Anyone in school right now is probably experiencing some level of confusion, whether it’s dealing with online school or social distancing rules in actual school buildings. Whatever it is, it’s probably stressful, so that’s why I created this thread to talk about it.

So, for those of you in school during 2020, how has it been for you so far? Are you stressed, anxious, or scared? Are you actually excited or looking forward to something? Feel free to discuss it all here!

Might as well lay down a few rules before anyone starts:

- If you need homework help, there’s already a separate thread for that. Talking about, for example, how homework is different for you now is completely fine.

- If you want to vent, go ahead, but please do not discuss anything overly political or toxic. You are welcome to share your feelings, but let’s not start any fights!

- Obviously the virus will be a big discussion topic in this thread, but like the above rule says, nothing too political is allowed or anything that would start a big fight. Just be mindful of each other and everything should be fine :)

Now that all the rules are out of the way, feel free to share all your thoughts and experiences about the new year. It’ll definitely be different, but I believe in all of you! Good luck to all students this year!!

Well, I have two classes on campus this fall. The rest are remote/online. I actually did all my high school stuff online when I was younger, so online school isn't really new to me. lol I do prefer classes in person though. I'm mainly just annoyed because of all the rules there will be on campus, like specified entrances, exits, and traffic routes through buildings. I just find all that confusing. At least I get to show off my pony masks! :yay:

There should BE no school (well, no non-online school) in 2020, but thanks to the clowns that think that risking thousands of deaths is preferable to cancelling a semester of school... I guess there will be. :unamused:

I'm going back gradually from Tuesday next week. By gradually, I mean that for the first couple of days we're only in for a couple hours. The rules are extremely strict, they're making us wear masks, checking our temperature every two seconds, making us go in a certain entrance. :scoots: It's all really difficult and I personally think that it's stupid for schools to come back without at least doing it at home.  I'm so scared for my friends and family's safety and my own. :(

I'm already back in college, my classes started back on Monday, however all of my classes are completely online this semester  But I actually kinda like it, I don't have to waste all sorts of gas and money driving up to campus two days a week and I get to do all my class stuff surrounded by my Twilight Sparkle plushies so she never leaves my side! :adorkable: We'll have to see how this whole semester unfolds but I think it's going to be a good one :P

I'm a university student and I've got 2 classes on campus, the rest are online. I have a feeling we're going to be completely online in the next week or so because too many students don't care about masks and social distancing when they aren't in class. I'm just counting the days until a ton of students test positive. Really sucks.

Zoom is... interesting. None of my professors used it after we went online in the spring. The Wi-Fi in my university-owned apartment is usually really slow, can't even get it to work on my phone half the time, but somehow it works fine on my laptop so I can usually attend a Zoom meeting without much lag.

My school starts on Tuesday and I'm excited to see my friends:yay:

And high school classes start at 9:20 this year, so I don't have to wake up early and squeeze into packed af public transport. But I have a feeling that this whole thing with separating schedules, entrances and making asynchronous schedule for each class won't work out

My university is completely online. I don’t agree with this decision because some students (those in lab science or performing arts/music) will be getting a subpar education going through Zoom University. Those classes should have had in-person options at least...

Everything else seems to be okay online. I like that I can do my classes from anywhere and I’ll get to do some of my semester from Germany. I’m not a big fan of online learning myself, but so far my professors seem very accomodating and I like my classes so far. I’m studying international business, so the future of that will likely be remote anyway.

My school.classes is 100% online. It's convenient since I don't have to wake up early and physically go anywhere else.

I do miss the in-person interactions though ;~;

It's a little too early to judge if it will affect my learning at all, but so far I'm enjoying the change overall :P

Today was the first day in school and it was awesome:yay:

I finally met my friends and the tradition (last-grader carries first-grader with a bell around a crowd symbolizing the first bell for kids in the first grade) was still performed. Also we were told so many horrifying rumors about almost prison control in school, masks and gloves, etc. However everything was just as usual, masks are optional for everyone and no one really wears it, just arriving time was moved for every class that's all

To say that the school year was a mess is putting it lightly. It got too confusing, so I ended up having to drop out of my courses, so I'll have to repeat them in 2021. It was a shame too, since I was going to graduate this year.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

I am a senior in high school and the online classes are total bullshit though the plus side is not getting up at 6 in the morning.

I have to get up at 7:30 which is early for me :scoots:

They always make French class in the morning and I’m just not ready to conjugate verbs that early in the morning.

is zoom an exclusively American thing or something? i live in the UK and i've never had a zoom class, but my school is shite so that may be why

I guess it is but I really don’t know. I think it’s at least primarily an American site.

My school had an idea about maintaining classes schedule even during online school, so I had to get up early anyway

You reminded me of the first Eng classes in my school, the teacher freaks out as hell when someone is late. And it's hilarious until you're the one who's late

My English teacher told us that we have to submit our essays next week even if we’re on our deathbeds. This is like the 3rd time a teacher has mentioned homework and deathbeds as if people want to do school right before they die 🙄

Sounds like my teacher "You have no right to be late! It's not my problem if it's hurricane outside and you live on the other side of the city!"

I love how I would get in so much trouble for being one minute late but the teachers could be 10mins late and they never got in trouble or fired for it
