Your darkest fears

Johny Farenheit

Recommended Posts

1. Spiders.

Ugh...I can feel my skin crawling just thinking about the little things. I don't even want to imagine about the big ones!

2. Being lost

I tend to hyperventilate whenever I have no idea where I am or how I'm going to get back to a familiar location. I got lost once while going camping with my family and I can tell you that to this day that is still one of the scariest moments of my life.

3. Diseases

To be more specific, those sickness you see on mystery diagnosis shows that masquerade as multiple common symptoms such as a sore throat or itchy skin yet can be fatal if not found in time.

3) I'm afraid of Wonderland. Yeah that whimsical Hellscape created by Lewis Carroll! I . . . kind of liked the Disney version, but when I look back on it, I never watched the ending more than once or twice. As soon as the Cheshire Cat appears at the trial and essentially dooms Alice to decapitation, I always popped out the VCR.

Now let's get one thing straight. I'm not talking about the post-modern concept of Wonderland being a metaphor for madness and the human psyche, no that kind of stuff fascinates me. What REALLY scares me is Wonderland as a real place. Whenever it's depicted as more than just the mane character losing it, I get freaked out.

2) Being alone. I mean in the romantic sense.

1) Let me get back to you on that.

If somebody asked me this question in real life, I would say "I fear nothing, because fear is illogical.". However, somepony is asking me this question, so I will be honest.

1. Faliure. I always try my best, and I always try to suceed where others have failed. Faliure is a possibility I constantly face, unless I make sure that I prepare for every eventuality.

2. Being lonely. It's one thing for me to enjoy spending time away from my 'family', but I feel more alone with them than I do when I actually am alone. A major fear of mine is that I'll live my life completely alone(Or worse yet, being surrounded by idiots forever), with no-one to love me.

3. Death. I know that death can happen to anyone at any time, and the few relatives I have that I actually like have died when I was younger. I fear that I'll die before I can convince my current girlfriend(?)'s parents to like me, before I can finish and upload the many fanfics and original fics I have on my laptop, before I can make something of myself, before I can do anything with my life, and before I can become such a huge internet star that memorobilia and paraphernalia auctions are held in my honour, generating so much money that I can become rich and famous.

But my biggest fear of all is that I'll turn out just like my parents. Old, ugly, married to someone they hate, too poor to afford a proper divorce, and with two useless children: A spoilt brat that they treat like a queen, and a nerdy, fat, seventeen-year-old basement-dweller(Or rather, his-own-bedroom-with-a-perpetually-locked door.) who goes to, and wastes time at, a school for the mentally disabled due to my parent's own idiocy,(They sent me, a closet ubermensch athiest and gamer and anime fan, to a very conservative Catholic school. He secretly likes ponies, and has hidden behind false masks for so long that he doesn't seem to know how to love anymore. If I ended up like that, I think death would be a mercy.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was akin to a slow death. 1- Spiders. Where i live there are only a couple of poisonous spiders, but these spiders are really sneaky, and almost always jump when you try to squish them and become more aggressive, not as aggressive as in Australia but they give me the shivers.

2-Heights. I may love rollercoasters but one thing i'm affraid the first time i see it is heights. Curiously after experiencing the long fall, i fell a lot better.

3-Dangerous Hoods. Yes, i'm affraid of them. I'm SCARED of them. I feel that everytime i walk on front of one of the houses, a person is going to walk out with a gun and kill me, then rob me, thus i'm also affraid of death, but as a minor fear.

Okay my top three fears include:

  1. Spiders- They are scary looking and plus they could be poisonous! And I just don't like all the creepy legs.
  2. Tim Burton- Don't get me wrong please. I hate and despise all of his movies. I think they are demonic and horrendous.
  3. Rain- Everypony may love it, but I hate it. You always get wet, or even poured on. And your hair gets so ruined!

Does anyone have the urge to just get closer to the edge when you're right at the edge of a high place? Heights isn't one of my fears but they still get the palms of my hands to sweat.

1) Jump scares: Even when I know they are coming, I'm still scared. I get UBER paranoid on YouTube videos, sometimes, and just have to check the comments... just in case.

2) Moths: These things are EVIL!!!!! They seem inclined to just bombard your face in the dark, while you flail about, screaming, fall out of bed in front of all your friends... yes, this happened...

3) The Unknown/Things I don't understand: I love knowing how things work, so if I don't know how something works, I get literally scared. It's weird, and hard to explain, but it's my top fear.

My fears are logical.

1. The dark. A little. Not because I fear monsters or some shit. I'm just afraid of running into stuff or falling and getting injured.

2. Fire. I don't like fire. It burns things.

3. Violence/Assault. It hurts people. This includes war, rape, torture, murder, etc.

I don't fear spiders or bees, I just avoid them so that I don't get bitten/stung. Almost all spiders are non-lethal and can't hurt you. Bees only sting as a last resort.

Sharks aren't scary at all. They hardly ever attack people. you SHOULD fear Box Jellyfish. They can kill you just by touching you, whether they're alive or not. And, in fact, a coconut falling on your head is more likely than a shark attack and coconuts kill WAY more people than sharks. Most shark attacks are non-lethal and result in minor injuries.

Heights aren't scary to me, because most places have walls or some sort of railing to keep you from falling.

