Samurai Equine

I was just wondering something involving the power ups that could be used. You said that we could affect the carts indirectly, but not the racers directly. What if Dynamo made a bunch of fireballs and threw them down the track that flew in random directions? Would that still count as indirectly as he didn't throw them at a specific target?

@Samurai Equine about what Kronos did in the race. Did he break the rules?

All he did was drop a big slab, he didn't throw it at a specific racer or anything, so it's allowed.

Though, he might have been hoping to take out Samurai's kart with that move. I don't know for sure. You may have to ask @Kronos the Revenant himself. :) In the story, he is suppose to be trying to sabotage Samurai Equine's chance of winning, and he might just genuinely break the rules if he believes it will do the trick. I don't know what his character is planning right now.

I'd say, in that case, you SHOULD be fine. But just in case, if I were in your place, I might honk my kart's horn and give racers ahead a bit of a warning. If they don't head the warning, it's on them.
Likewise, fireballs and other similar power-up/attack will operate like it does most of the time in games. They won't be allowed to be indefinite. So if the fireball never hits anything after a while, it just naturally goes out.

Still, as long as you specify in your message that the fireballs are being aimed in RANDOM DIRECTIONS, an EMPTY PATH ahead of you, or at a RANDOM OBJECT/OBSTACLE, you should be fine. Like it was mentioned before, judges have hidden cameras everywhere. They'll be able to see angles of trajectory, the look on your face, and anything else that would give away if you're attacking a racer on purpose or not. :BrightMacContent:

Okay and thanks for letting me know. I think that works on giving the other racer's ahead or behind a warning. If they don't listen, then it's on them. I was thinking of maybe throwing fireballs at the guard rail and then they ricochet and bounce around randomly. Either that, or launch ice magic to cause some of the track to freeze. If the racer drives past it, then they might slip and slide. That way, it's not aiming directly at the other racer's and they'll bounce with a mind of their own like in the game. I didn't want to anything to happen that would get Dynamo and Pastel disqualified for no reason. I was hoping the race would help Dynamo to explore his magic a little bit more.

@Kronos the Revenant

Just for clarification before I give my next reply...

Quote

He lit them up and they managed to boost him closer to Samurai. He was moving fast enough to knock him aside.

Was that kart-to-kart contact, like an actual attempt to knock Samurai out of the way or out of the race? Because if it was a direct attack, it'd be against the race rules, and Kronos would be disqualified. Sideswipes are too direct in this race.

Of course, I also know what Kronos is hired to do, so if he's purposely ignoring the rules then I get it. I just wanted some clarification. :)

I've returned. Where are we at?

Well, there is a cart race event, a colt in a hospital bed, and possibly the arrival of a new antagonist.

I had a plan to add one of @Writer Rhyme's new OC (I got his permission). She is an earth pony, and a gamer. Unfortunately, her design is yet to be done. Her name is Keen Fan

A fellow gamer, huh? Well, that would be pretty cool. I could see Keen working alongside Dynamo and Pastel in the arcade if she's looking for a place to work.

Im just saying he was moving fast enough to do so, however he’s not actually doing it. If anything, he’s just trying to get ahead of Samurai and i just described it that way as a possible warning for what your next actions may be.
