"They are that old, indeed. They seem to be fairly normal besides that, hmm." Maud shuffles around the side of them and then climbed ontop of one, looking down at Lilac from the top of the rock. "They are just really big, old boulders from a million years ago."

She pouts somewhat "Aaw, I was hoping they had something special about them" she'd say but then smile "Are you going to come swimming, miss Maud?" she'd ask as she went over to the swimming hole and jumped in.

Maud jumped off the rock and landed squarely next to Lilac, then looking at the swimming hole to see how deep it was. She was not one to swim really, but she would try. She took off her sort of clothing, revealing her cutie mark of a large cut stone to them.

Lilac looked to Maud "I like your Cutie Mark, miss Maud, it is very pretty like you" she says, swimming around.

Ripple would smile "I agree, though you I thought you were pretty from the moment I saw you"

"Thank you, you two." Maud spoke in reply before examining Ripple's cutie mark before slowly slipping in the water smoothly. She swam next to Lilac, making sure she wouldn't drown or do anything bad. Before soon enough she would sit at the shallow end, just holding Lilac in her arms, and petting her.

Ripple would swim around and look at Maud who was cuddling Lilac, she smiles over at them "Having a good time, you two?" she would ask.

Lilac nods "Miss Maud told me she can teach me more about rocks"

Mauad looked to Ripple and then back to Lilac. "Well tell me, what would you like to know? There is a lot to know so be more specific." Maud said, then looking to Ripple. She picked up a small stone. "This is a sedimentary rock."

"Sed..Sedi..Sedimentary?" Lilac would ask "That means..that means they are formed by..lots of minerals or or-organic materials on the surface of the earth, right?" she would ask, hoping that she was right.

"They are formed from silt and debris collecting on the surface of the bottom of a lake or an ocean. The pressusre gradually forms that debris into a solid structure, a sedimentary rock." Maud explains.

"O-oooh, cool" she'd say, not too perplexed that she was wrong "It's pretty" she says "Mommy told me once, that river pebbles are smooth because of the water rushing over them" she says "at least, I think that is what she said"

"That is indeed true. How else would they be smooth? It takes years for that to happen." she found a small round pebble and showed it to Lilac and Ripple there. "This is a good example of that."

Lilac smiled and giggled and Ripple swam over to them, sitting on the shore next to Maud, nuzzling her "See sweetie, I know something about rocks too" she says with a chuckle, running her hoof through Lilac's mane.

Maud nuzzled back and nodded. "I am glad that you do. Many ponies don't know that. But you do." she said to the both of them. She massages Ripple's legs when she sits down next to them firmly, yet softly.

"I do like to learn new things" Ripple would say, enjoying the leg massage "Mm, it's so good to be home" she would say in a relaxed tone, leaning into Maud a little "Mm, is there anything you'd like to do today, Maud, dear?"

Maud massaged her more, as she was leaned into and grins slightly. "Not sure. Just enjoy your company for now. You are a very...relaxing presence." Maud spoke even more calmly than last time.

Ripple smiles and nods "Mm well I am glad to hear that, you are a very calming presence as well" she'd reply and lean more into Maud's embrace "I don't think I've ever seen Lilac be this calm in ages" she smiles

Maud nodded and just observed Lilac as they spoke. "I am glad that my presence has that effect, it is good to see that she is very calm now. I suppose she wasn't before." Maud spoke, resting her head on Ripple's shoulder.

She smiles and nods "Lilac's usually pretty hyper-active, it's almost impossible to keep her still" she says with a chuckle, and hugs Lilac close to her before leaning over to kiss Maud "Well we'll be home for some time, digs are a rare thing these days, so we can be around Lilac here more"

Maud kisses back using her tongue slightly on Ripple's lips. "Sounds excellent. We have all the time in the world for rocks and digs. They will always be there." Maud said and patted Ripple's back as she looked to Lilac.

Ripple would smile and nod "Would you like to let your family know you're home safe and staying with us? I am sure they may be worried about you" she'd say "though I know Pinkie will see you at Lilac's party"

"I am going to do that soon. Maybe later I'll travel there and let them know whats going on. Maybe you can come with me." Maud suggested to her as she petted Lilac's mane and tail there.

"I would like that, I mean as we're together and all, your family should meet me and Lilac" she'd say, stretching some and smiling "Well, I'm getting kind of hungry, shall we go back to grab something to eat?"

"Sure. I am getting hungry too." Maud gently took Lilac out of her lap and walked out and shook herself off water flying everywhere. She shook herself dry and just took her coat with her as Ripple lead them back to the house.

As they arrived, Ripple would smile as she would ask what Maud wanted before going into the kitchen and making their food. Lilac would go to a small set of drawers, pulling out a coloring book and some crayons, taking them to the table.

Maud sat down onto the table and then watched as Lilac took her coloring supplies to the table. She looked at the empty paper there, wondering what she would draw before answering to Lilac, "How about rock soup?"
