What did you think of bronies before you became one yourself?

I knew about men who liked girly things before, so I didn't think much of it at all. I didn't realize how huge it was until a little later on, though, until finally I asked someone, quote: "What's up with this My Little Pony boom?"

A bit too overexcited about being a male who likes a girls show.

And very egotistical about it. Like that guy who claimed that Hasbro should be directing their products to bronies and not little girls because "bronies are the biggest market". By God they aren't. Parents of these children aren't ripping episodes of MLP off of Youtube or buying bootleg MLP plushies. Complaining about Celestia being too pink. It's a toy to be played with, not an anime display figure.

Also.. I got that kind of feeling because of this one music video where it was a MLP song.. but it was a video of some random guy in a grey hoodie. Like the deal is all about the coolness bronies.

1. Meh, another internet fad...

2. If they like watching it, I have no problem with it.

3. Wow...this community actually cares for each other.

4. Maybe I´ll watch just one episode.

5. Need more ponies!

6. I have been assimilated.

Well when I first heard about it I thought. 'Okay... I guess they could like that.....' Because my sister used to watch g3 (Horrible I know.) and my PC is near the TV so I sometimes look at it in between my loading in games.

Then I saw

So I then decided to see what's this all about and watch episode 1. Then 2.... Then 3...... You get the picture.

Very negative.

I thought it was stupid that men liked My Little Pony, and I had assumed it was like G3, and that they couldn't like it.

That's what I thought before I heard of the term Brony and that it was so popular, oh and good signature, The Offspring :0

I didn't even know what a brony was. A kid at my school was drawing a MLP character and so I checked it out and liked it instantly. It didn't bother me that it wasn't socially acceptable.

As far as I was concern, socially acceptable could suck my---... I didn't really care that it was for girls.

For me it's quite simple I had no idea Bronies or even the forth generation of ponies existed before I randomly stumbled across Magic.mov when checking to see if one of my youtube channels that i had subcribed to awhile back was still active. apearntly he had liked the video and it apeared on his feed. Wich was my first finding of something 4g pony related.

At the very beginning, I've never really heard of bronies until I've read about this show on Wikipedia and its popularity among male teens and adults. I thought they were crazy until I witnessed the show myself. Then on, I've been assimilated to one of them and I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the show's magic.

Well, I learned about MLP from a friend, and I pretty much became a brony myself almost immediately. I was too easy going to be disgusted.

When I first saw some of the memes on the memebase, I didn't really care. I though they were just a bunch of people trying to make fun of the show, and weren't taking it seriously. However, ever since the very beginning of season 2, people were going crazy. I saw it everywhere! :P So, I decided to check it out by watching Season 1 episode 1, and ever since I was hooked. Honestly, episode 1 and 2 of season 1 made me cry a bit.....

Honestly i didn't even know the brony community existed till a week after i started watching the show.

That being said i'm a open minded person, so after finding out more about the fandom i would've had a very positive opinion.

Before I was a brony I absolutely HATED bronies. you know, I did the whole hater routine.

insults, assumptions, you name it, I've done it. But it feels good to not only be a brony now but to defend them.

Anyways, I hated em'. They were like death to me. I mean, if i came across a chat group with bronies, I wuld flame them then leave. I wasn't so good around bronies during my hater stage.

Well, I saw the entire show before I even knew what a brony was. When I was beginning to disconver them, I didn't have the best view of them and I refused to say I was a brony. I didn't know WHAT was wrong with it, but I refused to accept it (DENIAL). Then.... I saw the video "Are you Proud to be a Brony?".... All I have to say is that THAT made me accept it. I then saw "Ballad of The Brony" And learned a LOT more. Now, I guess I'm a proud brony :P

I'm not sure if this is just because I live in the UK where this has not really become a big thing yet, but I had never herd of bronys till after a friend got me Into the show, then from reading the reddit I found out what they where.

I've never really been someone to hate other people just because they liked something anyways.

Because I'm not one to randomly watch videos on YouTube and also not visit any image boards like 4chan I had no idea about it. I might have seen a few small references like avatars around the internet but it didn't mean anything to me so I forgot about it.

It wasn't until I noticed one person in my class was getting teased about MLP that I first heard of it and was because of him I fell in love with the show and became a brony.

I honestly was neutral about Bronies when I first found out about them back then. I was curious in why people were all hyped in it, so I decided to watch the show. And I loved it.

Also I just realized I have been one for a year now. ^_^

Well at first i saw that one of the people that i subbed to on YouTube started uploading episodes of it. I didn't think much of it and just continued doing my normal routine. then one day my friend said he was a Brony, my basic reaction was "oh ok". so later i started watching the show and found out why everyone thinks its so awesome.

I was on the Escapist forums (I have since learned not to) and saw some people with MLP avatars. My thoughts on the matter were:

Then for some joke on that forum (what it was, I no longer remember) I wanted a video of a rimshot. I searched on YouTube and found one with Pinkie Pie on the first page. I thought that would be funny with all the bronies on the site, so I used it. Then a saw the links to the related videos. They were calling me. And...well...one thing lead to another. Before I knew it, I was in Kentucky.

:o

Wait, that last part was from another story.

EDIT: 100th reply? Cool!

I never really thought much about it. I knew one of my friends was a brony because he wore the shirt to school, I teased him a little bit but hats just because we are friends. But for the most part I just didn't really understand it, therefore i was neutral.
