To be honest, quite a bit for the better. Before I became a brony, I was a self loathing, antisocial teen with no real direction in life. My marks were failing and there was a lot of stress to be had at home what with my sister's drug problem and my family was rather poor.

Now I'm not going to lie here, for me things actually got better after becoming a brony. However it wasn't MLP itself that helped me, it was the fandom in general. You are all so accepting and mostly kind. I've made a few great friends from this fandom and with their help, I no longer loath myself, they've relieved a good portion of the stress I was feeling with their support. That same support and relief of stress has allowed me to excel at school, boosting me into the honours category. I now have somewhat of direction in life to follow as a result.

I'm still antisocial though and that's not really a problem. I prefer to avoid people. :P

Back on topic though, thank you all so much, and thank you to my close friends who helped me. You know who you are. You guys are all just so great. All of you!

I live a pretty much care-free lifestyle now, I try to be kind to everyone, I've also lost my drive for competitive sports (I dislike competitive sports). I've also become more accepting, yeah, a lot has changed.

It made me interested in drawing, sculpting, music composing and probably other form of arts int he future and I guess it made me realize what a show that isn't filled with capitalist or government propaganda might look like.I'm gonna keep watching mlp and learn sculpting somehow despite both activities being banned by the religious extremist group here.

I feel that I'm fighting an uphill battle to bring order to the violence filled place that I live in and the show made me realize that I have to be the one to do it, to ensure that future generations and children could have freedom of association and walk freely at any time of the day without the fear of being raped and killed. It made me realize the beauty of a safe society where children could pursue interest with their peers.

I might possibly be dying due to failing health but I hope that I could improve society and the living conditions of the people as much as possible before I die.

it's made me a much happier person, nowadays, I don't know what I would do first thing when I get home, when I switch on my computer monitor and go onto youtube, and watch whatever episode I feel like, or finish off that fanfiction I started reading :')

It's changed me for the better.I used to hate reading but now I can't get enough of it after reading my first fan fiction

I didn't have any sort of drive for art but I do now

I used to be a pretty mean person at times but you wouldn't catch me doing that anymore

Now I have a "hobby" I actually REALLY enjoy

Now I have something to turn to when i'm feeling sad

And like Death the Kid I used to have self loathing problems but now I see that side of me improving.

I'm not gonna lie. It hasn't really changed me that much. I mean, now I just like ponies. It has made me a happier person in general, but I mean nothing really big. Nothing like some of the crazy stories out there. I'm glad it has effected some of you guys so greatly, but I like my small little story. I just became a happier person, thats it xD

That alone could lead to a more positive lifestyle and change your perception of society so I wouldn't say that it's not a big thing, maybe you just haven't realized how much of a difference it made or it hasn't happened yet.

I guess you're right. I probably haven't realized how much of a difference it has made yet, like you said. I mean, I guess I'd just have to actually look back and compare today to the days before I watched MLP.

My family thinks I'm gay.

Other than that, I can say that my life changed for the better. I'm much more happy than before, and I now have something to do when babysitting my little sister: Watch MLP!

Honestly, I've changed quite a bit when I became a Brony. Overtime I've gained a far more positive look on life. I'm generally happier and far less volatile and angry. Most importantly, becoming a Brony gave me back something I had lost years ago. Hope. I eat better than I used to, I live a much more healthy life style than I used to.

Before I became a brony I was anti-social, cynical guy. Now I am... anti-social, cynical guy. Yeah, I guess my life hasn't changed at all. To be honest, I don't understand how watching MLP can change somebody's life. It's just a cartoon after all.

It honestly hasn't changed me. I came into this fandom fully expecting to enjoy the show and I kinda fit pretty well into the definition of a brony (not to say I'm sugary sweet or anything though) so as a person I haven't changed much other than the fact that every encounter with other people will change a person no matter how obstinate their personality.

Ever since I have become a Pegasister I have become a bit more kind toward people and caring. But other than that the only other change is that I spend way more time on the Internet now for the forums than I did before. Becoming a Pegasister has changed me a lot though ever since, but it has changed me in really good ways. :)

Before I was happy with my life and was relatively kind to people. Friendship has been very important to me for as long as I have know it. So, I didn't really have a drastic change or anything. :P

But I do still feel it has had an impact. Somehow, my perspective of things feels different. A show about ponies has become important to me. I didn't expect that.