If you watched the movie "IT" as a kid, you're gonna have a clown phobia. That's just psychological.

Death is inevitable, so I guess fearing it is kind of natural. It's good to fear death, because otherwise you'll lie down in the middle of the street or juggle knives because you're not afraid to die.

Fearing failure is just human nature. If used well, it helps us strive to be our best. otherwise, it causes stress and turns you into Twilight Sparkle in Lesson Zero

Also, Weeping Angels are freaky in an awesome way.

Don't hate another things just because you're scared of them.

They're just they, that's all. It's not wise to hate something.

My fears are more to a part of my self defense system. Like blade or sharp things. I guess I'm not scared of the blade, but whenever I see sharp things or blade, I always want to keep my eyes as far possible with it or slap the wielders hand. That's why my mom often complains to me because I rise my hand, ready to slap, whenever I see her carrying her knife while cooking.

Oh, I'm also very sensitive about eyes. *Shiver*

Just by imagining about something bad on it is enough to make me shiver.

  1. Any legitamatley scary creepypasta character- the creepypastas themselves describe exactly what strikes fear into my mind.

Any Japanese-style ghost (specifically pale white girls with long dark hair)- the thought of them able to appear around any corner of a dark room scares the hell outta me, and I can only describe it as a raw emotion that I find their looks to be creepy.

Natural disasters- there's nothing you can do to stop them. It's survival of the fittest, and you can't kill or damage the opponent.

1. Falling. Not heights, I've got no problems at all with heights, but the actual sensation of falling for an extended period of time. A long, long time ago when I was 6, I went on Space Mountain. It was the inaugural year for the ride in Florida (yep, that long ago. I'm old.) For 'safety' reasons they made me take my glasses off. So I went through the entire ride nearly blind, with random flashes of bright light and the car dropping out from under me. Ever since, I've had issues with the sensation of falling. To the point that a few years ago my wife asked me to ride with her on a roller coaster, and when I locked up during the ride I actually bent the restraining bar, and subsequently got banned from the fair.

2. The old Emergency Broadcast Signal. Not the current one, but the one they used through the 70's and 80's. During the height of the cold war, they really drilled the nuclear threat into the kids. It was all 'get to shelter' stuff but with the rider of 'but it won't do any good'. Because of that, my generation grew up thinking that hearing the EBS meant that in less than half an hour, all life on Earth would end.

3. Tornados. Don't know why on this one, but the one time I saw a funnel cloud in real life (1979) it terrified the snot out of me. It was this bizarre line in the sky, slowly wiggling across the landscape in this seemingly unnatural way. It took me a minute to figure out what it was, given that twisters are relatively rare in Ontario, but I was already scared of what I was seeing before it registered as to what it was. It was a long way away, but it just didn't belong there.

I don't know.

I get nervous on ladders, but not because I fear hights, or even falling. I just don't want the pain I feel on impact. Not that I fear pain--I'm fine with it--I just don't wish it upon myself.

I don't like public embarrassment, but I am fine with ridicule and people making fun of me.

I don't fear death. As a Christian I see it as a door I must go through to enter a better life.

I don't fear people, or weapons, or powers, because I know God has a plan for me.

Do I fear rejection? I don't honestly know. There is no time I ever remember being out-right rejected.

I have been pondering this now for half an hour, and I read through all the posts in this thread, and the only thing I can think of that might be a true fear is disappointing people. I guess I like to keep the status-quo, and a let-dow is a disruption of that.

Fibromyalgia. When I was younger I had a morbid conversation with my now ex girlfriend about what I'd rather have - a condition that will kill me but give me enough time to say my goodbyes, or a disability that will leave me unable to live a normal life. I chose death. I ended up with the disability. Talk about Irony. Not knowing if there's ever going to be an effective treatment in my lifetime, let alone a cure, scares the hell out of me.

Spiders. They scare the hell out of me to the point that I suffer from panic attacks. As I pretty much live in my bedroom 24/7 I don't see them very often. But when I try to give up smoking I can guarantee that a big one will crawl over me in the middle of the night, driving me back to smoking as it's my way of coping with stress.

Crowds of people. I suffer from social anxiety disorder and I'm prone to panic attacks. Thankfully I don't have to deal with it very often due to the Fibro.

1) Fire.  The thought of a house fire is terrifying to me.  It ruins all your stuff and causes the worst scars on your body.... if you survive. Ugh.

2) Being alone.  Not like alone at home for a while.... alone like forever without love.  I can't stand the thought of having to grow old without a spouse and kids and happiness and all that.

3) Making a mistake at work that causes awful bad things to happen  :(  MUST BE PERFECT

I just had too. I probably have the exact opposite. As in, if you were to give me a knife in a crowded area I would most likley kill someone. like an urge

Is that a mental desiese?

I'm not scared of knife. It just makes me more aware, and only physical knife, not picture. LOL.

No. That's not a mental disease. That's just a matter of self control, or I will prefer to call it mind discipline. If you give me five people which is legal-by-law to fight, I will fight them, seriously.

If you're interested in tips on how to heal it, stop thinking. Whenever that desire darted on your mind, just let it pass by and continue your life. When you hold a knife and the thought of "Stab that man" appears in your mind, just let it go, don't follow it, and everything is fine. I mean, why should you follow that desire? Me personally, just too lazy to follow that kind of desire to hit people and get confronted by law.