And if a show about ponies can be awesome, just think of all of the other far-flung hopes and dreams and possibilities could become a reality...

The possibilities are like, endless.

:D

It's changed that way I think about people, weather they accept me for who I am or not. It better helps me see who to trust and who not to trust.

I feel happier, too. :)

The show has made me more outgoing, active, happier, and a better friend. I've also learned that society stereotypes us to keep us "locked" away in "borders" they like to set up for us, and when someone crosses that border, all controversy breaks loose. I've learned that it is good to break away from society if the cause is worthy, and without a doubt, this is a worthy cause.

Honestly?  It saved me from suicide.  I was quite depressed and ready to end it all, and then for some strange reason, I decided to watch MLP.  Instantly became enamored after watching a few episodes.

After that, I eventually started to love life again.  I'm much happier, much more light-hearted, much more caring towards my friends than I used to be, and just overall a better person.  While I'm not the paragon of "love and tolerance", I am glad I watched this show.

The show didn't change me as much as the community. The brony community is so amazing. I feel honored to be a part of such a wonderful group of gifted, thoughtful, gracious people, forming an almost familial bond (FYI, I DO consider you guys a second family, like the brothers and sisters I've never had) over a common interest like MLP.

I'll just put this here, posted it in another thread. Mind the mini-wall.

There's something just so...awe inspiring about the Brony/Pegasister community. The energy, the creativity, the collective spirit that everypony in our community creates is just so beautiful. I've been in fandoms before, but I've never experienced anything this beautiful, with this much power and interconnectedness.

When you're a brony, you're more than part of a community...you're part of a family. And I'm thankful everyday that I get to live in a time where I can share this passion with all you amazing people, and celebrate the universal truths that MLP teaches us - that friendship, love, tolerance, and togetherness are truly the most powerful forces in the universe.

Any time I face a challenge in my life, I'm going to carry something MLP-related with me. I already do - I always have my Spencer's brony belt on and have my keys with my brony lanyard on me. When I have my first solo flight and the flight school cuts a square from my shirt, I'll give up my Dr. Whoove's shirt (I can always just get another, what that moment signifies is much more than the price of a shirt). Why? As a constant remind of the amazing community whom I love and who love me, whom I will always protect and hold dear and who will always have my back. Together, we can accomplish anything, because we truly are one big happy family.

Got to be honest its not changed me much, we  its made me happier that much I know but I wasn't really a depressive or anything to begin with.

I have discovered a lot of new music etc because of the fandom though.

Actually I take what I first said back... It has changed me a bit. I used to feel that most people were unfriendly and unopen to new ideas and that the group of friends I have already in the real world were the only 'nice' ones. This community has proven me wrong and I couldn't be happier to be.

I'm going to say it has changed me for the better.  I'm doing a lot more group stuff now, I'm a nicer person overall, and my tolerance level has become rock solid somehow.  I'm also a lot happier.

Becoming a brony has made me a much more positive person. I've learned to be more accepting of others' viewpoints and not be so harsh when presenting my own.

I couldn't have discovered MLP:FiM at a better time in my life. It was the summer of 2011, and I went to go hang out with friends. One of our friends suggested we watch ponies, and so I got my first introduction to the series. At the time, I had been dating someone online, and she was "in the hospital because she drank some bad water". Never heard from her after that, so the sadness of worrying about her, realizing she never really cared about me and wasn't going to get back online, the sadness of how everyone else I had dated treated me horribly, and my depression, weighed heavily on my heart. I might have tried to kill myself had I not discovered ponies when I did.

Now I'm a lot less angry and have fewer problems with depression. Best of all is the woman I met at my college - now I have someone who I can date in real life, who treats me right, and best of all, she's a brony too. We've been together for over a year now, and she seems to be perfect for me :)

Oddly enough, FiM also made me embrace my inner girly side, so now I find myself actually liking Barbie and Tinkerbell movies of all things blink.png
